Officials in Venezuela now place the number of deaths due to U.S. strikes in the country at 56. At least 24 Venezuelan security officials were killed in the Saturday strikes, joining the already confirmed 32 Cuban police and military members.

00:07And now U.S. officials are confirming a major escalation.
00:13According to CBS News, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered strikes on sites inside Venezuela,
00:20including military facilities, as Washington sharply intensified its campaign
00:25against the government of President Nicolás Maduro.
00:29Sources tell CBS News the Trump administration is aware of reports of explosions and aircraft over Caracas.
00:38But as of now, there has been no official public comment from the White House.
