00:07the consequences of a possible U.S. intervention in Greenland in Euronews flagship Morning Show
00:12Europe today. I know that President Trump says that he's not reined in by anything but his own
00:19morals, but even for that, to do that for one nature country to attack another nature country
00:25for territory. That would be, I think, the most existential threat to NATO. Vestager said existing
00:32treaties between the U.S. and Denmark allow for further cooperation on the ground without a transfer
00:37of Greenland. She also noted that Copenhagen has a long-established commitment to NATO and global
00:43security. When you look at the asks of security and cooperation on minerals, there is, I think,
00:52a very open approach from the Greenlandic government and population and, of course, also from a Danish
00:57side. And there's been a long-standing cooperation. The treaty with the U.S. goes back to 51 as when
01:03it comes to security. Trump argues the strategically located territory is crucial to U.S. national
01:10security as a counterpoint to Russian and Chinese prisons in the Arctic. Denmark and Greenland have
01:16firmly rejected the claims and reiterated that the territory is not for sale.
