00:18but many barangays in the cities were still submerged in deep floodwaters.
00:23Right at the entrance of Navotas, the sea looks like a giant swimming pool.

01:27A broken floodgate coinciding with high tide is being blamed for the flooding in Malabon and Navotas.
01:33The broken floodgate is the same one that malfunctioned last year when typhoon karina caused severe flooding in both cities.
01:40Last year kasi, di ba nadaanan siya ng fishing vessel.
01:45So ngayon, tingin ko nag-deteriorate na rin yung floodgate natin kaya nagkaroon na rin ng mga malfunction siya.
01:52At present, repairs to damage floodgate are ongoing.
01:56Target is to finish repairs by the first day of July.
01:59The local governments of Malabon and Navotas are also providing free transportation to residents.
