00:00Yes, and Jono, President Trump has also recently said that Iranian leaders want to negotiate,
00:06but there's also reports he could report the blitz Iran as soon as tomorrow.
00:11So, again, what we're seeing is the usual Donald Trump brinksmanship, and he does it so, so well.
00:17He's signaling this openness to talks with the leaders of Iran,
00:21which is, of course, what would be the ideal scenario here, is talks to figure out where we progress to next
00:26or what actually happens here.
00:27But simultaneously, he's escalating the threat of force,
00:30which is what we've seen in the last hours that he's made these announcements.
00:34We may have to act before a meeting.
00:36That's a very deliberate line that's been used by Trump here as well.
00:38It keeps Iran guessing, but it's giving also the maximum pressure ahead of any negotiations that may come to the table as well.
00:46So, if we're to believe, and this is from the Trump administration themselves,
00:49they will jump to the defense of any people who require this.
00:53And you've heard it there as well. Iran has not allowed freedom for a very long time.
00:56That was what Donald Trump said himself.
00:58If you're to believe that and you take into consideration the Venezuela capture of the president of Venezuela,
01:04you have to look and say, is the same going to ring true for Iran?
01:08Is he going to come to the defense of the people who are there, who are rioting for change and for some level of diplomacy,
01:14and a change to the regime that's in place?
01:17And you would have to think that negotiations aside, he's likely to send forces into Iran.
01:22And that's likely what this administration is going to do.
01:25The state media is saying, like Rawia said, it's under total control.
01:28We don't know how much of that is true.
01:30There are flights in and flights out, so we're getting this information.
01:32The videos that we're seeing are a lot of the time from people who either, as Rawia pointed out,
01:37using Starlink illegally or who are traveling out of the country with that video evidence and then sharing it.
01:42So we're probably 24 hours behind where we should be in terms of what is actually happening on the streets.
01:46We know that there are continued demonstrations today.
01:49So of the 11,000 people that have been arrested, what is the plan?
01:52What is Iran's plan here?
01:53Are they going to arrest every single person who's taken to the street and done a demonstration?
01:57Or are they, in fact, going to now discover that, wait a second, there's other forces at play here,
02:02i.e. the U.S., who are going to come in here and play their cards and say,
02:05listen, we need a bit of a change in the regime here.
02:08It's not what the region needs, that's for sure, but I don't think the U.S. can sit back and take a backseat in something like this
02:14if you're going to play the card that you normally will jump to the defense of people who require the assistance of the U.S.
02:19Without outwardly asking for it, the people of Iran need something right now in order to bring this reform and this change
02:25about that they so desperately seem to be requiring.
