The Freeborne — Peak Impressions 1967 (USA, Psychedelic Rock)
The only album from the Boston, Massachusetts band. It blends psychedelic rock with heavy electric keyboards and groaning guitars. Somewhat unusual for the time, the album features a wide range of instruments, including cello, recorder, harpsichord, and trumpets in addition to standard guitars, keyboards, and drums. Freeborne guitarist Bob Margolin, who left the band immediately after recording the album, switched to blues rock and made his mark on the music world, playing with Muddy Waters and other renowned musicians.
