00:00A Vowed is an obsidian first-person action RPG set in the world of Pillars of Eternity where the
00:16player plays as an envoy sent by the Emperor of Edir to the living lands to investigate a
00:22mysterious plague that's kind of spreading throughout the lands causing chaos and you
00:26play as the you know the envoy trying to figure out what's kind of going on down there do things
00:31that affect it in positive ways negative ways or in between type of ways you know with that type of
00:35choice and consequence in terms of you know the post-launch things we've been supporting on it
00:39you know like we've gotten a bunch of abilities added to the ranger and fighter trees to kind of
00:44more fill it out comparatively to the wizard tree aspects about it that are like arachnophobia mode
00:50that was like a big community requested feature as well as you know changes to progression improvements
00:55there gear improvements and as well as bug fixes and crash fixes and you can play now as the
01:02different species yeah we've added different species yeah all the Amalwin Orleans and dwarves
01:08are now playable a lot of our decisions we make are revolving around the player community so we work
01:15you know really closely with our community management team you know we get like a spreadsheet kind of see
01:20what the things that are bubbling to the top you know like an example like uh quarterstaff or
01:25something where just we wanted to feel like more like a wizard right that kind of uh wizardy vibe as
01:30well as playing as Orleans like I think players just were bummed that we didn't we didn't include that in
01:35the base game so I mean it really comes down to like the time and what the community wants and that's
01:39kind of how we decide to go about it yeah we notice like players really a role play their characters in
01:45the game so we always want to give them as many options as we can to like customize their features
01:50or character you know to kind of have this fantasy in this world um as they journey through the story
01:56we just wanted to give them as many possible options as they can to really make the character
02:03they want to make um and just make it just their own stuff like uh all the playable races we discussed
02:11early on and about it's something to both previous pillars games had it's a lot of work and a difficult
02:19thing to really nail down especially in about with its parkour systems and its combat mechanics and all
02:26the weapon types and stuff like that in the game our uh different races are different sizes they're
02:31different shapes they're a very unique game experience when you play us each one of them in a first person
02:38game specifically so it was something like new to wrangle for avowed we had no time to finish it as
02:45we're making about and now we can give it to the players so it's a more rounded experience compared to
02:50the original players games it should be a whole new way to play the game if you pick an orlin or an
02:56amawa it makes you feel completely different in the world especially if you use third person or first
03:02person it changes it again how you feel and present in this game so it's pretty awesome that we can
03:08finally bring that new game plus allows the the player to bring over all their abilities all their
03:14equippable gear it does reset it back to level one so it's not like you're just outright op basically
03:21but you know you'll have the end game gear with all its like enchants to be able to just start the
03:26new game as well as we have like uh modifiers on enemies that kind of you know either make them more
03:31resistant to some of the elemental types or you know modifiers that make them more resistance to
03:35being a stun locked or hit reacted and that kind of gets sprinkled in kind of somewhat randomly
03:40throughout the that new game plus experience to kind of get that that added challenge but also let
03:45the player still feel somewhat like they're accumulating their abilities over the course of
03:49multiple playthroughs we notice players like to take photos of their enways but it's very difficult in
03:55the game you have to get the camera just right to get a certain distance from the character or can
04:01capture the the shot in the conversation when you see your character so this allows you to really
04:05get into it and capture some awesome shots or some scary shots depending which way you're going
04:12we're super excited to announce that uh avow it's finally going to come out to ps5 pre-orders are going
