01:57perhaps your husband wouldn't approve of are you self-policing yourself at all no i didn't even know
02:02there was a word called self-policing but i'm not i'm looking at a script as uh if i want to do it or
02:08not so even earlier if i didn't want to kiss at that particular time i wouldn't if i wanted to i would
02:15so would you kiss on screen i mean if i don't know i haven't even discussed it with say but i've
02:20definitely told him that he can't kiss on screen see that's what i mean that's what i'm self-policing
02:24i'm policing him you clap with both hands you can't say that then they expect him to be totally cool
02:29about it as far as far as you go yeah well i i know he won't be comfortable um you know if i kissed

04:27movies and some movies to be remembered by but i'm sure like few of the episodes of coffee with karan
04:32that my name was involved in that's going to go down with me fortunately unfortunately we'll get to
04:37that a little later but we're going to talk about the two of you now this is a very rare visual
04:41uh for everyone out there their first cousins their brother and sister my father and her father
04:45real brother no i know that thank you for people who don't know so you all were close not close what
04:50is the dynamic i think we were really close when we were young i have uh two uh vivid memories of
04:56kareena as a child i remember we used to go every sunday to our grandmother's house in chimbur
05:01dadi's house and uh the first visual i remember there was a small nala behind her house
05:06and during the monsoons there were these little crabs that used to come and me and my sister and
05:11and kareena and lola and we used to love playing with those crabs so crabs small crabs so the first
05:17time uh bebo saw the nala she thought it was a swimming pool and she dived in it oh god that was my
05:22first visual and the second thing i remember and it really and it disturbs me deeply is that uh
05:27ridima and kareena used to play house house and i used to be the husband and i used to keep
05:31alternating between ridima's husband and her husband that is very incestuous because i was
05:37the younger one i'm glad i don't remember this i was around four years old and she and ridima were
05:41six years old but i clearly remember that and it still disturbs me that's deeply disturbing that is
05:46okay now uh let's get to the fun stuff so so you and ranbir have a lot in common that's been my
05:53observation because you all are two people who know everything that's happening in the movie and you
05:58know what what our common factor is you think i am the information supplier of course ladies and

07:25uh conjectures which is your word and uh speculations uh having said that uh uh yeah i think after a long
07:33time in my life i feel really centered i feel a bit settled i feel a bit happy uh professional and
07:39professional life and personal life and uh that is as much as i can tell and i think the next time
07:45i'll speak about a relationship is when i'm engaged to marry somebody should we clap
07:51fantastic what is this yeah so okay so we'll pretend that we'll talk about katrina of course why should
07:59we not but we'll pretend that you don't have to admit or deny it just don't say anything but we'll go
08:03ahead okay so if he were because you're part of the family are you very approving of this choice

08:14she's wonderful you spent time with her yes recently in fact i was in beirut and she was
08:19shooting with saif and i hung out on the sets and we spent a lot of time uh saif was very unwell one
08:26day and he took an injection and went to sleep and you know i it was like five in the evening and i was
08:31really bored so um we had coffee together also that day and we spent like two three hours together just
08:37chatting katrina cap and kareena kapoor in beirut having coffee that's one coffee with karan i would
08:43love to have been but why what why is it such a big deal no it's nice now but also you haven't
08:48really been friendly with a colleague of yours no but i mean like she hits all of them anyone who's
08:54a contemporary actress kareena can't be a friend what are you guys doing why are you guys deciding
09:00it's true it's true but we're not here to make friends which contemporary colleague co-actor have
09:04you been a close you always like like somebody who's 10 years your senior or somebody who's just
09:07born why will i know i'm not here to me a i'm not here to make friends b i'm here to work
09:13see i have too many friends already so why will i want to yeah so you can't be katrina dipika's
09:19friend but now because katrina but i really like her because she she's really nice and she has a
09:24heart and she comes across as really really warm she's lovely and um you know she doesn't pretend
09:29to be somebody that she's not i'm really happy for them so you've been somebody who's always come
09:35out and spoken about your relationships you haven't really denied them yeah so what is your take on
09:39on perhaps runby stand of not talking about his personal life though he's like in a sense he's a
09:43public figure so do you think that i mean before she answers this i think i i also spoke about my
09:48personal life and i yes you did in the film industry and i think uh it just got a bit too much
09:54you know to handle because it kind of comes before your work uh and also because i'm not
09:58married so there are other false rumors that you know kind of come besides it and having said that
10:04i don't know if she's spoken about every relationship of hers most of my relationships
10:10exactly barring the you're you're trying to say the ones besides the i'm just asking
10:15he has information he has some scandalous information listen i've been really nice right
10:21now my answer was that do you want me to start talking no no i mean just wait i mean kareena is
10:25my role model and just shut up listen that's it just start come on he's dead all right so we were
10:32talking about what happened last season now you of course came with saif so things worked out really
10:37well you got married post that so no kind of turbulence post your appearance last season
10:41as far as you there was quite a stir that the dipika sonam episode caused right after they came on it was
10:49of course something that was talked about for a year after that uh what was your complete reaction i mean
10:55to be honest uh you know i'm all for tongue-in-cheek humor you know i'm i if somebody you know make some
11:01good vice cracks on people uh i enjoy it i do it myself uh so it's not that i felt bad it's not that
11:07i was hurt but i think the whole reaction of people around me right uh press my parents uh you
11:15know everything just kind of exaggerated everything a bit too much uh but you know to be honest i have
11:21they are my good friends sonam and dipika after the short episode me and imran were waiting to
11:25shoot after them they came to my van we chatted so you all are friends we all are you know piece of
11:30the same pod uh so i think yeah somewhere i i think few things were said which were not which
11:36they could have avoided uh but it's fine i'm over it uh you know i don't uh hold anything against
11:42them how comfortable is it to work with your ex-girlfriend did it ever pop up as a problem not
11:48at all uh because uh we are actors and and me and the picker have been friends after a breakup and
11:55we're very comfortable because we both are dedicated actors we love acting we love our jobs and we're
11:59very ambitious uh you know we want to uh do our best uh so i don't think all this we didn't carry any
12:04baggage we just were very happy that we were getting an opportunity to work with ayan to do
12:09a film of this nature and that was it is it always comfortable um for you as well when you bump into
12:15an ex-boyfriend of yours uh do you manage it comfortably or is it does it cause some kind
12:20of a no like a little bit of an awkward moment not at all i i mean i'm i don't have you worked with
12:28an ex-boyfriend no never would you i don't believe in looking back so but working is a different thing
12:38altogether yeah but i've never worked with an ex-boyfriend and i have no problem so honestly
12:44there's never really been an opportunity where you know we've had to work together but tell me
12:49has it been easy settling into the whole family zone with saif because you know there is like it's
12:54it's a large family he has two children you know he has from his ex-wife and you know you had to come
12:59in and kind of be a part like we haven't really spoken about that on the show because you got married
13:03right after the third season um so has it been easy for you what is your relationship like with the
13:09kids i it's pretty amazing it's the way it should be they have a wonderful mother who uh has brought
13:15them up i think the most well brought up children because i mean whenever i always remember sarah is
13:21you know standing up and going adab so they have that both sarah and ibrahim and uh i'm like a friend
13:28to them you know she's like me and her sometimes chat over a glass of champagne and that's the way saif
13:33always wanted it and that's the way i want it you know and whenever she wants to call me if she's
13:39sometimes if she wants to like you know talk to saif and she can't talk to him or she you know she
13:45doesn't want to tell him that sometimes she'll talk to me so she'll discuss her boyfriend problems
13:49with you she discuss discusses her boyfriends with her father also oh really yeah yeah i mean she's
13:54brought a couple of them home so it's fine so it's all cool yeah yeah but your uh your parents
14:00are both movie stars and you know that has of course it's huge ups are there any downs at all
14:05to be that i think they're always two steps ahead of me if i'm doing anything they've already done it
14:09uh you know it's out of experience uh have you asked any scandalous questions to your dad
14:14never because you've had a very colorful life in the movies so have you ever spoken
14:17about things like that no you know he always shies away from anything uh uh where requires a
14:26conversation uh he shies away from it uh it's always uh directed towards my mother or you know
14:31she's always the medium through which it reaches me so he never says anything what is he like with
14:36your girlfriends i don't think he even i don't think he he has come to terms with the fact that his son
14:44can have a girlfriend he doesn't want you to have a girlfriend no he does but he i don't think he is
14:48ready to accept uh in a way that you know oh let's have a meal together he's awkward is it i think
14:55also i'm awkward so maybe i'm putting it on him so i never really try to uh you know go for dinner
15:01with a girlfriend with my parents but maybe i should try it sometime soon but your mom is still
15:06more in the zone like that is she cool with your current girlfriend she's been cool with every
15:11girl that's the truth because you know i mean i feel so sad that you know my parents have worked
15:17so hard you know all these years and they've reached a certain age and they're always dragged
15:21into these unfortunately dragged into these controversies where you know me and another
15:25girl are concerned and they are absolutely not like that you know yes my mother will be a little
15:29possessive about me because i'm only son right like every punjabi mother like how hero auntie is about
15:35you also but that is about it they don't really tell me what to do what not to do who to be with
15:39who not to be with them very happy if i'm happy as long as as long as it's a girl that's all they
15:43want well anyway uh and what about you we discussed about of course uh you know you being completely
15:51cool with the girl he's dating and uh we've gone back to that yeah yeah because you have plans you
15:57told me about what you plan to do if he gets married to her well i mean i think so what do you
16:03you know you know you know my plan right no i told you i told you that so please share your plan

16:57get married yeah i would love for kareena kapoor to perform my wedding yeah who wouldn't
17:01and also free right yeah and plus sef would be coming in all the male lyrics he won't do anything
17:08why sef won't dance yeah he's what you mean he's a nawab he won't dance on a wedding
17:13so tell me the current person you're involved with uh has um is there any awkward moment with people
17:19from her past like say with salman when you meet him it's all fine uh you know again there's so
17:25much said where uh uh salman's was concerned that you know because of all of this uh but he's always
17:30been very encouraging he's always been very uh sweet to me he was a part of my first movie right
17:35and whenever i meet him he's extremely nice he's warm and absolutely and i i think there is so much
17:40that media writes that i think that makes that builds a certain misunderstanding which
17:47which doesn't quite exist which doesn't exist and that's about it so whenever you've met him
17:51you felt absolutely there's absolute warmth and it's all fine so all good in the hood then
17:57everything life is good you're still not telling us about your wedding plans which is fine we'll get

19:08a threat no i think from my first one was my first one was a big disaster and i think everybody in
19:13the industry mr sharuk khan mr salman khan mr amir khan have been very warm towards me uh you know
19:18uh and i think it's the same they haven't changed i don't think i think they've crossed that that
19:23barrier of success and failure to really they've achieved so much exactly so i'm really happy you
19:30know in the place i'm in and i'm really grateful uh you know this year i've had a very successful
19:34film at the same time i've had a very unsuccessful film also so i guess uh you know i've somewhere
19:39got in people you know took me up to a pedestal and they slapped me and put me back you know to
19:45earth so it's it's been a good uh all-rounder of a year for me amir seems very fond of me he seems
19:51really fond of you yes he said that you're saying that so shyly like it like like like you had a
19:57little crush on him uh did you sorry i did not have a crush on amir khan you're loving this now
20:05you just laughed because i was attacked so what is what how come you and amir uh developed this uh
20:14i don't know he's i mean he's been very warm uh towards me especially after you know he came for
20:20the success party he he came and celebrated with us right and not just him you know when i spent time

21:06said that she's walked away with the film you liked her that much i loved i loved her in the film

23:09and what they're doing absolutely i feel extremely jealous uh you know when somebody gives a good
23:13performance uh but i consider everybody from amita bachand right down to varun davan as my
23:17competition everybody has competition thank you
23:21what about you what about me what about me every time i ask her she says what about me
23:29have you seen the work of some of the new girls you are this is the second time you've asked me

23:37i saw student of the year yeah and and i love the film no not the film what do you think of alia
23:43i love her a lot of people tell her that she's like a young kareena kapoor you take that as a
23:47compliment or you want to kill her i don't know mixed feelings you have mixed feelings about that
23:57does it irritate you when you hear that no i mean like why would she want to be kareena kapoor

24:17nothing i play video games i watch a lot of dvds i watch a lot of tv shows what do you all do together
24:21i play a lot of football he's done with my friends and it's a very normal lifestyle there so you don't
24:28go to like exotic locations like ibiza i go to many exotic locations i went to i keep going to new york
24:34actually all the time and of course the ibiza thing became a little bit of a so when you get caught like
24:39that is why did it become such a big thing i don't know uh yeah i don't think i was caught uh you know
24:45i i believe you're not caught but i mean you know there was a snapshot that is what if there was it's
24:49fine it's okay yeah i have the same feelings i feel if you're actors and today i think uh everyone is is
24:56a paparazzi photographer because of your camera phones and uh it comes it's part and parcel of show
25:00business here you're an actor somebody will click you and they'll put it on a on a social networking site
25:04and suddenly you know somebody picks it up and it just it becomes a big news and i think it's like
25:10the media overreaction or you think it's part of the territory no it is i mean if if you're an actor
25:13you have to be ready for all this you can't really you know you don't shine it at all not at all do you
25:18fear the pressure of being faithful when you get married do you fear that that that will come on as
25:22like a a sword dangling dangling over you know to be honest this perception of me really being this
25:27unfaithful dog has has been a bit too stretched and i think if you're in a relationship and if you're just a
25:33good human being you will be faithful right because that's what uh you know you need to be in a
25:37relationship because you don't want your partner to be unfaithful to you correct so i think uh too much
25:43has been said because of my previous relationship but um i would like to believe that i'm i'm a good
25:48guy and i'm and i'm faithful and when you're and if and when you're deeply in love with somebody you
25:54will obviously be faithful because your emotion will drive what's the point of being with that person
25:58right yeah lovely love means being faithful yeah that's what you think
26:04because have you been faithful i've never been in love really no you have been in love once we
26:08spoke about it yeah not for national television yeah why is your love story not for national
26:14television let's talk about every other actor's story is supposed to be on national television

27:29just sitting because everyone's just yelling it's like an italian family italian mafia family but an
27:36entire family on one side and all the entertainment is actually in your mother she's the most entertaining
27:42woman i know she's hysterically yeah have you ever had like a long time with bavita auntie she's very
27:48funny she's she's very honest also very very frank it reminds me of papa actually i mean she's as frank as
27:54him yeah yeah she has an opinion on everything and she makes no bones about what she has to say that's i
28:02mean you know that's the way mom is and i think everyone loves her for that including my daddy yeah
28:08because mom's always been somebody who's you know you know she'll always like stand for the right
28:12thing she'll want to do the right thing and that's you know that's where she's the backbone of you know
