00:00I'm so happy to see you. I have some things to say to you.
00:04But, number one, are you a New Year's resolution person?
00:08Not really, but there's a feeling of newness when the clock strikes 12, wherever you are.
00:15There's a feeling of, there's like an invigoration, I feel.
00:20You know, I do think that I have to choose to have faith right now.
00:26It's a harder choice to make, but it's like, I have to.
00:32And, you know, I think about, okay, it's a new year.
00:36I know it was just yesterday that it was 2025, but it's also just like,
00:41let's use that symbolism and see what we can do for ourselves with it.
00:46I just want to give more people the benefit of the doubt,
00:48and I want to, like, continue to make space for all voices in my own, like, small circle.
00:56And as I go through my life, I've just turned 40, so it's, yeah, I don't know.
01:03I'm very appreciative of, like, where I'm standing right now physically
01:08and the privilege that I have, I obviously, I'm lucky,
01:14and, like, I get to be here with my friends who make good art
01:18and celebrate art.
01:26Happy birthday.
01:27Did you get to go get drunk and go to Target?
01:29I didn't, actually.
01:31It evolved.
01:32That idea evolved slowly.
01:36But I ended up just doing roller skating party upstate,
01:40which was absolutely perfect.
01:43I had a cortisone shot in my knee so I could skate all night,
01:46and I never took my blades off.
01:48It was awesome.
01:50And my daughter and son were there, like, till, like, 10 p.m.
01:53It was so epic.
01:55Yeah.
01:56Amanda, I was thinking, this is what I wanted to say to you.
01:58I'm thinking about, no shade to anyone else,
02:01but the year that you had, Long Bright River, Housemaid, Anne Lee,
02:05the diversity of those and the fearlessness of each of those performances
02:09was so stunning.
02:10And I just think, how do you carry that into a new year?
02:13Because it spoils you, right?
02:14Are you reading everything with a more discerning eye?
02:18I think the discernment comes from, like, who I'm going to be working with.
02:23Not necessarily what I'm going to be doing,
02:25what role I'm going to be playing,
02:26but, like, if someone has a clear vision,
02:30I'm just, and I'm just, I'm all in.
02:32If it's a good story and it's important,
02:35it doesn't have to be that important,
02:36but, like, if they're saying something interesting,
02:39something that I'm going to want to learn, too,
02:41that's, like, a shoe-in then.
02:43But I think, I just want to do comedy right now.
02:46And I, but I had my plan already back last year.
02:49I had a, six months ago, my plan was to do this TV show called Skinny Dip.
02:54And actually, my, my best friend bought the show for Amazon.
03:02So not only am I getting to do this, like, awesome Carl Hiaasen comedy,
03:07but I'm working with him.
03:09And I haven't worked with him since Big Love.
03:12So it's, like, great, it's crazy.
03:13It's the stars have aligned.
03:15You know the supermoons tonight?
03:17And it's not going to be this close for the rest of the year.
03:20And do you know the thing next to the supermoon is Jupiter?
03:23Isn't that incredible?
03:25So you're going to see a piece of light next to the moon,
03:28which is, like, 30% bigger, apparently.
03:31And, because it's that much closer.
03:33And it's a wolf moon, and I think, and the Jupiter is next to it.
03:39Isn't that crazy?
03:40I feel like we're as right as with the desert.
03:43Yeah, I mean, there's no light, I mean, there's little light pollution right now.
03:47So, I don't know, I'm excited.
03:48I, I, I, I'm going to keep, I'm going to be looking up.
03:53It's magic.
