04:08last week, but I know I've got some really nice things from viewers. For instance, one
04:11lady sent me a bottle of that stuff that Mr. Cooper advertises, you know, oh, you splash
04:17it all over. Not like that, like that. And another lady, she said she took my measurements
04:24from the screen the last time that she saw me on television, and she's knitted me a sweater.
04:29Well, I think we shall send this to Ronnie Corbett. Now, this chair, in fact, was sent
04:37to me by a lady, said it's for my cat to sit on. It's made in China, the chair, not the
04:41cat. And I suppose you could say it's a sort of chairman meow. I'm afraid I got that out
04:49of a Christmas cracker. But the best present that I had was sent to me by a couple of songwriters.
04:54Their names are Craig McCleary and John Lawrenson. In fact, I liked it so much that I thought
04:59we'd put it in to our new song for the week. It's called Swallow.

08:36of those women's magazines and like all men, I turned to my favourite feature, Affairs of
08:43the Heart. But the trouble is, since the Sex Discrimination Act has come in, it seems
08:48to be all the letters came from men and believe me, they are worse than the women. I mean, hark
08:52at this. Here's one signed, Frantic Frederick of Feltham. Dear Mary, here's the bad news.
09:01Every night as I lay in bed, I can hear my girlfriend snoring. And the even worse news
09:05is she lives three streets away. And here's one from Tearful Terry of Tunbridge Wells. Dear
09:12Mary, my girl said she'd buy me a pair of riding jodhpurs as an engagement present and then she
09:18jilted me. What should I do? Dear Tearful, sue her for breaches of promise. This one comes

09:37Eyes, will you marry me? A silly answer. Honestly, I wish I hadn't written to her now. One advantage
09:47though of the Sex Discrimination Act is that, of course, from now on, men and women must
09:52get equal pay. Personally, I am delighted because I just discovered that Florence of the Magic
09:58Roundabout gets five quid a week more than me. But just to show there is no discrimination

16:00It's a very, very hectic foreign tour. And in fact, I think we did about 17 countries in 12 days.
16:06Blink once and forgot Yugoslavia completely. But it's funny how they call you different things in different countries. For instance, in France, I'm sort of known as Monsieur Cliff. In Spain, it's El Richardo.

16:41Anyway, when I got back to the hotel in Peking after having done a live television broadcast, I said to the manager, you know, what did you think? He said, I mean hotel-y.

16:58But the other thing about doing television abroad is that you seem to look different on the screen, you know, in the various countries.
