An express bus carrying 42 passengers was involved in an accident at KM1.0 of the North–South Expressway southbound in Hulu Selangor early Sunday (Jan 11).

Following the accident, PLUS Malaysia advised highway users to plan their journeys, with heavy vehicles exiting at the Bukit Beruntung toll plaza and light vehicles at the Sungai Buaya toll plaza.

00:00An express bus was involved in an accident at kilometre 1.0 of the North-South Expressway
00:07southbound in Hulu-Salango early Sunday.
00:09Salango Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Operations Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar
00:15said a distress call was received at 5.24 a.m. regarding the crash near Sungai Buea heading
00:22towards Rawang.
00:23Eight personnel from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene, about
00:28twenty-one kilometres away.
00:30Upon arrival, firefighters found four bus passengers and a lorry driver trapped in the wreckage.
00:36The bus was carrying forty-two passengers, including two drivers.
00:40A total of thirty-eight passengers managed to exit the vehicle safely.
00:45All injured victims were transported to Sungai Buea Hospital for treatment, with the final
00:49victim rescued at 8.53 a.m.
00:52Ahmad Mukhlis said 26 passengers were unhurt and declined hospital treatment.
00:58Following the accident, PLUS Malaysia advised heavy vehicles to exit at the Bukit Beruntung
01:03Toll Plaza, while light vehicles were directed to exit at the Sungai Buea Toll Plaza.
