A throng of Black Nazarene devotees join the Traslacion or the procession of its image around Manila on Jan. 9, 2026. Close to noon, the crowd pushed and pulled their way in the hope of touching the image that has been considered 'miraculous.' Tension gripped the procession briefly after some devotees tried to break through the barricade set up by authorities to ensure peace and order. Police, however, managed to maintain crowd discipline, enabling the Traslacion to proceed smoothly.
