00:00We have so many people coming to a small town in the middle of Missouri every year and a small
00:23crew. We have to do things in a way that other agencies don't do them. Definitely fill the
00:28air out so the cops will see you. Bites are breaking out everywhere. Go, go, go. Let's get wild out
00:34here. Osage Beach is a front line of defense of the massive influx of tourism that brings crime
00:42here at the Lake of the Ozarks. Nothing like the smell of burnt metal to start off your day. That
00:46might be heroin. Police, if you're in here, make yourself known. Get out of the car. You're done.
00:50You're going to jail. Freaking A. We have to be prepared for some interesting folks. I gotta ask.
00:57You're definitely my problem now. No, man. Looks like you guys struck a deer. We did.
01:03You don't know what people are going through. You don't know how bad their day is. You need
01:07to have understanding and empathy. I consider each and every one of these people my family.
01:12Doing this type of work with somebody, you're going to have that bond.
01:17Wondering if Carson's all right. She stopped answering her radio about halfway through that
01:22pursuit. I heard Cordula to come home. And he's like, Felicia died last night.
01:31The Osage Beach patrol vehicle on Bob in the crash was being driven by Officer Felicia Carson.
01:37Officer Carson.
01:38Perished in the crash.
01:46It truly is a calling.
01:50And in a perfect world, none of this would ever happen.
01:54But unfortunately, we did not live in a perfect world.
01:57It's been a long Missouri winter. But Memorial Day is here. And it's the real start to our summer.
02:19The law enforcement community of the Lake of the Ozarks went through a lot last summer.
02:25And what usually ends as a nice sigh of relief to a long summer ended in tragedy.
02:30And I think that's when you really see law enforcement band together and try to support one another and lift each other up.
02:36Let's go, baby! Memorial Day weekend!
02:41No one do stupid stuff.
02:42Lisa!
02:43Come on!
02:44Come on!
02:45I told them we were single, and then they started doing it.
02:59This is my second year as chief, and it seems like every year it gets a little busier.
03:04The crowd's getting bigger and bigger.
03:08We're grateful for the visitors, but sometimes we're outnumbered.
03:12We recently lost Corporal Isaiah Huff. He moved on to another agency within the area.
03:18And it does create a challenge for our department.
03:21Where are we going?
03:23I mean, this place is popping right now.
03:25You never know what you're in for on a Memorial Day weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks.
03:35We got a fight.
03:36Hey!
03:37Hey!
03:37Hey!
03:38Hey!
03:38Hey!
03:39Hey!
03:39Hey!
03:40Let me know what you're in for now.
03:42Hey, no!
03:42Let me know what you're in for now.
03:43Hey!
03:44Hey!
03:44Hey, where are they?
03:45Back up.
03:46Hey!
03:46I said so.
03:47Let me!
03:48Get me!
03:50Get me!
03:50Hey!
03:51Hey!
03:51Hey!
03:52It ain't worth that .
03:54I'm not.
03:54I'm not breaking that.
03:55You have an open container in your hand that's a leak.
03:57Back up.
03:58Back up!
03:59Wait for me.
04:00I'm not going to keep telling you.
04:01Back up for a reason.
04:02Excuse me.
04:03Hey!
04:04Don't get in front of me.
04:05Please don't get in front of me.
04:06Yes, you did.
04:07No, no, no.
04:08I said we're doing it.
04:09I didn't get in front of anybody.
04:11I was in there having fun with everybody else.
04:13But if that guy right there says he's going to hit me,
04:16he can't.
04:17He's like, smack you on the ass, and I think it's OK.
04:20I don't know what the ..
04:22He smacked me on the ass.
04:23That's why this all started.
04:24I don't know that I did.
04:25I was on the phone.
04:26He smacked me on the ass.
04:28I was inside.
04:29I don't even know him.
04:30I said, what was that?
04:30He said, I don't like it.
04:32And I said, no, I didn't.
04:33I didn't even talk like that.
04:35Yeah, you did.
04:36You don't smack my ass.
04:37If she said I smacked her ass, maybe I didn't.
04:40I don't know.
04:40We're all in there having fun.
04:42We're trying to control the situation here.
04:44Back up.
04:45Back up.
04:46I'm just saying, you know what I'm saying?
04:47You know what I'm saying?
04:48You need to hold my butt.
04:51I like your butt.
04:51Yeah.
04:52You look in my butt.
04:54I'm sorry.
04:56Hey, miss, can you come here for a second?
05:00If I touch her butt, I'm saying I'm
05:03sorry.
05:04It's not OK that you touch me, but I'm glad
05:06that you're a colleague.
05:07I'm holding my head to the other back.
05:09I'm sorry.
05:09I just want an apology.
05:10I don't want to be said to her.
05:11If I do that, I'm sorry.
05:13OK.
05:13I'm sorry.
05:15OK.
05:16Is that OK with everybody?
05:17Yeah.
05:18All right.
05:19He didn't do a .
05:21Get out of my face, dude.
05:23Turn that thing on one time.
05:24Hey.
05:25First of all, it is on.
05:27Now you pissed me off.
05:28Give me your ID.
05:29You got an open container in public.
05:30You're getting a ticket.
05:31I didn't mean to be this big old deal.
05:33I said I'm sorry, but.
05:35And honestly, you're being one of the most cordial ones.
05:37It's your friends are getting lit up.
05:39If you're getting a ticket for open container,
05:41it's disorderly conduct.
05:42If I deal with you anymore tonight, you're going to jail.
05:44Can I ask?
05:45No, you can't.
05:45I don't care what you have to say.
05:46You're done.
05:47If I deal with you again tonight, you're going to jail.
05:50Is that clear?
05:51Did you see it?
05:52Calm down.
05:53Did you see it?
05:54Calm down.
05:55You don't know what the you're talking about.
05:56Your friends are getting a little wound up.
05:58Walk away.
05:59I apologize to the caller.
06:01Walk away.
06:03Walk away.
06:06Walk away.
06:07Hey, buddy.
06:08I got two tickets sitting here.
06:09That disorderly is so .
06:14Hey, that disorderly is so .
06:20I can't take it.
06:21Hey, get out of his face.
06:23Hey, .
06:24Disorderly for nothing.
06:26Oh, no, no, no, no.
06:29Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, don't you f***ing.
06:31Don't touch anybody.
06:33I'm grabbing him.
06:34I'm helping you.
06:34No, you should have helped us by leaving a long time ago.
06:38He wants to keep wrapping his gums.
06:40Now he's going to jail.
06:41Next.
06:41You just asked me to help him.
06:43Go.
06:44Walk this room.
06:44Go.
06:45Walk this room.
06:47Walk this room.
06:50I don't know what I did.
06:51So, I mean, we're tolerant here, but you can't get to a cop's face.
06:55You don't know how to follow directions.
06:57Eventually, it ends up with a free ride to the jail.
07:21927, OPM 23.
07:27Where's my RP going to be at?
07:29927.
07:30They are in the parking lot.
07:31Copy.
07:32So, right now, we are going to a disturbance of progress.
07:36Right now, we are going to a disturbance of progress.
07:39It's a pretty large lake bar.
07:41One of the more popular ones here in the lake of the Ozarks.
07:45Right now, there's at least three people fighting.
07:48Here, responding to you guys, they are all with security.
07:51Some are in the bottom lot.
07:52They are separated.
07:53Some are in the top lot, as well.
07:54Last October, my department graced me with my four-legged partner, Freya.
08:01She's a Belgian Malinois.
08:03We have a pretty great relationship.
08:06She's happiest when she's in the back of my car getting ready to work.
08:12Every time my lights come on, she's excited, barking.
08:16I'm very happy I got partnered with Freya.
08:18It's probably one of the best things I've ever done with my career.
08:23Depending on what's going on when we get here, I might pull her out.
08:29We're going to be at the top of the bar.
08:33Two victims, both bleeding from the head.
08:3620, 23.
08:43Hey, Murray.
08:46Smells like freaking back pain and glaucoma.
08:54All right.
08:55All right.
08:56You got some ?
08:57Yeah, OK.
08:58Sorry.
08:59I don't need your and I don't need you to talk right now.
09:02Get out of here.
09:03You'll see her.
09:04You'll see her.
09:05So a girl kissed me on the cheek.
09:06This dude wanted to have a couple words with me.
09:09And then he ended up grabbing by my hair.
09:12And he just started pounding me from left to right.
09:15Left to right.
09:16So he punched you in the face once, right?
09:18Yeah.
09:19Multiple times.
09:20Multiple times.
09:21Before I threw the first punch, and my friend stepped in afterwards.
09:27I would ask if you're OK, but that don't look like you're OK.
09:31Everything was good until the bigger dude,
09:33the dude that didn't even see anything,
09:35he shoved my buddy Justin.
09:37And then they, them two started to fight, right?
09:39And he's grabbing his hair, hitting him side of head.
09:41Well, then this other big dude that was hit my buddy.
09:45So why can't behind the other big dude,
09:47I hit the side of head.
09:48He picks me up and throws me.
09:50Because I'm not letting my buddy get jumped on two dudes.
09:52So that's why, that's when I jumped.
09:54So, but that's how it went for me.
09:55OK.
09:56I don't see him no more.
09:57One of them would be able to identify who hit them.
10:00He probably can.
10:01Because they're not admitting it up there.
10:03Let him get that stitched up first.
10:05Have her blue look at their knuckles.
10:06There's going to be blood.
10:08Can you look at their knuckles?
10:10Is there blood on any of them?
10:12Is that blood on your hands?
10:14Yes, sir.
10:15I do.
10:16I mean, the other guy's coming up.
10:18OK, hold on.
10:19I'm talking to him right now.
10:20Oh, I'm sorry, sorry.
10:21There's blood.
10:22Is that blood on your hands?
10:23Or what is it?
10:2410-3, there's blood on one person.
10:26Are you willing to identify the person that assaulted you?
10:28Yeah, I'm willing to identify.
10:29We're going to take care of that.
10:30Do you want to prosecute?
10:31Yeah.
10:32Hey, buddy.
10:33We're about to go up there and basically point the finger,
10:35and then we're going to take care of that problem for you.
10:37OK?
10:38Hang out for a minute.
10:39The second the finger gets pointed,
10:41that's probably going to pop off again.
10:42So just hang out for a minute.
10:46918, 927.
10:49Bringing the victims up for identification.
10:52All right, give up to you.
10:53Stand right here.
10:53OK, don't approach them.
11:01Is it any of those guys?
11:02Yep.
11:03Oh, the first dude's all the way to the left.
11:05Gray shirt started.
11:06White shirt tried to jump him.
11:07That's the dude that slammed me and cut my arm.
11:09Who's the one that grabbed your hair?
11:10The dude on the gray shirt, right?
11:12Far left.
11:13Gray shirt, big dude.
11:15So I know I'm not a detective, but he's got blood all over him.
11:24And so does he.
11:26He's not under arrest, but they are detained.
11:30Detain that one.
11:34Not under arrest at this time.
11:35You're just being detained, all right?
11:38Stand up, sir.
11:39You're not under arrest, but you are being detained, OK?
11:42They identified these, too.
11:43They're security camera footage, yes.
11:44They did?
11:45Well, crap.
11:46We didn't even need that.
11:47He's got blood all over him, and that guy's got blood all over him.
11:49But if we got security camera footage, all the better.
11:50Good work.
11:51Secure him and go.
11:52All right.
11:53You, too.
11:53We're going in my car.
11:54There was one guy who did kiss me, I don't know where he is or where he went.
12:08Can you describe him?
12:10The curly-haired guy with the white shirt on.
12:12OK, yeah.
12:13I know exactly who you're talking about.
12:14He asked first, and I was like, no, I still have a boyfriend.
12:17And he goes, and then he still kissed me anyways.
12:20I was like, please, please leave me a volume.
12:24OK, the gentleman behind my right shoulder, she's alleging, kissed her after saying, no,
12:29I have a boyfriend.
12:30Brian.
12:31Brian.
12:32Hey.
12:33Sorry.
12:34Hey, hear me.
12:35Oh, what's up?
12:36Hear me out.
12:37Let me explain it to you before we even go that road, OK?
12:40There's a female from that group that's alleging that you kissed her against her will.
12:44Can you tell me what happened?
12:45Nope.
12:46She asked if she could kiss me, and I told her she could kiss me on the cheek.
12:50She kissed me against the cheek, and that is it.
12:54That's it?
12:55That is completely it.
12:56I did not kiss her against her will.
12:58OK.
12:59I did not make any physical move towards her action.
13:03And I can bear witness.
13:05Yeah.
13:06Perfect.
13:07It wasn't a problem until the guy came up to confront him about it.
13:09She got caught.
13:10Then she kind of sensed.
13:11Yeah, she got caught.
13:12I'll overview the camera.
13:13Get yourself to the hospital, man.
13:16Right now, we're going to go get security camera footage for the incident that we just investigated.
13:20And then after that, Officer Rosenberg's going to decide whether or not it goes to Canada.
13:27OK.
13:29Well, there's camera footage.
13:31Fight started here.
13:32The female, she pissed the shaggy-haired guy, shoulder-length hair on the cheek, got caught.
13:38And then those two start fighting one-on-one.
13:43The gentleman with the shoulder-length hair starts getting messed up pretty bad.
13:51Curly-head guy is getting stomped pretty good.
13:54And then he gets up, swings back, hits him, and then the rest of that guy's group jumped in.
14:03So his friends jumped in, and it turned into a brawl.
14:06And then there, parties get separated.
14:12I think he got the right to be in custody.
14:16Because there was definitely one group antagonized the other into that fight.
14:26What's up?
14:27That guy looks like that other guy swung on him from behind.
14:31He turned around swung on him once.
14:33That seems like mutual to me in the middle of the fight.
14:38Your investigation.
14:39Your call.
14:40I agree with you.
14:41So I'm not going to arrest him.
14:42OK.
14:43Let's let him go.
14:43All right.
14:44OK.
14:44Turn around.
14:45Take yourself off.
14:46Upon further review of the footage, a gentleman by my left shoulder.
14:56He was involved in the fight, but he was also sucker punched from behind.
15:00Can't really...
15:01I mean, we could, but we're not going to criminally prosecute a guy defending himself.
15:06That's not right.
15:07The other gentleman, on the other hand, absolutely started the fight.
15:10He will be going to jail.
15:17Have a good night, sir.
15:20For me, Memorial Day weekend, this isn't what it's supposed to be.
15:26This is a time to remember people that can't be here.
15:29And unfortunately, on a national level, I believe it's been turned into a drink fest
15:36and we've completely forgotten why it's a holiday.
15:38It's tragic, but we're here for it all the same.
15:43At least some of us still remember.
15:51Most municipalities in Missouri will have a section of highway that's dedicated to a veteran.
15:57But Osage Beach is doing something pretty unique with the Grand Glaze Bridge.
16:02We're renaming it the Officer Felicia Carson Memorial Bridge.
16:06Once it goes into effect, it'll take some getting used to calling it out different on the radio.
16:11I've been calling it the Grand Glaze for years, but the name will be pretty easy to remember.
16:22There's a quote I used to hear all the time, that time heals all wounds.
16:27I hate that quote.
16:29That I do not believe.
16:31I think it's kind of like scar tissue.
16:36It never goes away.
16:37You just adapt to it and get better at dealing with it.
16:42At least in healthier ways.
16:46But that being said, there's much better people than me that aren't here today.
16:53And those people should be remembered.
16:57The least we can do is put a sign on it.
17:14Well, we are on day number two of the Memorial Day weekend, the season kickoff.
17:19We're heading to the strip right now just to take a look at it.
17:22People going to the nightclubs, trying to have a good time.
17:25So it's definitely going to be busier.
17:28And I'm hoping it will stay quieter.
17:31But I'm not going to put a dollar amount on that.
17:35I think in the 15 years of me being here,
17:45I think I've been to the strip to have a drink twice.
17:48It's definitely not during the busy season.
17:52Miller County 727, staff is tracking.
17:56Copy point 201.
18:01Miller County 720, can you respond?
18:04So, it sounds like Officer Glasscock has a DWI.
18:14I'm going to go see if he's needing anything.
18:2205207.
18:3205207.
18:33He's not answering.
18:38So, he's right now doing fields on the driver.
18:44Okay, keep your hands at your side, okay?
19:02And do not step off the line.
19:03If you do step off the line, just go ahead and get back on the line and continue where you were.
19:07Okay.
19:08Okay, you may begin.
19:101,001, 1,002, 1,003.
19:13Keep looking at your foot while you do it.
19:151,005, 1,006, 1,007, 1,008, 1,009.
19:201,008, 1,009.
19:211,008, 1,009.
19:22Okay, you can stop.
19:23So, at this point, I believe you're impaired.
19:25So, you are under arrest for driving while intoxicated, okay?
19:28Turn around and face away from me.
19:30Place your hands behind your back.
19:34Who are these people in the vehicle with you?
19:36My friends.
19:37Are any of them sober enough to drive?
19:38Yeah.
19:39Yeah.
19:40They are?
19:40Okay.
19:41Let's go right back here, okay?
19:49Have a seat for me.
19:55So, he ran off the road and almost hit me.
19:58He actually came off the road by more than half of his vehicle, almost hit the front of my vehicle.
20:03So, I pull out behind him and I start following him and he's swerving within his lane.
20:08And then I stop him and I smell a strong odor of alcohol on him.
20:10And he consented to a preliminary breath test and his EAC was a .201 on my PBT.
20:16So, at this point, he's under arrest for DWI.
20:21Are they sober enough to be driving?
20:23I think he talked to them.
20:25She said that she hasn't been drinking and she's willing to do a PBT.
20:28Perfect.
20:29She says she got a license.
20:31So, I'll get her license and make sure it's valid at PBT if you want to.
20:34If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it.
20:36Book and release?
20:37Seriously, doubt he's got any priors.
20:39So, I'm assuming yes.
20:40All right.
20:41Yep.
20:42Keep going just like that.
20:43Keep going.
20:44Keep going.
20:45Keep going.
20:46Keep going.
20:47Keep going.
20:48There you go.
20:49That's good.
20:50Zero, zero, zero.
20:51Just like you said.
20:52I don't get that.
20:53Yeah.
20:53Not driving.
20:54He gave me the magic two beers.
20:55Two?
20:56Yeah.
21:00Always two.
21:01Always two beers.
21:02Always two beers.
21:03So, he's obviously intoxicated.
21:06He cannot be driving while he's intoxicated.
21:08So, that's why he's been placed under arrest.
21:10Are you going to be able to come pick him up?
21:12I can, yeah.
21:13Okay, perfect.
21:14When you do and leave from the PD, you need to be the one driving.
21:18He's not allowed to drive anymore tonight.
21:19Yeah, for sure.
21:20Perfect.
21:25It amazes me that you pulled the driver out.
21:32He's two and a half times the legal limit.
21:36And the passenger is sober.
21:42I never understand that.
21:50I just had the co-transition and not everything.
21:58I love you.
21:59I love you found me.
22:00I love you found me.
22:01I love you found me
22:13Hopefully it's a better cruise.
22:15I do.
22:17712, Millie County traffic stop.
22:24712, go ahead.
22:27It's going to be Luby's Plaza, the black and colored truck hauling the trailer.
22:34Standby for 28.
22:38So we're just going to go let him know that he needs to have his headlights on while his
22:43wipers are activated.
22:44Hello, Officer McCormick, Waker's Park Police.
22:54The reason I stopped you, dear, is because your headlights aren't on in inclement weather
23:00and due to the inclement weather, they have to be on, okay?
23:03Okay.
23:04So can I just see your ID and insurance real quick?
23:07What are you building?
23:12For her?
23:14That's awesome.
23:18I'll try and get you back on the road, okay?
23:20That's okay.
23:21All right, thank you.
23:22So they have a trailer loaded down with three motors, and he said, we are building her.
23:31It's for his wife.
23:341930s Ford car, and he made sure to let me know it was for her.
23:38It was her car, and I thought that was the sweetest thing.
23:42All right, let's get her out of here.
23:44All right, dear, there's that for you.
23:56Again, just when I stopped you is your headlights have to be activated while your windshield wipers
24:00are activated, so.
24:01Anyway, I got my green light on, so I should have some light.
24:05All right.
24:05All right.
24:06Y'all's already safe, okay?
24:07I can't wait to see that car.
24:09Are you going to bring it to our car shows and stuff?
24:11Well, we've been down to the car show down here before.
24:14Awesome.
24:14I'll be watching for you now.
24:16Hey, who knows?
24:17Maybe we'll race one these times.
24:18Never know.
24:20Have a good evening.
24:24I don't know what those are going in, but they look pretty powerful, so.
24:28I can't wait to see her driving.
24:30Girl power.
24:31All right.
24:41Memorial Day, we've been running a lot of radar today.
24:51It seems like everybody's in a hurry.
24:5376, we're going to stop that car.
24:56933, every traffic.
25:13I'm smelling what smells like marijuana.
25:17I don't know if it's this car or something else.
25:20I don't know if it's this car or something else.
25:30I don't know if it's this car or something else.
25:31I'm smelling what smells like marijuana.
25:33Cool.
25:38How are you doing, folks?
25:43I'm Corporal Chapman with the O.S. Beach Police Department.
25:47You know why I stopped you?
25:48Yeah.
25:48Why's that?
25:50It's me.
25:50Okay.
25:51All right.
25:51Who's smoking weed in the car?
25:53Uh, she was smoking weed.
25:55Driver's license.
25:57How old are you?
25:59Me?
26:00Yeah.
26:00I'm 20.
26:01You're what?
26:0220.
26:02You're smoking weed in the car?
26:05All right.
26:05Go ahead and step back.
26:06Bring the back to my car for me.
26:08Where's the weed at?
26:10In the back, too.
26:12That's okay.
26:13They're standing in front of my patrol car.
26:15When was the last time you smoked?
26:17Like, maybe two hours.
26:18Two hours ago?
26:19Two hours ago?
26:19You know it's illegal to operate a motor vehicle while you've been smoking, right?
26:22Yeah.
26:22I mean, I'm not high.
26:24I have a gun.
26:25You got a firearm, you said?
26:26Yeah, yeah, right.
26:26Where is it at?
26:27Right.
26:29Okay.
26:31All right, bud.
26:31Go ahead and step out.
26:32Just keep your hands up away from your waistband, okay?
26:36All right.
26:37Where's your gun at?
26:38Right, right.
26:42All right.
26:42Go ahead and step out.
26:43Let's move over to the left side of the car.
26:48I'm going to secure this.
26:48I'll be right back.
26:59All right.
27:00Right now, we're going to go up and do a search of the vehicle.
27:02They are smoking marijuana while they're driving, which is illegal.
27:05And the odor of the burnt marijuana gives me a piece of the search of the vehicle.
27:14There it is.
27:14There we go.
27:23All right.
27:24So we got marijuanas.
27:26We got grinders.
27:27Just all the common stuff you'll see with marijuana usage.
27:30All right.
27:30All right.
27:35So I'll be confiscating this since she is underage.
27:45It is a violation for her to be in possession of it.
27:48This is your box?
27:49Yes.
27:49All right.
27:52Just going to secure that for now.
27:54That'll be going in as evidence.
27:59So you haven't smoked in two or three hours?
28:01All right.
28:01I'm going to check you real quick.
28:02Do some feels, some easy stuff, basic stuff.
28:05How old are you?
28:0621.
28:06Step right here for me.
28:08Feet together, hands down to your sides.
28:10Just follow the tip of my finger with your eyes and your eyes only.
28:12You understand so far?
28:13Don't move your head, okay?
28:16Don't move your head.
28:21All right.
28:21You know your alphabet?
28:22Yeah.
28:23All right.
28:23I want you to recite the alphabet starting with C and ending with P.
28:26Very simple.
28:27Can you do that?
28:27Yeah.
28:27All right.
28:28Go ahead.
28:28E-F-G-H-I-J-K-L-M-O-K-E.
28:31Okay.
28:31All right.
28:32I don't think you're impaired today.
28:33That being said, I'm going to write you a ticket for your speed.
28:35I'm going to have to take her in for possession of marijuana.
28:38So if you want to go to the station, she should be able to bond out who's short of it, okay?
28:41Okay.
28:41Is this going to, like, hurt her or anything?
28:47I mean, it's a criminal charge, so that's...
28:51Did I take it?
28:52No, man.
28:55I mean, if I thought it was yours, you'd be the one in trouble for it, but that's not the case.
29:00So are you going to put her in cuffs or something?
29:03Let me figure it out.
29:04I'm not entirely sure yet.
29:05Okay.
29:06Because she's going to try to watch.
29:08Sometimes that's what people need, though.
29:10Yeah, yeah.
29:10You're 21, right?
29:11Is that your girlfriend?
29:13You're going to get married one day?
29:14Yeah.
29:14What kind of husband are you going to be?
29:16I don't want to see her.
29:17I get it.
29:18I get it.
29:19I wouldn't either.
29:21I understand.
29:22So I've seen your car, man.
29:23I'll be back with you in just a minute, okay?
29:24All right.
29:25All right, Mr. .
29:26So I could arrest you for this, but what I'm going to do today is I'm going to write
29:30you a citation and issue you a court date.
29:32So go ahead and have a seat in the car.
29:33I'm going to bring the citation up for you and for him, and I'll get you guys out of here
29:36shortly, okay?
29:37All right.
29:40Please make better decisions, all right?
29:50I've been doing this long enough to know a few folks that have grown up now and wish
29:54they would have made better decisions.
29:55So you guys have any questions for me?
29:58All right.
29:58Drive safe.
30:02All right, guys.
30:03Let's get this dropped off.
30:04My dad was a cop.
30:09Something that my dad said to me a long time ago, that when you watch Andy Griffith, he
30:14likes to talk with people, and he comes up with solutions rather than just taking an enforcement
30:19action every time.
30:21Being a cop should be more like Andy because he talks with people instead of being like
30:25Barney, where Barney just all the time wants to take everything to the enforcement action,
30:30to the match, you know?
30:31And that causes more problems than it helps.
30:369.33, really.
30:41All right.
30:41We're going to secure it in a temporary locker.
30:50This building has controlled entry, and then we're going to shoot locks to ourselves.
30:55So I'll keep it there until tomorrow morning, where I will then weigh everything out and
31:00turn it into evidence, and it'll be in the court sentence.
31:03Like a bat in the daylight.
31:22We're heading down to the fifth, and it looks like pretty packed here, so it's definitely
31:30going to be busier than last night.
31:33It tends to get a little bit wilder because people have Monday off, so I believe our professionality
31:38is going to be at an all-time high tonight.
31:41Here we go.
31:49Can I cut the?
31:58Sure.
31:59There we go.
32:00You can't smile, though.
32:05Can you handcuff me for the fun of it?
32:08Sure.
32:09Here we go.
32:10You can't smile, though.
32:14I'm sorry.
32:15I'm sorry.
32:16I'm sorry.
32:17I tried to take the opportunity.
32:18I'm sorry.
32:19I'm sorry.
32:20Ladies, guys, have a good night.
32:23Don't really get into handcuffs.
32:25I'll try not to.
32:26I can't.
32:28There's a big crowd moving up that way.
32:42I think there's a fight.
32:44There's a fight.
32:46There's a fight.
32:47There's a fight.
32:48Watch out, guys.
32:50Watch out, guys.
32:51Watch out.
32:52Watch out.
32:53Watch out.
32:54There's a fight.
32:57There's a fight.
32:58There's a fight.
33:02Go, go kick the hole.
33:05Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
33:18Stop pulling!
33:19Stop.
33:20They're not doing anything.
33:21You're insane.
33:22Another picture wrong.
33:24I'm not doing anything.
33:26Hold on, can I fix my
33:28my out?
33:30Hold on.
33:32She didn't do nothing.
33:34I didn't do nothing.
33:36They're hitting me.
33:38You guys good? What happened?
33:40I don't know.
33:42You guys good? What happened?
33:44Carried her away. Way down there.
33:46Watch out.
33:48Watch out, guys.
33:50Make a hole!
33:52Make a hole!
33:54They're fighting.
33:56They're just throwing up on me for no reason.
33:58You're good.
34:00You can hold me.
34:02I'm not fighting. They're throwing up on me.
34:04Okay, let us figure out what's going on right now.
34:06This is for your safety.
34:08They were hitting me and I was telling the officers.
34:10What happened?
34:12Mark!
34:14Come here. She's got a knife between her legs.
34:16You knew I was fighting.
34:18She's got a knife between her legs.
34:20Okay, well, where's the knife?
34:22My knife is right here.
34:24I'm behind my leg.
34:26I'm not fighting nobody.
34:28I didn't even do it. I didn't do anybody.
34:30Her friend's right there. She can grab it.
34:32Come here. Thank you.
34:34Do me a favor, kid. Do me a favor.
34:36Hey, hold on.
34:38Back up, back up, back up.
34:40Do me a favor. Get that knife off of her right there.
34:42Cover her up, man.
34:44We get everything figured out.
34:46Relax, relax.
34:48This is for her safety because stuff was kicking off.
34:52Just give us a minute here.
34:54Just give us a minute.
34:56If he's helping, I'll be right there.
34:58Okay, you. I don't know your name, but you back up.
35:00Did you get that knife?
35:02I got it right there.
35:04Hey, Jason, she got jumped.
35:06Listen, she did. I didn't see the beginning of it,
35:08but I was holding her back the whole time.
35:10Then that one came back up and threw a drink on her.
35:12That's what I saw. Is she still cuffed?
35:14Is she still cuffed?
35:16Say what? Is she still cuffed?
35:18That's uncuffed right there.
35:20No, no, no. She was holding them back.
35:22By the time I got there, she was both swinging.
35:24I think they both need a ticket for fighting in public,
35:26and then we can let her go with her friend.
35:28Okay.
35:30She's gonna get released with a summons for fighting in public,
35:32and we're gonna find the one she was fighting with
35:34and issue a summons to that one, too.
35:36You're gonna need a ticket for fighting in public.
35:38I wasn't even fighting.
35:40Do you see that man that just came over here to talk to me?
35:42Yes, you could tell him. I was talking to him.
35:44He's the chief of police, okay?
35:46Yes.
35:47He just explained to me that while he was dealing with another person,
35:50he was trying to hold you back.
35:52By the time I got there, you were beating his **** out of someone.
35:56Okay?
35:57Because they pulled my hair.
35:59They punched me.
36:01So right now, you're gonna get a ticket for fighting in public.
36:03That's cool. All right.
36:04That's cool.
36:05It's like a speeding ticket, okay?
36:07Show up to your court date, okay?
36:09Good morning.
36:10Good morning.
36:11Very exciting Memorial Day weekend, and got a large fight at Morty Bird's,
36:14so on to the next one.
36:16Come on, I got a little boy.
36:19Not the one or two.
36:20Not the one.
36:21So here we are on Sunday of the Memorial Day weekend, which is an interesting day.
36:23So here we are on Sunday of the Memorial Day weekend, which is an interesting day.
36:44Sometimes we'll have no calls at all because people leave earlier in the day.
36:50And there's some years where we lovingly refer to as Sunday Fun Day.
37:04So this car in front of me, they have a taillight out.
37:10So we're going to go let them know their taillight's out.
37:16I know, Freya. I know.
37:20We've got to find a good spot first.
37:30920 for traffic.
37:36It's going to be on a black Mazda hatchback.
37:39Two occupants. Eastbound 54, KK.
37:43Copy. Eastbound 54. KK for traffic.
37:452106.
37:46What are you doing, dude?
38:03Good evening, sir.
38:04Good evening.
38:05My name's Corporan Honor. I work with the Osage Beach Police Department.
38:07The reason you got stopped tonight, man, is because you got a taillight out on your passenger side.
38:10Oh, really?
38:10Yes, sir. May I have your license, please?
38:12Yeah, this is what I have.
38:14You got a proof of insurance for your car?
38:16That was y'all's night going.
38:18Pretty good.
38:18We're just going out to get dinner. We're roommates, so.
38:21Awesome.
38:21I love your pants. They're star-spangled awesome.
38:26Star-spangled awesome.
38:27I'm going to break them up for Memorial Day.
38:28It's Memorial Day. You got to rock the American flags. I get it.
38:31Well, I know I have it on my phone. I don't know if this is up to date.
38:34That's perfectly fine, man.
38:37I'm going to go type this warning out, and I'm going to get you on the way.
38:39Okay.
38:40When you replace that taillight, again, it's on the rear passenger side.
38:43I will be right back, all right?
38:44Yeah.
38:45You good?
38:52Yeah.
38:53Two roommates going to get dinner. He had a taillight out on the passenger side.
38:57His foot's on the brake now.
38:58Dude's wearing star-spangled awesome pants, though.
39:02It's pretty cool.
39:03American flag pants.
39:04Yeah.
39:04It's freaking cool.
39:06All right. I'm going to play her then.
39:07See you, bro.
39:11You're all right.
39:15Got it.
39:26Sir, get that light fixed when you can. You guys have a blessed night. Stay safe out there, okay?
39:34Shout out to our troops, for real.
39:36Absolutely.
39:37They're the real heroes.
39:38I like people celebrating Memorial Day, and it's not drunken stupidity.
39:48You go with the American flag's white pants. That's awesome.
39:51Tonight is the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
40:11It's another all-hands-on-deck night.
40:14Some of the bars have said, in the five years that they've been here, Friday night they broke their top sales record.
40:20And then on Saturday, they then topped Friday.
40:25So, I think we're going to have our work cut out for us for the remainder of the weekend and throughout the summer.
40:31You just try to kill them with kindness, you know?
40:34Try to make the best of the situation.
40:36Woo!
40:37It's just the bars are getting let out, so we got officers on both sides.
40:52We got a couple over here, a couple over there, just to make sure nothing pops off.
40:56Or if it does, we're there to cut and combat it.
40:59It's clearing out. It's a good sign.
41:12We are getting a breathalyzer to make sure that we are okay to drive.
41:16You are not.
41:19I am not. He might be.
41:21All right.
41:21Nice, deep, consecutive look.
41:22I'll tell you when to stop.
41:24A little harder than that, my man.
41:25Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.
41:29All right.
41:31Please tell me we make the cut.
41:33You're at a 0.132, so that would be a big no, sir.
41:36All right.
41:36So, I was at a 0.08, so that's a big no.
41:39No, you're at a 0.132.
41:41Oh, 0.132.
41:41The legal limit is 0.08. You're f***ed up.
41:44All right. We're going to walk them.
41:46Y'all have a good night.
41:47Enjoy that show.
41:48I will.
41:49Ozark PD rules.
41:52We got the leg.
41:55This is Dance Club Dolly Parton.
41:58Dance Club Dolly Parton.
41:59Oh, you must be.
42:00Oh, my God.
42:01I want to go.
42:06He'll be up here in just a few minutes.
42:10He'll be up here in just a few minutes.
42:14There's no doubt on Memorial Day, we see a huge influx of people come to our area.
42:19I would say this Memorial Day, we've seen more than any Memorial Day I can remember in the past.
42:28I think it's going to be a busy summer.
42:30I think if this weekend's any indication as to what's to come, we're going to be in for a long ride.
42:34Oh, sorry!
42:35Yeah!
42:36It's going to be fun.
42:37No, so let's go.
42:38Okay.
42:39So let's go.
