00:10Two women, aged 59 and 82, and a 92-year-old man called emergency services on Friday afternoon, seeking help to evacuate their isolated property on Caveat-Dropmoor Road.
00:22The family had completely lost their home to the fire, and were sheltering in a shipping container on the property as the fire swept through on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026.
00:33Without a clear access road to the property, the air wing was called in before 7am on Saturday, landing at the property an hour and a half later.
00:43The family, and their cat named Grisha, were loaded into the helicopter and transported to Seymour.
