00:04:00For homicide detectives, their chance of solving a murder is cut in half if they don't get a lead within the first 48 hours.

00:04:19So about approximately an hour ago, we had an armed robbery in which the victims were shot at following the robbery.

00:04:45And then while working that armed robbery, they observe a bullet hole to an unrelated trailer, make contact, and they discover the deceased in the back bedroom.

00:04:54So here, you can see where we have the entry of the bullet, and then on the other side of this wall is our decedent.

00:05:09And his name is Alberto Martinez Martinez Martinez.

00:05:16He knows?

00:05:1737-year-old Erriberto Martinez Martinez came to the U.S. 20 years ago from Oaxaca, Mexico, in search of better job opportunities.

00:05:27He worked construction and was packed to move to a new job site in North Carolina in the morning.

00:05:34He leaves behind a large family, including his brother and brother's family in North Charleston, and his parents and three other siblings back home in Mexico.

00:05:44The bullet struck him in his facial area while he was sleeping.

00:05:50The shot killed Erriberto instantly.

00:05:53Where you see the crowd of people is the general area in which the armed robbery victims were when the shooting took place.

00:06:00They were at the back corner of their trailer when approximately four, what they described as black males, approached them, demanded their items.

00:06:09And as they were fleeing, the suspect shot, there were several shell casings out here that was collected by patrol.

00:06:17The four casings were covered, a raw 9mm.

00:06:23Where the armed robbery happened, a trailer has video cameras.

00:06:28Bravo is helping download the video.

00:06:31We need to do interviews with the victims.

00:06:33Once the video is downloaded, I'm going to have him take my victims to City Hall.

00:06:37And Bravo is going to sit down with each one, and we're going to have one translation of what happened.

00:07:22So, said they were hanging out, drinking beer, and said there were four that came somewhere from, like, behind the trailer.

00:07:35So, they're asking, like, where's the mota?

00:07:39Which means marijuana?

00:07:43All of them, the four, were black.

00:07:45He says the man who pointed the gun at him wore a black mask, and two others also wore masks.

00:08:00Two black black masks, one had one.

00:08:02And then one didn't have one at all.

00:08:05He said the one that came up to him with the gun, he was only able to see kind of like eyes.

00:08:10And he had the mask with the hoodie on.

00:08:13He pulled the trigger, and did you hear it go?

00:08:40He says the suspect stole his keys, phone, and wallet, and then moved on to his friend.

00:08:51So, the guy with the black mask, after he took his phone and everything, the black mask, went to start searching the other victim, victim number two.

00:09:01So, but was it the same one that was kind of doing all the robbing?

00:09:05Were they, like, trying to aim at you, or were they, like, aiming at the house?

00:09:20Yeah, did you see which direction they ran to after they fired?

00:09:29He says he and his friends ran after the men, but lost them behind some apartments.

00:09:36So, when they turned left onto Facet, that's when you lost sight of them?

00:13:24where they're running away in the same direction

00:13:26that they came from.

00:13:32likely to this road.

00:13:36We have some areas of interest

00:13:39Video surveillance might help us ID them a little better.

00:13:48but at least we have a starting point.

00:13:54because we don't have any suspects at this time.

00:14:57There was three victims that were robbed.

00:15:00They said that four males robbed them,

00:15:03and then they fire shots backwards.

00:15:05As they're running off,

00:15:06the victim was sleeping in his trailer

00:15:08and got hit by gunfire.

00:15:10They run towards this pond,

00:15:11and that's where you lose them from the camera.

00:15:13I imagine if you're going to take a car,

00:15:15you've got to go out Facet Road on up.

00:15:17You've got to go left on stall or right on stall.

00:15:19We need to see if there's any video

00:15:20that we can obtain.

00:15:22They actually have good video

00:15:24on the second building

00:15:25in that apartment complex.

00:15:27Also, Sergeant Bailey was saying

00:15:30They found a broken fence.

00:15:36jumping the fence into the apartment complex.
