00:00In other news, a strong 6.4 magnitude earthquake jolted the Davao region today,

00:06causing chandeliers to sway and a giant Christmas tree to rock inside a local hotel.

00:11A few minutes after the shake, Davao City Fire District personnel arrived at the said hotel

00:16and conducted safety inspections. Across the city, parents rushed to the schools to fetch

00:21their children. In other schools, students were quickly evacuated to open areas with medical

00:27teams deployed on standby. While office workers at the Banco Central ng Pilipinas and Davao

00:32City LGU were also seen evacuating, many were seen utilizing hardhats as they moved to safe

00:38zones. The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has confirmed it is

00:44conducting inspections to assess potential damages caused by the quake. Authorities warn that

00:50aftershocks are expected and the public is urged to practice dock, cover, and hold and to heed

00:56all official advisories.
