05:17Quick two-game trip tonight here in New Orleans.
05:20Tomorrow night against the San Antonio Spurs.
05:23First things first, try to take care of business.
05:26Tell you what, two wins in a row.
05:27Stu, things are trending up a little bit right now.
05:29Well, they're going to continue to trend up.
05:31They've got to continue to improve on the defensive side of the ball.
05:34Because if they don't, that two-game streak could end.
05:38To do that, they're going to continue to fall offensively.
05:40The load will fall to Luka Doncic, the league's leading scorer.
05:44A typical Luka game in their victory against the Grizzlies on Sunday.
05:49I mean, the guy has no problem scoring points.
05:52He gets to the free-to-line, and the assists are the important thing for me.
05:56And thinking of assists, LeBron James has always been a pass for Scott.
06:00But when he's looking to be aggressive offensively, he really makes the defense think about who do they cover.
06:06Because if you're open, he's going to get you the ball, as he did, against the Grizzlies in route to 20 deep points of his own.
06:12They need those two to set the tempo offensively.
06:15Well, the Pelicans are struggling, no doubt.
06:18They're in the cellar in the West.
06:19They have the second-worst record right now in the NBA.
06:21They've lost seven in a row.
06:23However, tonight, they're healthy.
06:25And all their best players will be on the floor, including Big Z's Zion Williamson.
06:29And the Lakers are in town.
06:31So teams seem to pick up their A-games when the Lakers show up.
06:34And speaking of Zion, this is the guy, you look up the word rimseeker, you're going to find Zion.
06:40Well, he gets into the paint almost on every possession.
06:43That's where he scores almost all of his points other than at the free-to-line.
06:48So defensively, the Lakers better be able to help one another and have their bigs there to contest when he goes in there.
06:54And then from the outside, Trey Murphy to third.
06:57He's learned to put the ball on the deck a little bit more, which has really opened up his offensive game.

07:08So we talked about how the Lakers defensively have struggled a lot this year.

08:24for really the first time in his career and it was going to take him a while to get to his full win.
08:29Well, it seems like he's gotten there.
08:31If you look at his numbers of late, and those are, of course, the last 11 games,
08:34but he's even taken a big uptick from there in those two games against Memphis.
08:38About 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.
08:42And back to kind of doing everything here in year 23 where no one has done before.
08:46And guess what?
08:47The Lakers are going to need him again tonight, right?

08:53And this Pelicans team, Billy, as you just alluded to,

16:23And the defense has just really picked up in intensity during crunch time.
