Transcript
00:00Oh!
00:01You can help me run some things.
00:02You wanna show me?
00:03Sister, I'ma need your help.
00:04Make my body suit.
00:06I don't know how to do this.
00:08Yes!
00:09Bye bye!
00:13It was very challenging to work around you this week.
00:17I just feel like you took a lot of your stress and the challenge out on me.
00:20When I wouldn't help you, it'd be like, you're manipulative, you're a bitch.
00:24I didn't call you manipulative.
00:28Said you're a conniving cunt.
00:29Okay.
00:31Ben Goff, good regulations.
00:33PM, Shanta Yusei.
00:35Saltina shaker, sashay away.
00:42Oh!
00:43You did it!
00:44Oh my God!
00:45Wait, what is on the...
00:46There is a smudgerini.
00:50Sending Saltina home is absolutely devastating.
00:54The room is gonna feel so weird without them and their mantras.
00:58Oh my God.
00:59But...
01:00All right.
01:01It means I'm staying.
01:02That's how the Saltine crumbles.
01:04I didn't need to win to realize I'm worth it.
01:07We'll miss you, Saltina.
01:08I love you so much, girl.
01:10That ass that don't quit.
01:12Don't quit.
01:13I am sad to see Saltina go.
01:15I feel like she has been a guardian angel for me throughout this competition.
01:20But I'm used to friends going home, whether it's me sending them home or somebody else.
01:24So I need to focus on the prize.
01:27And if anything, bring that crown home for Ottawa.
01:29Whoa.
01:30No, wait.
01:31You ate that lipstick.
01:32No, you turned that out.
01:34I was like, it's my third time here.
01:36I need to just have fun.
01:38I need to go out there and just do what I do.
01:40Cause I, if I'm going out, I'm not going out with my head low.
01:44I'm going out doing my shit.
01:46Like you fucking did that.
01:47Thanks, y'all.
01:48Congrats, Van.
01:52I am so focused.
01:54Baby, after my safe streak and then my little stint on the bottom, I'm back on top.
01:58And baby, I have three challenge wins.
02:00I'm going to take that fucking crown.
02:01I'm like the second person to ever win three challenges on Canada's record.
02:04Wow.
02:05After Rita.
02:06And I'm just like, so gagged.
02:08Van has the most impressive track record, maybe in the whole franchise.
02:12This is incredible what she's accomplished.
02:14Does that mean she has the win secured yet?
02:17Not on my watch.
02:19I really thought this was my week.
02:21That's crazy.
02:22You almost done.
02:23That's not crazy.
02:24Is that crazy?
02:25It was a black fucking dress.
02:26Okay, but it was close.
02:27I can't believe out of all challenges, I was in the top four at design challenge.
02:31Like, are you kidding me?
02:33I'm definitely a little sad I didn't get the win, but I mean, I didn't go to fashion school.
02:38So that's what it is.
02:40Can you explain the apple?
02:42The apple?
02:43Oh, she thinks you look like an apple.
02:45Are you not an apple?
02:46No.
02:47I'm a pink carnation flower.
02:48Oh, pink carnation is crazy.
02:50I thought I was giving like Paris spring summer because like they eat apples in Paris.
02:54Bitch, I do this.
02:55They eat apples everywhere.
02:56All right, I think I want to get out of this apple.
02:59Bye.
03:00Yeah.
03:01Yeah.
03:02The other queens should be thanking me because I got out some really big threats.
03:07You really thought the hot glue gun backstress was going to beat me?
03:10I was close.
03:11I have more in me and I am ready to show it.
03:14Oh.
03:15I am ready to fight.
03:16This is what I've came here to do.
03:18How many people can PM take out?
03:21Let's send the rest of these bitches home.
03:25The winner of Canada's Drag Race receives $100,000.
03:31With Tracy Melshore, Sarane Fox, and Brooklyn Heights.
03:37With extra special guest judge, Alison Russell.
03:50Count it.
03:51One, two, three.
03:52It's a new day in the work room and I need to be a top.
03:55I need to prove it to myself and to the world that I am the Dom Top that I claim to be.
04:00Top five.
04:01I can't believe it.
04:02I can.
04:03No, you can't.
04:04I believe it.
04:05She believed he lied.
04:06It feels so good to be in the top five and to be here with everyone having such a unique
04:17take on drag, highly iconic.
04:20This is everything right now.
04:21I am wanting my first win.
04:24I have sent home a quarter of the competition.
04:27Oh my God.
04:28We have like multiple lip sync assassins.
04:30Like.
04:31No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
04:32We have one lip sync assassin.
04:33That title was given in the slay house and we have a lip sync survivor.
04:37Oh no.
04:38And it was terrible.
04:39Girl, you are a lip sinker and you're a good lip sinker.
04:42Assassin, I fear not.
04:45Okay, wait.
04:46That's my third win.
04:47I have one maxi win and a mini win, which is something.
04:52Sure.
04:53I have no win.
04:55And I'm honestly a little frustrated.
04:58Just looking at the statistics, I feel like you've been in the bottom four times.
05:01I've been in the bottom twice and I actually fought my way to be here.
05:04Like I wasn't given the Bieber.
05:06I just feel like so discounted and it's really frustrating me.
05:10And like you two have each other and you two have each other.
05:13And I just feel like nobody sees me as like competition.
05:18I feel like from week one, when I wasn't in the top five, I was just upset at myself.
05:24I felt like I let myself down.
05:26And then throughout the competition, I kind of built up that confidence.
05:29But I've seen all these girls can do.
05:31I believe in all of them.
05:32And I feel like the support is not being given back.
05:35It's like, fuck.
05:36Like what the fuck do I have to do?
05:37And I feel like I fought my way to this top five and like, I'm really proud of myself.
05:41But I just like.
05:43Honestly, just the fact that you fought your way here.
05:47I see you even more now in the top five.
05:49Like I see you as a strong top five.
05:51Thank you.
05:52I can feel that there's a performance challenge coming.
05:55I just have that feeling and.
05:57Oh yeah.
05:58Let's sew again.
05:59This thing.
06:00Girl, too much.
06:01I'd be down for another design challenge.
06:02Oh.
06:03Honestly.
06:04She's not just a dancer.
06:05She's sew.
06:06Not anymore.
06:07She can sew.
06:08Well, let's find out.
06:10Ain't no waiting no more.
06:12Canada.
06:13Seen it already, then hair hurts.
06:16Ladykins.
06:17We've almost reached the climax.
06:21But you can't get wet without making a splash.
06:24After all, Canada's next track superstar never comes last.
06:29Oh.
06:30Fuck it.
06:31Okay.
06:32Mother knows.
06:33Well, hello, my little loose knuckles.
06:34Oh.
06:35Oh.
06:36Oh.
06:37Oh.
06:38Oh.
06:39Oh.
06:40Um, Miss Brooklyn, I think there's a hole in your suits.
06:43Queens, we are one stop away from the finish line.
06:47Ah.
06:48But which of you will earn your spot in the finale?
06:51Oh.
06:52Like we always say, Canada's next strike superstar needs to have charisma, uniqueness, nerve,
06:57and talent.
06:58And it's time for you to be tested on each of these qualities in four separate challenges.
07:03Four.
07:04In this week's maxi challenge, we'll be holding the first ever contest.
07:09Yes.
07:10Wait, this is wicked air.
07:11I'm living.
07:12There will be four rounds, and you must win one of them to claim your place in next week's
07:17fight for the crown.
07:18Oh, my God.
07:19The losing queens will continue to fight for their spot.
07:26Okay.
07:27Goodbye.
07:28There's no second best here, so take big swings because fortune favors the bold, baby.
07:33Work.
07:34First up, your charisma will be put to the test.
07:37You'll take to the main stage and perform a she-larious rap about one of the first five
07:42seasons of Canada's Drag Race.
07:44The queen who serves the most charisma will snatch the first spot in the finale.
07:48Meaning, they don't have to compete in the other rounds.
07:51Uh-oh.
07:52Girl, that's the guy.
07:53Winning the first part of the challenge would be everything.
07:56You should get to sit back and watch the other four bitches compete for the last three
08:00spots.
08:01What the fuck is going on here?
08:02I really don't want to be dragging my black ass and doing four damn maxi challenges in
08:07one week.
08:08And you'll really want to step it up because joining us this week is Grammy Award winning
08:12Broadway darling, Alison Russell.
08:15Hello.
08:16Oh my God.
08:17Come on Grammy.
08:18Racers, start your engines.
08:20And may the best drag queen shine.
08:23Yeah.
08:24Shine.
08:25How fucking gaggy is it that we are about to fight for our spots in the top four?
08:34One of us is moving to the top four today.
08:36Yes, it's a performance, but it's also charisma.
08:37So it's about how you embody in your stage presence and like how you bring it to life.
08:46I really want to win that first round, but especially with charisma bitch.
08:49I feel like I do best when the judges get to see me for who I am.
08:53And so I'm going to give them the taste of Ebony fucking 2,000 motherfucking percent.
08:58Also like a rap about the first five seasons of Canada's Drag Race, I live.
09:03The hardest part of this challenge is that girl, we're rapping and we're rapping quickly.
09:07Like I'm a white girl from New Brunswick.
09:09Do I look like a rapper?
09:11I feel like it's going to be knowing the words, knowing your timing, knowing where the pause is and where the humor needs to be infused into it.
09:19I'm just ready to shut up a lot of people and a lot of the chatter in my head.
09:24Yeah, I feel the same way.
09:25I feel like especially after like the judges seeing me last week, I feel like I'm on such an incline and ride.
09:31So I have to make sure I don't stumble.
09:34Yeah.
09:35The thing about this challenge is like after this week, no matter what, you can't say that no one's counted you out.
09:40because for this one, you have to count yourself in.
09:43You also can't say you didn't earn your spot in the end at this point because bitch, that's literally what the challenge is.
09:47It's earn your spot in the end.
09:48Girl, this is like the obstacle course of drag right now.
09:52It's like, it feels like the whole competition we've done so far all in one challenge.
09:56Yeah.
09:57This is it.
09:58This is our last moment to prove to the judges and show them why we deserve to be in this finale.
10:04I am ready to show these bitches why I sent four people home.
10:07Clock it.
10:08Clock it.
10:09Well, let's get ready to show our full cunts to the world.
10:12Yeah.
10:13Let's do it.
10:17Welcome to round one.
10:18The queen who brings the most pure charisma will claim their space in the finale.
10:23To tell us about season one, it's Ebony LaBelle.
10:26Season one.
10:27It's time to untuck.
10:28Juicebox is an angel.
10:29Help me.
10:30I'm stuck.
10:31We got so many icons.
10:32So where do we start?
10:33Your lace line looks like barf.
10:34Your hair is fried.
10:35That wig should go directly in the corner.
10:36You're wearing some crusty ass golden girls bullshit on your head.
10:37And you're coming for me.
10:38Rita wants a hot dog.

10:44Miss Loose Jaw back at it again.
10:45Strutting like Brooklyn.
10:46Serving like Tracy.
10:47Honey, this is Christmas, baby.
10:48It's called Honey Apocalypse.
10:49It's called Honey Apocalypse.
10:50That wig should go directly in the corner.
10:51That wig should go directly in the corner.
10:52You're wearing some crusty ass golden girls bullshit on your head.
10:53And you're coming for me.
10:54Rita wants a hot dog.
10:55Jimbo want a fight.
10:56And Kiki want a kai kai cause she drove all night.
10:57And Starzy beating meat and she's not sorry about it.
10:59Priyanka, the only thing you're fucking is stupid.
11:02Miss Joan Rivers came back from the dead.
11:04Miss Loose Jaw back at it again.
11:06Struttin' like Brooklyn.
11:07Serving like Tracy.
11:08Honey, this is Christmas, baby.
11:11It's called Honey Apocalypse.
11:13This is Christmas, baby.
11:14Oh, yes, honey.
11:16I'll be sure to look for it at Walmart.
11:18Thank you.
11:20Uh-huh.
11:21Hey, Scarlet Bo Bo, you wore it well.
11:23But Bo are gonna show you how to read a bitch down.
11:26Got a queen of the world, queen of the hall of fame.
11:29And our first Drake superstar off.
11:31What's her name?
11:33Woo!
11:35Season two are coming back to me now.
11:41We got two-headed queens and a forearm step down.
11:44We got 6,000 memorable moments from Eve.
11:47And don't forget, I got a trick up my sleeve.
11:50And you never saw it coming, baby.
11:54Did I see it coming, coming?
11:57Pause for the big reveal.
12:00Oh, haute couture out of cold checkroom ticks.
12:02Your new love verse the sad song and I'm the remix.
12:05And ping, bang, and bomb couldn't stick to the pitch.
12:07Remember when I said I had bad knees?
12:09I lied, bitch.
12:10Big top bi flop, giddy up hoes.
12:12Suki stunning, but Yoko was an oh no.
12:15I bet we'll be seeing that prom queen again.
12:17It's time to serve Northern Lights camera action.
12:20I just have this horrible feeling like something bad is gonna happen today.
12:26Well, whatever it is, I'm sure it's anointment for it.
12:31Kendall gonna give you hip pads for the gods.
12:33Gia gonna give another long monologue.
12:35Isis gonna give you a new trendsetta.
12:38She's queen of the north singing La Poussetta.
12:41Season three, yeah, this feels correct.
12:50You better give me one shot at this roulette.
12:53I mean, what's that French?
12:54I mean, who knows?
12:55I mean.
12:56Like, I literally was fucked by a ghost.
12:58Time the door was open.
13:00And I'm just like, what's going on?
13:02Like, my booty hole, it felt weird.
13:05Like, it felt like a sensation, like a tingling.
13:08Damn mighty tux, bitch throw my lug.
13:11Another bra and panties, this bitch is shook.
13:14Sidewalk to catwalk, Curie to Monroe.
13:16That was so unprofessional.
13:19This squirrel's trip ain't going to plan.
13:21This girl didn't just come here to tan.
13:24Bombay be strutting, boom boom be designing.
13:26Don't forget these hot glue gun girls, they be fighting.
13:29I know that bitch, I am fucking thinking.
13:32I just do not get along with her.
13:33She's not a great person to work with, period.
13:37These cosmetic queens are kinda heated.
13:42Vivian got control, alt deleted.
13:44A new day has come, so just open your eyes.
13:47Giselle snaps the crown, waving lullaby.
13:50Hey!
13:57Season four, Golden Beaver come through.
13:59Sissy's super shoeless, but I guess that'll do.
14:02Got lip sync so sickening.
14:03Got hot tips so spicy.
14:04Got untucks that aren't getting a little feisty.
14:07I said what I said.
14:08And I needed to reciprocate that with gratitude.
14:11Fuck this noise.
14:13I'm not here for it.
14:14Well we're not here for it either!
14:16Fuck!
14:17Save Melinda, and let's do a show.
14:18That double shantay had us all wired.
14:19That ruse of cool was Brooklyn inspired.
14:20Love me like a love bug, flexible and limber.
14:22She's ready to get fingered.
14:23What?
14:24What?
14:25Oh.
14:26She's ready to get ring fingered.
14:27She's ready to get fingered.
14:29She's ready to get fingered.
14:30I'm like, get fingered?
14:31She looks like she's fingered.
14:32These girls are iconic, these girls are hilarious.
14:37And this girlfriend is a whole bunch of girls.
14:38And this girl is a whole bunch of girls.
14:40And they're like, oh, what?
14:41And this is, oh, what?
16:52M.K.
17:15I thought you really found the moments to stop when you needed to which you know I'm a sucker for those still moments.
17:23PM, you brought such great comedy moments. I was dying over the ring finger moment over here.
17:30The physical comedy, the slapstick that you were putting into it as well.
17:33I'm a sucker for a good dance and a high kick into a floor split to a little bit of fingering.
17:39Van Gogh you had such intensity which I loved and like grit and you were like I'm here.
17:45You really brought it to life. Just really magnetic. I couldn't take my eyes off of you.
17:50Your impersonations of other queens from the other seasons. I mean the storytelling from each of you.
17:56It's incredible what all of you are doing.
17:58Well queens we've made our decision.
18:02PM, you're the winner of the charisma round.
18:06Are you fucking saying that?
18:09Oh my god. Outrageous.
18:14I cannot even catch my breath. Thank you. I did it. I'm in the fucking finale.
18:24PM, you have claimed the first ticket into the season six grand finale.
18:29Work baby. Good job Pam.
18:33You may leave the stage and go home. Bye. Bye bitches.
18:37See ya.
18:41I have no idea what these other competitors are going to be doing for the rest of these days up to come.
18:47But all I know is I get to sit back and smoke a joint and watch the show.
18:52Sorry bitches.
18:55As for the rest of you, fear not. Your second chance to advance starts now.
19:03Oh my god.
19:05For your next battle, it's time to unleash your uniqueness.
19:09Girl.
19:10We'll each be given the same dress and we want to see it transformed into a one of a kind couture creation that screams you.
19:20Thank you so much. Redemption.
19:22Be the singular sensation and you'll sashay directly into the finale.
19:27Ready, set, stitch.
19:32Oop.
19:33Here we go.
19:36Bye.
19:45Ooh.
19:46Oh work.
19:47Now what in the...
19:48Girl, that is nothing.
19:49Figure skating tease.
19:51Alright, well let's make you into something nice.
19:54And uniqueness starts right now.
19:57We all get the same dress and we have to transform it into our own unique point of view.
20:04Well, another day, another design challenge.
20:07The hot glue is still drying on my other dress and I have to make a new one?
20:12This is so depressing. I'm smiling again.
20:14Why the fuck do we have another fucking design challenge?
20:17Evil.
20:19Conniving.
20:20Rude.
20:21Do you have any ideas? Anything come to mind?
20:26I'm just figuring out how I can use this without using it.
20:31Girl.
20:32I kind of want to start from scratch.
20:34I'm just saying.
20:35What are you guys thinking over there?
20:37I'm thinking about making something unique.
20:42Well, yeah.
20:44I'm thinking it's my third design challenge and I feel like I pulled a lot of tricks out of my bag and I'm hoping that I have one more to pull out.
20:53After winning both design challenges of the season, I feel like I have this expectation and this baseline level with the judges of what I can deliver.
21:01This design challenge is all about me. I'm not helping anyone anymore.
21:05Van, you know how to make a pleated shirt?
21:10Yeah? Pleat it.
21:13What do you want to know exactly?
21:15How to make a pleated skirt?
21:18But that's the whole thing. Like, what do you think you know?
21:22Nothing.
21:24My plan on this design challenge is to stay far away from Ebony. I do not want to get sucked into that vortex.
21:31This challenge is literally about putting yourself first and getting your spot in the top four.
21:36No one's going home, so I don't need to worry about her. I need to worry about me and getting myself to the end.
21:43I'm looking at this fugly black dress and she is not standing out.
21:50Interesting.
21:51So I need to make her stand out. How can I make her stand out?
21:55Are we feeling denim? Should I do a denim tutu?
22:01I want my dress to tell me what I should do. How do you want to feel?
22:08And I can guide her through into her blossoming moment on the main stage.
22:14Girl, I got you. We're going to get you good. Tell me what you want.
22:20I can get you there.
22:22Okay.
22:27What's everyone's designs going to be like? Like, do you guys have direction yet?
22:33Because I don't.
22:34I am going to do something very different from my first two designs.
22:37I'm going to do a very punk moment.
22:40Are you going to, like, use this ugly fabric at all in the finish?
22:44I am because I think if I didn't, that would be not the challenge.
22:48Oh, wow. And you're going to, like, it's going to be, like, visible.
22:50It's going to be visible, yes.
22:52Damn.
22:53Out of all the design challenges, Van, which one do you feel is the hardest?
22:56This one?
22:57Yeah, because it's my third one.
23:00I also just think, like, it's like, I have, like, an expectation.
23:03So I still need to, like, live up to that.
23:05Karamok, you got praised last week for, like, you know, stepping aside your box and, like,
23:08they all knew you couldn't sew, but you, like, deliver something that, like, you delivered a boring black dress.
23:12So it's like...
23:13But I almost beat you.
23:15Oh.
23:16You did not almost beat me.
23:17I did.
23:18I would say that Van is obviously the biggest competition.
23:20I know she designs.
23:21I know what she can do.
23:22But that's enough from her.
23:24Her time's over.
23:25Let it go.
23:26It's like a competition, Van, sure, whatever.
23:28Second half, Karamok is coming for that fucking crown.
23:30I could have won the challenge over you.
23:32Our critiques were pretty much the same.
23:34Girl, bye.
23:35Karamok acting like she's a fucking designer now.
23:40Bitch, you hot glued fucking fabric to a corset.
23:42Brooklyn said that my look was the best made and she was the most impressed by mine.
23:46What did you get?
23:47She loved my look.
23:48She said she would wear it.
23:50It was just like...
23:51You got the midsection was wrong.
23:52There was no hem on the bottom.
23:53And it was a black dress.
23:54She said there was just minor details.
23:55But I feel like for me, not actually being a designer, just to have those few edits,
23:59kind of ate you up.
24:00Let's see if you can pull it off again without Suki's help.
24:03Let's see, girl.
24:04I want to make a similar dress to what I made for Brooklyn, but kind of in a way that fits
24:09me in my own way and my culture.
24:11I want to kind of do what I did last week, but better.
24:14Wait, guys, guys, guys, I have announcements.
24:17Oh, these are nice.
24:18Don't touch, bitch.
24:19I'm giving uniqueness because I am uniquely terrified and uniquely shit at this.
24:28My biggest fear right now is like, I really don't want my outfit to fall off of me.
24:33I don't want it to break.
24:35I don't want it to look like shit.
24:38So many fears.
24:39Why have one when you could have it all?
24:42I'm happy for your revelation, sister.
24:44Thank you.
24:45And I hope you fail.
24:46Oh.
24:47What?
24:53This dress right here, the one that I'm using as a base, is all gold.
24:56And I only wear it for Acadian events, because our symbol is the gold star.
25:03Girl, I really think that my Acadian-ness is a big part of my uniqueness.
25:08Whether I'm in a queer space, I want to bring my Acadian culture with me.
25:12If I'm in an Acadian space, I want to bring queerness with me.
25:15Because there are two things that are so integral to who I am as a person.
25:20What's your Acadian last name again?
25:22LeBlanc.
25:23LeBlanc.
25:24LeBlanc.
25:25Growing up, I always knew I was Acadian, and I just never had a lot of opportunities to really connect with it.
25:31My nana, Yvonne LeBlanc, is...
25:34Yvonne?
25:35Yeah.
25:36Yes.
25:37Very Acadian.
25:38It's a very Acadian name, yes.
25:39She's actually the reason why I got into sewing.
25:42I found her old sewing machine in my basement.
25:44She didn't grow up with a lot of money, so sewing was more of a tactical reason.
25:49Yes.
25:50My grandma lost her mind towards the end of her life, and she wasn't the same anymore.
25:55So getting to hold onto our love of sewing together has been such a blessing.
26:01But when I went back to Nova Scotia where my nana's from, I've never met any of these people in my life, but they were acting like we've been at family gatherings all the time.
26:08Like they knew me.
26:09Yes.
26:10It was...
26:11Yes.
26:12An Acadian family party is a fucking party.
26:14Another big thing about being Acadian is that we have joie de vivre.
26:17It's what people always say when they meet us.
26:19We have joie de vivre.
26:20Like we fucking love to have fun.
26:22Like hello.
26:23I really want to like go and like experience more of like even like where you're from and just like where my family's from.
26:31Yeah.
26:32Seeing Sammy here and like I see my like nana and my like family and her just feel so much more connected to that.
26:38It's just been so like really nice.
26:42Girl, how are you planning on showing your uniqueness?
26:47I kind of want to just walk down the runway and serve like black excellence.
26:53She deserves to be here.
26:54She's not like I'm not just here because I'm black.
26:56Like I'm not a token.
26:57You know what I mean?
26:58Yes.
26:59And I want to show that.
27:00Being a black queen, you want the sisterhood.
27:04And because drag is also so competitive and also because drag does tokenize a lot.
27:11This is like this sense of like fighting for those opportunities to be like the token black girl.
27:17How is that like growing up in the East Coast?
27:19The East Coast is very white.
27:21And I feel like where there was black kids, it was very much like, oh, you're not black or like you're not black enough.
27:27And I feel like my blackness was kind of stripped away.
27:30Everything was fine around my family, but like being one of the only black kids in my school and like all my friends being predominantly white.
27:37It's more so just like the way you're raised, like what you're around.
27:40Yeah.
27:41It's like people would say like, you don't speak like you're black.
27:43And it's like, well, what do black people speak like?
27:45What about I mean?
27:46Yeah.
27:47I also grew up around that same group of people that were constantly telling me I wasn't black enough.
27:56And so I'm like, okay, well, so then what is the what's the rule book?
27:59Exactly.
28:00Which is crazy because it's like, girl, you're black because you're black.
28:04And there's no right way to be something aside from like being yourself.
28:08Who put that thought there in the first place of what is and what's not black enough?
28:14It's such a nasty, deeply rooted self hate and racism because when you don't see black people act like these caricatures, you're like, what?
28:27You're not.
28:28You're not black.
28:29What the fuck?
28:31And it's so nasty because it's such an intentional plan to help break down any sense of community.
28:42It's like, girl, we're two black queens.
28:45And I think it's sickening because we both have very different perspectives on things.
28:49But that's the important part.
28:50Yeah.
28:51People don't think about intersectionality a lot.
28:54And there's so many ways that people were raised, things that we were learned and so much that we're exposed to are all exposed to different culture.
29:01And the black experience is not one size fits all.
29:05I think we are bonded and have similar experiences, especially when it comes to racism and oppression.
29:12But when it comes to personality and identity, that's all different.
29:15You don't put that into a category.
29:17I love you, sister.
29:19I love you.
29:20I'm so glad that Karamok is here.
29:22And I see her so clearly.
29:24I'm just so happy.
29:26I'm so happy.
29:32All right, top five.
29:34How are we feeling today?
29:36I definitely did something different than my other two looks.
29:38So I'm, like, excited to show the judge something different, but also excited to never touch the sewing machine ever again.
29:43Girl, same.
29:45How do y'all feel about your look?
29:47I feel good.
29:48Just very, like, deja vu from last week.
29:51I'm quite happy with what I did.
29:53This is my challenge.
29:54Girl, redemption.
29:55If you win the sewing challenge, I will.
29:57Hello.
29:58Girl.
29:59Where have you been?
30:01For the first time, I'm entering elimination day without worry about going home.
30:07Well, you escaped another design challenge.
30:09Are you serious?
30:10Which, like, probably is your biggest fear.
30:11We sewed again.
30:12I didn't have to do it three times.
30:14Yeah.
30:15Yeah.
30:16You missed a lot of emotions.
30:17Okay.
30:18So what did you get up to?
30:19Did you sleep?
30:20I got a little bit of sleep.
30:21But you've been going through it, like, every week.
30:23And I feel like to get that first spot, this is so big for you.
30:27So, like, also, like, a performance challenge from, like, the lip sync slayoffs to, like, redeem that.
30:31Yeah.
30:32That was the most important thing for me is, like, the slayoffs felt so different than yesterday's challenge.
30:38Yes.
30:39Because you're competing against somebody.
30:41Yesterday, it felt like the first time that I went out there by myself and just vibed with the judges and did a performance.
30:49I love to dance so much.
30:51For some reason, when I perform, everything goes out of my head except the moment and the fun I'm having.
30:58My mom and I shared this commonality of dance.
31:01From my earliest childhood memories, it was times in the studio.
31:05And then I just danced, and it made my mom happy.
31:10So I just kept doing it, and it really made me happy, too.
31:13I haven't really told you all, but, um, yeah.
31:18This is the, uh, 10th year anniversary of my mom's passing, too.
31:24And I've just been, um, dealing with a lot of regret here and missing her a lot.
31:31What do you regret?
31:33Well, everything.
31:35My mom was, like, one of my best friends.
31:38Uh, yeah, I really feel that I didn't use my time enough with her, which sucks.
31:45Oh, sorry.
31:46Dammit.
31:47I didn't come out to her.
31:48I didn't let her into my partner and I's life.
31:49And just being here and, like, being so happy here, I just really wish.
31:50Want to share it with her.
31:51I feel, like, really close to her being here, and it's been a lot to deal with.
32:07I feel like she missed out on my own a lot of it.
32:09Each time I, like, walk off the stage, I, like, think of how proud she'd be of me.
32:13And, like, yeah, I feel like she missed out on a lot.
32:17Not all parents have to, like, be the biggest cheerleaders, but my mom was.
32:24And later on in life, I found out that she knew I was queer, but she never pushed me to come out.
32:29She was waiting for me to do it myself, and I just never did it.
32:34But she knew.
32:36She knew.
32:37I understand, like, how it feels, like.
32:40Yeah.
32:41It's so weird.
32:42I didn't have the best relationship with my dad, but, like, now that he's gone, I wish that, like, opened myself up more to him and let him see.
32:50I'm really relating to PM in this moment.
32:52My dad passed before I was really able to show them who Ebony was and who Jules was, you know?
32:57And he passed when I was in high school.
32:592018, I came out to him, and this is when I was, like, gay at the time.
33:04I remember he would, like, he, like, looked at me and was like, I won't believe you until you're 18.
33:09So come back and tell me when you're 18.
33:11Because then, you know, I'm an adult, and that was, like, always a goal.
33:15Like, I always wanted to kind of, like, give him that I told you so moment.
33:18It's like, it's like you're missing something that you'll never have.
33:21Yeah.
33:22It's hard when there's so much, like, hurt there, but there was love there.
33:26So I'm trying to hold on to that and remember it.
33:30I'm just proud.
33:31I think we should all be, like, really, really proud.
33:33I'm so proud of us.
33:35We are in the top five.
33:36A sickening top five.
33:38A sickening top five.
33:39Come on, uniqueness.
33:41Oh, my God, guys, they've been warning us this whole season.
33:43That's literally a runway song.
33:44No, I'm telling you.
33:45I was saying this yesterday.
33:47What did they say?
33:48The runway song is charisma, uniqueness.
33:51C-U-N-T, they've been warning us all season with that runway song, which is great.
33:55And, bitch, little did we see it coming.
33:58Well, every season's about that.
33:59Like, everything.
34:00What is that, Sammy?
34:01You know, I always knew.
34:02I always knew, bitch.
34:03Girl, I always knew.
34:05I'm Sammy Laundrie.
34:06I always knew.
34:07Girl, bye.
34:10Girl, bye.
34:11Girl, bye.
34:25Cover girl.
34:26Put the bass in your rock.
34:27Head to toe.
34:28Let your whole body to toe.
34:29Woo!
34:30Muggies.
34:31Muggies.
34:32Muggies.
34:33Muggies.
34:34What?
34:35Welcome to the main stage of Canada's Drag Race.
34:36Class is in session, and we're grading on a curve.
34:38It's teacher's pet Tracy Melshor.
34:39Meow, Brooklyn.
34:40When it comes to serving mother, she wrote the textbook.
34:43It's Sarane Fox.
34:44Mother knows best.
34:45And it's Broadway star and triple threat Alison Russell.
34:47Oh, it's not a threat, Brooke.
34:48It's a promise.
34:49This week, it's a fight for the finale.
34:51Up next, our remaining queens turn a little black dress into a big showstopper.
35:10Racers, start your engines.
35:12And may the best drag queen win.
35:15Charisma, uniqueness.
35:20Category is uniqueness.
35:23First up, Ebony LaBelle.
35:26Oh.
35:27That's the black dress?
35:29I am wearing this sexy little hoochie mama shake-a-ass delicious dress.
35:33Ooh, honey.
35:34And I'm stomping it on the runway.
35:36So delightful and sparkly and ooh and jazzy and a lot of assy.
35:40On the next episode of Dawson's Cheek,
35:43The original dress was not Ebony LaBelle, but this dress?
35:46Oh, it's Ebony motherfucking LaBelle.
35:48It is giving fully realized, conceptual, uniqueness, perfection.
35:56If you got it, flaunt it.
35:59Sammy Laundry.
36:00This dress is giving you high fashion fantasy with a little twist of what's going on over there.
36:07It's a lovely leopard print gown and there's rosebud buttholes all over it.
36:14I feel like this is some real couture shit right now.
36:19It's giving Sahara Jessica Parker.
36:22I know that the judges are saying, is that Giselle Bounchienne?
36:25No, no, no, no, no.
36:27It's Sammy Laundry.
36:28Next, Caramel.
36:30The fantasy is black regalness.
36:33A queen that has earned her stripes.
36:36I incorporated the original dress by using it as a trim.
36:40I'm walking as low as I want.
36:42I'm taking my time.
36:43I'm commanding the stage.
36:44I want to show the judges that the little girl at the start of the season has grown all the way up.
36:49And I'm feeling powerful.
36:52I'm feeling unapologetically black.
36:54Very elegant.
36:55Very.
36:56She golden.
36:57Girl.
36:58Girl.
36:59Girl.
37:00Girl.
37:01And finally, Van Gogh.
37:04Whoa.
37:06I completely transformed the dress.
37:08I took the whole thing apart, used it for patterns.
37:11I took the black material and created a new legging to elongate the body.
37:16And then I made this structural jacket dress.
37:19It's a little McGlare, a little punk.
37:21It's giving Vivian Westwood goes north to the Highlands.
37:25Inspired.
37:26I feel like I manage a rock band.
37:29I have power and I'm not afraid to use this.
37:32I feel like I definitely would be firing someone.
37:34I'm firing the other three designers because they can't sew.
37:36Save Melinda!
37:42Welcome our designing women.
37:44First up, Ebony LaBelle.
37:46Now tell me about your look and how did you transform your dress into this?
37:50So I took the skirt and I used it as this skirt as a base.
37:54I sewed the whole top with some of the fabric that the dress was made out of.
37:58And then I bedazzled and baling, baling.
38:00Yeah, but I did sew!
38:02I love the transformation of this dress.
38:04This is something so quintessentially you that I could absolutely see you wearing out.
38:08I love the classic burlesque elements with little ruffles.
38:13I love the asymmetry, the sparkle, the shine.
38:16It's cheeky but classy at the same time somehow.
38:19I can see that the dress is still there but I feel like the construction could have been tweaked a little bit tighter.
38:25The challenge was to take this black dress and make it uniquely you.
38:29And you can see that in the way that you walked out because you felt like you.
38:33You're not just a glue gun girl!
38:35I am not!
38:36Girl, I feel so powerful like...
38:39And you hit the button so it goes back to finish it.
38:41I was like, okay, work.
38:42Yeah, just watch your nails.
38:43Keep your nails out.
38:44Now who taught you that?
38:45Next up, Sammy Landry.
38:49Hi.
38:50Hi, tell us about your dress.
38:52So I saw the little dress and then I was like, you know what? I'm just going to cut her up.
38:57So I cut the whole thing into strips and that's where these bows come from.
39:02So this is all the remnants of that dress.
39:04I really get your drag and I love how much you know who that is and what she wears.
39:10It's giving me JLo and her iconic Versace number at the Grammys.
39:15But the brief was to transform the dress.
39:20All you did was use little pieces of the fabric from it to accentuate a completely new dress.
39:26But you look good, gal.
39:28Thank you.
39:30Next up, Van Goss.
39:32Tell us about your look and how you incorporated the little black dress into it.
39:36So I used it to create these pattern pieces on the jacket dress moment and then added in the plaid to kind of round it out.
39:43And then I took the little black dress material to create more of a legging.
39:46So it kind of has elements of a little black dress, but a little black legging pant moment.
39:51Well, as per usual, you took a big bite out of a design challenge.
39:55Can't help it.
39:56I love the silhouette.
39:57I love that I can still actually see elements of it in there.
40:00I love that it's so you as well.
40:02It's very your taste, your drag.
40:04It fits you beautifully.
40:06I'm in awe of the craftsmanship, the tailoring.
40:10And I have a Scottish grandma, which is not immediately apparent, so I'm a sucker for plaid.
40:15Just fantastic.
40:17Next up, Caramelk.
40:19Tell us about your look and how you incorporated the little black dress into it.
40:23So this week, Ebony and I had a powerful conversation about our blackness.
40:27So this look was kind of a love letter to that.
40:30Obviously, I don't design.
40:31Last week I did really well, so I didn't want to reinvent the wheel.
40:34So I kind of went in that same structure.
40:36And everywhere you kind of see like the flower trim, I put the black dress as the trim.
40:40And then the flowers over top here and on the train as well and on the do-rag.
40:46You look gorgeous, stunning.
40:48And I can so empathize with everything that you just said about being black and black identity.
40:54But the assignment is uniqueness.
40:57And when you came out, I was struck by how it looked like the look that you designed for Brooke,
41:03which by definition doesn't make it unique.
41:06You can't actually see any of the black dress on your outfit because it's covered by something else.
41:10You do look beautiful in this. It's a great silhouette on you.
41:13I love this color palette on you. It's rich. It's gorgeous.
41:16But unfortunately, it misses the mark when it comes to the challenge.
41:19I think that your black experience is uniquely you and none of us are going to touch that.
41:25That's your gold.
41:27Yeah, the dress is not unique.
41:30But girl, you definitely are.
41:33Thank you.
41:34There's a majesty to this look. There's a regalness.
41:37And there's also an iconography to it.
41:40And that reminds me that all of humanity is one family.
41:43And our mother, if we trace her back far enough, came from Africa, all of us.
41:49And I love the braids, the wrap with the gold.
41:53I just love it.
41:54Thank you.
41:55Queens, we have made our decision.
41:59Van Gogh, you are the winner of the uniqueness round.
42:04Yeah, bitch!
42:08Thank you.
42:09I can't believe I won another design challenge and I'm finally going to the top four.
42:14Oh my God, I can't believe it.
42:16And girl, I'm the designer of the season, clearly.
42:19You have claimed the second spot in the season six grand finale.
42:24Girl, clock it.
42:26Ah!
42:27Now get the fuck off stage.
42:29Girl, don't tell me twice.
42:31Stay left, stay left.
42:32Three queens and two spots remain.
42:35It's time for your next test.
42:38And it do take nerve.
42:41One at a time.
42:42Each of you will take center stage and deliver a dramatic monologue.
42:47For your life!
42:53Who has the nerve to deliver under pressure?
42:56The queen who owns the moment will earn their spot in the top four.
43:01Leaving two of you on the edge of elimination.
43:05No pressure, darlings.
43:09You may all leave the stage.
43:19Girl, I love this dress.
43:22The vibe in Untucked is a little weird.
43:24We have PM and Van who have earned their spot in the top four
43:28and we have three people who are desperate and exhausted
43:33trying to get their spot in the top four.
43:35How are you feeling?
43:36Honestly, really good.
43:37Like, I really love this dress.
43:39I think it's so good.
43:41And I, like, I totally understand the critiques.
43:43Even when I was doing it, I was like,
43:45I don't think this is the challenge.
43:46But I ended up with this great dress.
43:49Lovely gowns. Love the gowns.
43:50It's very Sammy.
43:51It's very me.
43:52I feel like I really did the best that I could do.
43:55And I know that in this challenge, it's all about
43:58keep knocking on the doors.
44:00Because at one point, one of them will open.
44:02I'm really happy about, like, the critiques
44:04and how they saw the look.
44:05And I feel like the look represented something
44:07a little different for me.
44:08But I understand that I didn't complete the assignment.
44:11But I feel like the next challenge is something that's up my alley.
44:14I'm happy that it's more of a dramatic side opposed to comedy.
44:17I grew up doing acting.
44:19I wanted to be an actor before I was a dancer.
44:21And I trained for that.
44:22I feel like it's really, like, that's what I do.
44:24And that's who I am.
44:26I feel good about going into this challenge.
44:28I audition all the time doing monologues.
44:30But again, now there's only three of us.
44:33The stakes are even higher.
44:34So it's like, you have to fight hard.
44:36This is not the time to falter.
44:38If any moment ever that you needed to be at your A game,
44:41it's right fucking now.
44:42I need to win this round because the chances are getting slimmer and slimmer.
44:46And you can literally see that top four spot slipping away.
44:51I've never felt more confident about a challenge coming up than right now.
44:55Or for real, for real.
44:57Like, I need to be in that top four.
45:00This is mine to win.
45:02I do not want to go into that last round.
45:05I know that Karamuk has acting experience as well as me.
45:09But Ebony's a wild card.
45:11And I'm just going to tap into that vulnerable side and show the judges I think they've seen a lot of me.
45:17And they know who I am.
45:19And they know my fun.
45:20And they know my light.
45:21And they know my bright.
45:22And I just want them to see, like, all of the pain and the challenge that I've had to work and go through as a fucking black trans woman to get here and fight so hard.
45:36And I'm going to show them.
45:40I got a lot of feelings right now.
45:42I got a lot of frustration, anger, hurt, sadness, and pain that is bottling up and it needs to come out.
45:53And what better way to do that than this damn monologue?
45:56I love you, but I'm going to really step into my competitive bag and just fucking crush it.
46:04That's what I got to do.
46:05I'm, like, motivated right now.
46:07The engine is heating up.
46:08It's like the calm right before the storm.
46:11I got a mission that needs to be accomplished.
46:15As we're about to get ready to just battle it out to claim our own spots, I just want to say, like, fucking bring nerve.
46:24Mm-hmm.
46:25Let's bring some fucking nerve to this.
46:29Places, everyone.
46:30Curtains up.
46:32I know the material.
46:33This is what I do.
46:34This is my bread and butter.
46:36This monologue, I feel, really speaks to me.
46:39So I'm honestly treating it as every line, every paragraph there's a story being told to the judges.
46:47For this dramatic monologue, I'm going into it really, really different.
46:51I'm taking all of everything I know and I'm throwing it away because I need it to be real and authentic.
46:58And I need it to be from my heart.
47:01Above everything, right now, I want the judges to see the person behind the clown.
47:10I am stripped bare and I'm not moving.
47:13This is vulnerability at its greatest.
47:21Everything changed the day I got the call.
47:23It's the call that every drag artist dreams of.
47:28It's the call every drag artist dreams of.
47:31The one that makes it all worth it.
47:37The one that makes it all worth it.
47:40Peckin' for stage time.
47:42Gigs that no one wanted to take, I took.
47:46Gigs that no one else wanted to take, I took.
47:50All for another chance to get on that tiny stage.
47:54Dancing for tips.
47:55Dancing for tips.
47:57Dancing for tips.
47:59Dancing for tips.
48:02They don't see that.
48:04They think it's all fun and games.
48:08They think it's all fun and games.
48:12Fuck that.
48:13This is work.
48:17Real work.
48:18Real work.
48:20Hard work.
48:22Real work.
48:23Hard work.
48:25It hurts.
48:27And it hurts.
48:30Drag hurts.
48:33My body, it aches and it groans and it cracks and it aches again.
48:37It cracks and it groans and it aches again and it's, it's worth it.
48:46It's, it's worth it.
48:49For those moments of magic on stage.
48:53Every ripped pair of tights, every nasty comment online.
48:57Every nasty comment online.
48:58Every nasty comment online.
49:01Every goddamn drunk.
49:02At the goddamn bar.
49:04I don't care.
49:05I don't care.
49:06I'm a fighter.
49:08I fought to get here.
49:10I fought to get here.
49:12To stay here.
49:14And I fought to get here.
49:16To stay here.
49:18And now I'm fighting for this moment.
49:21My job is not done.
49:24My job is not done.
49:27It all comes down to this.
49:33It all comes down to you.
49:36To see me.
49:51I have to say, bravo, bravo to all three of you.
49:57You all did such a beautiful job.
50:00Caramel.
50:01I loved the stillness and the rawness in yours.
50:04I loved how you stripped everything away and you just stood and delivered.
50:07I thought it was really, really powerful and beautiful.
50:10When you can just stand and deliver, it reached me and I cried.
50:16It brought tears for me.
50:17For the first time, I really thought about how drag is not just art.
50:21You're also athletes.
50:23And when you talked about the pain, what it does to your body, the wear and the tear, I felt that.
50:29It was extraordinary.
50:32Sammy Landry, I loved the emotional journey that you took us on.
50:37You gave us a different side of you tonight.
50:39It is so amazing to see this soft, almost gentle, vulnerable side of you.
50:48Still gave us a little something and I loved that.
50:51I loved that we still saw the Sammy that we know.
50:54Thank you.
50:56Evelyn LaBelle, there was so much heart in this delivery.
51:00Yours was so real and so raw.
51:03It didn't feel like a monologue.
51:04It felt like someone actually speaking these words for real.
51:08You did something when you first walked out.
51:10You chose to peer out for just a moment before you reached your mark up here.
51:16From that moment that you made eye contact, I was locked in.
51:20I believed you instantly from the way you walked out, from where you chose to look.
51:24The way it felt like you were discovering the words that you didn't know what you were going to say next.
51:30When you turned to us and said, it all comes down to you, I felt it.
51:35And it was just those little things that can really make a difference.
51:42Queens, we have made our decision.
51:46Ebony LaBelle, you've got some nerve.
51:50And it's taking you straight to the finale.
51:54Oh, my God.
51:55I am so frickin' happy, y'all.
51:59Oh, my God.
52:00That monologue, it's like I needed to say it.
52:03PM, Van Gogh, Ebony LaBelle, gondragulations.
52:09As the first three finalists, you are the winners of this week's Maxi Challenge.
52:13You have each won $2,500 courtesy of The Well, restaurants, and bars.
52:20What the fuck?
52:22Yay, buddy!
52:25Caramel, Sammy Landry.
52:27For you, it will all come down to talent.
52:34Let's do this, bitch.
52:35Got you.
52:36This is the most important lip sync I'm going to do in this competition because it is the way, the alleyway into the top four.
52:43I want that top four spot. I need to be there.
52:46I know now that I'm going to have to lip sync for my life against one of the lip sync assassins of the season.
52:53I need to show the judges I'm still Samid, and this is my moment to have fun and to fight.
52:59In the final showdown, you must slay to win in a lip sync for your life.
53:06Two queens, one last shot.
53:10Everything is on the line, so step up and show us why you deserve to make it to the finale.
53:19Two queens stand before us.
53:21Prior to tonight, you were asked to prepare a lip sync performance of Fix You by Vida Chambers.
53:31This is your last chance to impress us and save yourself from elimination.
53:37The time has come for you to lip sync for the finale!
53:44Good luck, and don't fuck it up.
53:52And if we go right now, we can leave this town we break.
53:59And if we go right now, we can leave this town escape.
54:07Don't know how it's gonna end, how far you gonna bend.
54:11I'm never gonna walk away.
54:15God, I wish you'd let me in.
54:17I'll forgive the noise and stop pushing while you're pushing away.
54:23I can't stop how I'm feeling.
54:27It's like I need you.
54:31And if you let me, I can fix you.
54:37I can't stop how I'm feeling.
54:42It's like I need you.
54:46And if you let me, I can fix you.
54:52Well, I'll know what you're no longer.
54:53Maybe, but she can do break.
54:55metaphorically
54:58II
55:02an賹
55:03When she signs
55:06She knock her shit up dudes,
55:07I gotta feel free in the mouth.
55:09But now they lay hands up.
55:11I'll come back and zwi膮z at that.
55:13We all want to stay.
55:17We all want to stay.

56:55Caramels.
56:59Well, I guess it really was chocolate.
57:04We love you caramels.
57:05Love you.
57:07I'm feeling elated.
57:10This has been such an incredible experience.
57:12I surprised myself. I've learned so, so much.
57:15And I feel like I've grown a lot here.
57:18I feel like I was the humble one,
57:19the nice one in the competition.
57:22I feel like I should win Miss Congeniality.
57:26Asian baddie out.
57:30And then there were four.
57:35The world has never needed the magic of Dragmore.
57:39So remember, stay true, not strong, and fierce.
57:45That's right. Now let the music play.
57:47You wear it well.
57:49Stip, strip, lipstick, paint it on.
57:53You wear it well.
57:54Use your suits, you.
57:56Ooh, ooh, ooh.
57:58Work it for me, work it for me, me.
58:01You wear it, you wear it, you wear it well.
58:04For the first time ever, Canada,
58:08we need you to select your shark fan favorite queen of the season.

58:20Next time on Canada's Drag Race,
58:22you will write and record an original track
58:25with Rufus Wainwright.
58:26Oh my God.
58:27My biggest competition is Miss Samitha Landria.
58:30We've talked the whole season about like Scissor Sisters,
58:34and then for her last minute to be like,
58:36it's me and Sammy.
58:37Like me and Sammy are the biggest threats here.
58:38I'm allowed to have an opinion.
58:40I'm sorry that I didn't take that moment.
58:42And so am I.
58:43I think you're a big competition.
58:44Great, amazing.
58:45Hello, hello.
58:48Hi.
58:49You girls are just bad at drag.
58:53I was not expecting that.
58:55I feel so excited and ready.
58:58I am the one to beat.
59:00It's like my time to be the bride.
59:02To win, I need to not get in my own way, and I won't.
