00:00Tech News are investigating a string of suspicious grass fires in the Rennie area between the 28th of December and the 6th of January.
00:08We're interested to speak with anyone in the area of Bull Plane Road, Savanak Road or Patterson's Road during that time.
00:15Particularly interested with anyone that has seen the actual fires themselves.

00:24And if anyone travelling through the area had dash cam footage during those times, you can upload that footage via a secure link via our Facebook page.
00:34How many hour fires were there?
00:35We're investigating a total of five fires at this point.
00:39And on that, no matter how small a fire has occurred on your property, we're interested in hearing from you.
00:44What sort of damage should those fires do?
00:46At this point, no damage to infrastructure or injury to persons.
00:50Do you believe they've intentionally mentalised that?
00:54I can say at this point that they're suspicious in nature.
00:57That'll be a question for forensics and an ongoing investigation.
01:02We're in extreme fire danger periods right across Murray River Police District and in northern Victoria.
01:09No time to have fires.
01:12Certainly at times we have accidental fires.
01:15But unfortunately we have deliberately lit fires.
01:20And this is a serious criminal offence.
01:22Not only endangering property, but endangering life.
01:26And we have certainly seen fatalities as a result over the years.
01:30We will be putting every resource we have into investigating a string of fires that we believe that were deliberately lit.
01:37And our detectives will talk more on that investigation.
