Jesy Nelson doesn't think she will ever "accept" her twins' devastating health condition and wishes she could just be a "mum" not a "nurse".

00:29that they will probably never walk.

00:31They'll probably never regain their neck strength.

00:33They are going to be in wheelchairs.

00:35But I, you know, listen,

00:37there's been so many stories where, you know,

00:40parents have been told this

00:41and then their children have gone on

00:42to do incredible things.

00:44So I believe that you've just got to manifest this

00:49into existence.

00:50They are still smiling.

00:51They're still happy.

00:52They have each other.

00:53And that's like the main thing

00:54that I'm like so grateful for

00:55because they could be doing this by themselves,

00:57but they're twins and they're going through this together.

00:58And I think that's beautiful.

01:00So I just, all I can do is just try my best

01:02to be there for them,

01:04give them positive energy,

01:05keep doing physio.

01:07And it took for my mum to be like,

01:09they don't move their legs

01:10how they should be moving.

01:12And, you know, bless my mum.

01:14She is a worrier.

01:15She worries about everything.

01:17And at the time,

01:18I always just thought that was just my mum being mum

01:19and worrying.

01:20But then I was like, you know what?

01:22They actually don't move them a lot.

01:25And that was when I was like,

01:26every day I'd start to gradually see it be less

01:28and less and less.

01:30And it makes me so sad

01:31when I watch back the videos now

01:33from when I watched them

01:34from when they came home from NICU to now.

01:37You literally,

01:37as I watch back the videos,

01:39they're moving their legs

01:39and then week two,

01:41week three,

01:41it gets less and less

01:42to like a month.

01:43It just stops.

01:44Yeah, you just see the deterioration.

01:46And that's how quick it is.

01:47And that is why it is so important

01:50and vital to get treatment from birth

01:53and it is detected from birth.
