With the winter season out in full force, it is important to stay ahead of the weather if snow or ice is in the forecast. AccuWeather's Jon Porter demonstrates how WinterCast&trade; can help you prepare.

00:07safer and make the best decisions in all kinds of weather and of course we've

00:12been dealing with some snow and ice across portions of the country and we

00:15have many tools in the AccuWeather Wintercast to help you to best navigate

00:20snow and ice during this time of the year and you can act you'll notice that

00:26when there isn't wintercast in effect at your location and that's any time that

00:30there's an expectation of accumulating snow or ice that'll be listed right on

00:36the front page of the today screen you can see those two different events in

00:39this particular case you could tap on that and that's what brings you into the

00:43AccuWeather Wintercast and that shows you when snow will start when it will end

00:47and the amount of snow in this case that we're expecting one to three inches at

00:51this location you have the latest interactive radar you can tap on that but

00:56there are several other features to help you to make the best decisions the

00:59snowfall amount probability shows you the prospects for a little bit more or a

01:03little bit less snow so you can see how confident AccuWeather snow experts are in

01:09the forecast at that location we also have the hour-by-hour snow amounts and you

01:14could accumulate that over the course of the storm by swiping to the left and

01:17watching that snow add up and various maps that you can look at as well and of

01:21course I always point out to people we have many details in the hour-by-hour

01:25forecast in order to help you to make the best decisions and when you tap on

01:30the hourly tab you go into you can select many different parameters

01:33including snow at the top and look at you see this risk for the snow

01:37probability in that hour how much is expected and you can of course tap on

01:41that hour for complete details AccuWeather has been proven to be the most
