00:00Prosecution rates are at historic highs in the district.
00:06We are prosecuting crime like never before in the District of Columbia.
00:12Fewer than 10% of the cases go unprosecuted,
00:18compared to almost 70% of the cases that went unprosecuted in the last administration.
00:26So, as a direct result of the increase in prosecution, tougher enforcement, crime is coming down in D.C.
00:34And since the enhanced federal partnership and the surge as well, as you can see, homicide is down 60%.
00:44Robbery is down 49%.
00:48Carjackings are down 68%.
00:53And as someone new to the district, that was the one thing that people constantly talked to me about, carjackings.
01:01And they are now down 68%.
01:04Overall crime down 32%.
01:06The reason the crime isn't down even more than that, than the 32%,
01:13is because now we're accurately counting assaults with a deadly weapon,
01:18as opposed to minimizing them with lesser or non-D.C.R. crimes.
01:24And this proves what law-abiding citizens have always known.
01:28And that is that when laws are enforced, communities are safer.
01:32That's how they start to arrest.
01:37So, we're U.S.
01:39So, now we're going to laudate here.
