Eyewitnesses have come forward to share harrowing accounts of the deadly explosion that rocked Delhi near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening. At least eight people have been killed and several others injured after a powerful blast reportedly took place in a car parked outside the Lal Quila (Red Fort) Metro Station around 6:30 PM. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
Witnesses described scenes of panic and confusion as a loud explosion shattered the evening calm, followed by thick smoke and flames engulfing nearby vehicles. Many reported seeing people running for cover, while others rushed to help those injured on the ground. “It was like a bomb went off — cars caught fire instantly,” said one eyewitness, recalling the terrifying moments after the blast.
Firefighters and police quickly reached the scene, deploying seven fire tenders to control the blaze. The area was cordoned off as emergency teams worked to rescue victims and prevent further damage. The Delhi Police Special Cell and forensic experts are now examining the site to determine what triggered the explosion.
