00:06broader realignment that includes base closures and fleet changes, according to Bloomberg.
00:11The Houston-based carrier said it will close its Mesa, Arizona, base on January 27th,
00:17ending operations that handled charter flights for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
00:22Avalo said the program did not generate enough consistent revenue to offset operational
00:26complexity and costs. The airline will also remove six Boeing 737 to 700 aircraft from
00:33its fleet and close two bases in North Carolina. Avalo said the North Carolina closures are
00:39unrelated to the decision to end DHS work. The airline will focus on four existing bases
00:44and open a new base in McKinney, Texas, in 2026. Avalo said it flew 2.6 million commercial passengers
00:51in 2025, up 11% from the prior year. A tracker published by Human Rights First said Avalo
00:58operated about 17% of flights for U.S. immigration and customs enforcement through November 30th
