00:02Mexico has reported a historic drop in the homicide rate under the leadership of President
00:07Clayda Sheinbaum.
00:09The reduction achieved by the administration that began in October 2024 has placed the
00:13country for the last year at 17.5 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants, the lowest level
00:20since 2015.
00:22This drop represents almost a 14% decrease in the rate of the most extreme manifestation
00:27of violence.
00:29According to a report by a correspondent in Mexico, 26 of the 32 Mexican states managed
00:35to reduce their intentional homicide rate.
00:37While sharing the figures on her daily press conference, President Sheinbaum attributed
00:42the achievement to the positive outcome of a national security strategy that coordinates
00:46federal agencies with state governments.
