Renate Reinsve talks about returning home to Norway and staying with family and friends while chatting with THR at the 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival. Plus, she talks about getting to know 'Hamnet' star Jessie Buckley during this awards season.
00:00I just love everything you slip into. I feel like it's so surprising. It's so structural. What's the strategy?
00:07Well, I think that's it. I love structure and I love to have kind of a feeling of something.
00:16I feel a little bit held up by these dresses.
00:21Yeah, and you need that.
00:23Now I've been in Norway for like a month and my ego shrunk back to its natural state.
00:29And now I'm back here.
00:32And it's fun to be back, but it's good with some rest too.
00:37I did take a peek at your Instagram and saw you had some nice celebrations.
00:42It looked like we're just some friends.
00:44Yeah, normal stuff.
00:46Yeah, they are. Yeah, it's all normal up there.
00:52What is it like for you to slip back into that?
00:54Well, I'm a little bit overwhelmed now because coming back to Norway is so important, like to come back to something very grounded and where I feel like myself, like really, and with my friends and family.
01:07It's very important to me.
01:08So, but this is fun too.
01:10This is fun too.
01:11Yeah.
01:11It's fun to see you wave to Rose Byrne.
01:13I'm just curious because her performance is so brilliant.
01:15Who else have you really loved getting to know or also just see?
01:19Well, Jessie Buckley has been really great to get to know her.
01:23She's such a good person and she's a great, I love her work.
