00:00On a big boy Tuesday, Greg Bedard joins us from the Boston Sports Journal here in our
00:04Town Fair Tire Studios.
00:05Hi, Gregory.
00:06Hello.
00:06Greg is brought to you by Best Ford in Nashua, looking for great deals on a new Ford.
00:11Go to the best first, Best Ford in Nashua, on the web at thebestford.com.
00:15Maz and Murray alongside.
00:16How are you guys doing?
00:17Good to know.
00:17Let's get this out of the way right off the top.
00:20Maz, who do you like?
00:21Houston.
00:21I'm picking Houston.
00:22Let me get that off my chest right now.
00:24I'm picking Houston.
00:26That defense is freaking ridiculous.
00:27Ridiculous.
00:29Ridiculous.
00:30I'm not sure anybody can handle it unless they have experienced players up and down their
00:34offense.
00:35The Patriots don't.
00:36I like Houston.
00:37Let me get that out now.
00:38Greg, your thoughts?
00:39My initial thought is I'm going to pick the Patriots probably for a couple of different
00:46reasons.
00:46Number one, Nico Collins is probably going to be out.
00:49I mean, to get carted off with a concussion, he already had a concussion.
00:53I don't know, like four or five, six weeks ago where he missed a couple of games.
00:57He's going to be out.
00:58Even if Christian Gonzalez is out, that's a huge net positive for the Patriots.
01:03Like, Nico Collins is really their one difference maker.
01:06Christian Kirk is pretty good.
01:08But I view this as somewhat similar to the Chargers game.
01:13Now, the Chargers defense is very good.
01:17This Houston Texans defense is elite.
01:20It's another level than what Drake May and the Patriots saw on Sunday night.
01:27CJ Stroud, you know, talking about, like on the postgame show, talking about what matchup
01:32they were going to get.
01:33I wasn't afraid of either team because in the sort of crossover film that I've had this
01:37year, watching CJ Stroud, like I watched him against the Chargers, not impressed at
01:44all with CJ Stroud.
01:45And you saw that last night.
01:46I don't think that the offense that he's in, it's another, in my opinion, it's another
01:53coordinator, quarterback mismatch like they just had with Justin Herbert and Greg Roman.
01:59I view CJ Stroud and Nick Caley, who used to be here as the tight ends coach, as a similar
02:06mismatch.
02:07Why?
02:07Because similar to the Chargers, just like the Chargers game, I don't have any confidence
02:14that Nick Caley is going to be able to give CJ Stroud answers, especially during the game,
02:21once the game dictates itself and they see what the Patriots are doing.
02:25I just think that Nick Caley, I don't think he was ready for that role.
02:28He, he's never really coached the quarterback.
02:31Um, they, he's not the quarterback's coach.
02:34They, they held over a guy, Jared Johnson, former NFL quarterback to coach CJ Stroud.
02:40He's kind of like a Stroud's buddy.
02:42So, um, I just, I think I have, again, I have a lot more confidence that Josh McDaniels
02:48is going to, uh, give answers to Drake may, um, just like he did in the Chargers game in
02:55the second half that is going to determine this game.
