00:00today i have one thousand dollars to transform my backyard into a restaurant and i'm gonna be

00:12we'll have five hours to build a top tier restaurant from scratch but this is not going

00:54egyptus gets an outdoor flat grill to use to prepare our food and that's it we do not get to
00:59use the kitchen to cook my plan is to make a five-star hibachi restaurant and i've got a very
01:04special guest to help me with that my plan is to make the best burger in la so the critic gives me
01:09a great score the problem is i don't know how to make a great burger but i know somebody who does
01:13there's a restaurant called proudly serving and they have an incredible smash burger right at the
01:17barrio in downtown la and there's a hibachi restaurant my surprise guest is somewhere
01:22around here where are they sandwich this is nick tigiobani he's the most popular chef on youtube
01:28and he's gonna teach me how to make a five-star hibachi meal i'm gonna try it you ready yeah all
01:33right come on into my kitchen best burgers in la the only thing i haven't actually asked for
01:37permission so i gotta convince them to teach me how to make their one and only smash burger let's go

01:47dad i need to beat my daughter in this competition we got a food critic coming at the end of the day

02:05today before we serve all our guests we need to learn how to cook and at least how to build a
02:10restaurant first you're gonna need an apron there we go oh okay well there's three very
02:15important things that you need to be thinking okay the first one atmosphere you mean vibe bro

02:23expensive make wait wait i gotta get my boots make it look like someplace that people want to
02:27come and actually eat okay okay second thing the service look at me carefully remember customer
02:32is always right customers can be wrong i don't know what to do with you okay now this is very
02:38important you need a name for your restaurant what's the name i'm my food don't worry i'm gonna
02:43make it sound french it's gonna be nice it's gonna be like warm warm food food it's a work in
02:49progress it's gonna take a little bit that's okay you'll think of it as you go number three the food
02:53that is to me the most important thing you can have the ugliest restaurant but if the food is
02:57delicious nothing else really matters food matters so you got a double smash burger cheese pickles
03:04and a special sauce right and this one has griddled onions in there as well and you're gonna teach me
03:08how to do this yes let's do it amazing oh if the food critic likes burgers i'm gonna win this thing
03:13training begins now a little bit of oil down onto the top i'm not ready yet we're gonna start with
03:18the food that is the largest what it's a beautiful filet mignon look at it i forgot to tell you my
03:22restaurant is vegetarian hibachi watch the principles if you can get the basics you can
03:26get everything okay okay there should be salt all over it's okay if you get a little bit on yourself
03:30vegetables you're gonna like these here we go three two one we're gonna get two patties on a very hot
03:34griddle all we do is salt two patties and salt now we're gonna do the smashing as soon as that meat
03:40starts coming out the end we're good okay oh wow here we go oh there you go that is perfect okay
03:47one slice of american on each patty okay one slice onion volcano the visual the experience is so important
03:54onion volcano put this down a little bit of oil what's that i can't tell you that's my secret ingredient

04:35sesame seeds this is gonna give us all kinds of umami okay what's umami umami is savory that
04:40flavor comes from things like the crust on a steak look if i flip this over look at the browning that
04:44i got on this that's flavor that's what that is do you mind if i fix this a little bit i don't mind
04:48all right so you mentioned you have a food critic uh judging this yeah it's gonna have to look a
04:52little bit prettier than this okay that was my bad special sauce what's in it if i told you

22:01thing which is a smash burger i thought i would have time to practice did a drone and there was
22:05sabotaging and then i saw that she had a five star how about those balloons huh um doesn't that smell
22:11great are you just using american cheese do you add any other spices or just salt what's the gold
22:16flakes on that one vine wow you guys have a lot of questions i'm gonna be honest i wanted to make
22:20golden burgers and that fell apart here's the secret i put the burgers too close together you know what

22:31because that one in the middle looks like it's a little too close to the one at the end this one
