00:00Nick Reiner was in court Wednesday. He was supposed to be arraigned on murder charges for allegedly
00:05slaughtering his own parents, Rob and Michelle Reiner. Things did not go as planned. Remember
00:12when I told you that Reiner scored a big-time defense attorney, Alan Jackson, to defend him in
00:17this case? The same guy who got Karen Reed off? Well, forget I said any of that. Jackson dropped
00:24Reiner as a client yesterday during the hearing. A lot was made of the power attorney initially
00:28taking this high-profile case, with a lot of people wondering how Reiner would even pay for
00:33his pricey services. Now, during Wednesday's proceedings, Jackson told the judge that he had
00:38quote, no choice but to drop his client. But that's all the explanation we got. Your guess is as good
00:45as mine as to what exactly left him. No choice there. Reiner will now be fighting the brutal
00:50accusations with a public defender. Jackson did sort of throw his client a bone, though, and said
00:56that he believed Reiner was not guilty. The suspected killer had been expected to enter
01:00a plea, but that will now be delayed given this whole lawyer swap. His next appearance is set
01:05for February 23rd with a new lawyer, public defender Kimberly Green.
