00:21was granted by Magistrate Sara Afika Zulkipli at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital after the initial
00:28remand period ended on Saturday. He added that the extension allows further investigations
00:33under Section 307 and Section 435 of the Penal Code as well as Section 4 of the Corrosive and
00:41Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act. Police previously said the 62-year-old suspect
00:47was arrested near Batang Benar in Nilay at around 4.15pm on December 27. He was found with burn
00:56injuries on his face, body, hands and legs. Investigators believe the man has technical
01:01knowledge and specialized skills in fabricating explosive materials based on devices and equipment
01:08seized from his rented house.
