00:00The court announces that it's going to issue opinions, but it never says what those opinions are going to cover.
00:05So the fact that the IEPA decision, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act decision, was not released today, to me, doesn't really say very much.
00:15As you said in your opening, the next date on which the court is scheduled to potentially release an opinion is Wednesday.
00:21So, again, if the decision comes out on Wednesday, I don't think the distinction between today versus Wednesday should amount to very much.
00:29OK. I mean, I didn't think so, but it is always worth asking to find out because everyone's in such anticipation over this ruling.
00:37Given that lower courts have already ruled that President Trump exceeded his authority, what do you think is the likelihood that SCOTUS is going to rule that the tariffs are unlawful?
00:47So my own sense is I think they're going to agree whether they agree exactly with the lower courts or whether they come up with their own rationale.
00:54My own sense is the bottom line decision is going to be they're going to rule that the Trump tariffs, both those that are imposed as a result of fentanyl going into Canada, Mexico, and China,
01:05and the broader across-the-board tariffs applied to everyone are going to be ruled as not permitted under this International Economic Emergency Powers Act.
