Sandra Bullock Confirms What We Suspected All Along About Her Relationship With Keanu Reeves

00:09Back in 1994, actor Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves met for the first time while working

00:15together on the film Speed. Although Bullock and Reeves had both starred in projects prior,

00:19they were still gaining traction as up-and-coming Hollywood stars. In the film,

00:23their characters found themselves trapped on a bus rigged to explode. Reeves starred as Jack,

00:27the man tasked with saving the innocent passengers, and Bullock played Annie,

00:31the vehicle's unexpected driver. However, the two almost never met, as other actors were

00:36initially considered for both of their roles. Because of the on-screen chemistry between Bullock

00:40and Reeves, audiences were left wondering for years if their acting relationship ever carried

00:44over behind the scenes. Although it's been nearly three decades, Bullock has finally opened up about

00:50what really happened between them. During a profile of Keanu Reeves for Esquire, his former Speed co-star

00:55Sandra Bullock makes an appearance to speak to the actor's kind character. In addition to praising him,

01:00she also sets the record straight about what their relationship was in the 90s,

01:04with some quotes that made the rounds online. Bullock said,

01:07Keanu's a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he's ever dated. I don't think there's

01:11anyone who has something horrible to say about him, so maybe we could have survived. I don't know.

01:16Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not.

01:20Bullock also revealed,

01:21I would spend as much time as I could filling a silence, just to feel comfortable. And the

01:25more I jibber-jabbered on, the quieter he would get. And I thought, I don't understand what's

01:29happening. And then a day or two later, he would arrive with a note or a little package,

01:33saying, I thought about what you said, and he would have his response.

01:36The two eventually played love interest once again in 2006's romantic drama The Lake House.

01:41Unfortunately for fans, however, their on-screen chemistry seemingly never made the jump to real

01:46life. In a 2018 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Bullock discussed the upcoming 25th

01:51anniversary of Speed, which helped launch her career and what it was like working alongside

01:55Reeves. And while fans clamored for their friendship to grow into a real-life romance,

01:59Bullock said it never happened. But she also made an interesting revelation.

02:02While not directly coming out and saying it, Bullock revealed she crushed on Reeves during

02:06her time on the Speed set. Bullock gushed,

02:08I think about how sweet Keanu Reeves was and how handsome he was. It was hard for me to, like,

02:13really be serious. Like, he would look at me and I'd be, like, giggling.

02:16The Bird Box star went on to note that her dress kept flying up during filming,

02:20and Reeves was respectful enough to keep her dress down, a move she still appreciates to this day.

02:25When asked if they ever dated, Bullock laughingly stated,

02:28Never dated him. There's just something about me that I guess he didn't like.

02:32Hey. Don't forget about us.

02:37Reeves seems like he's really good at playing hard to get. It's also safe to assume that there

02:41are boatloads of women out there who can call The Matrix star the one who got away. Just like Sandra

02:46Bullock. The real downer in Bullock's case, however, is that Reeves also had a crush on her.

02:51It seems like Ellen had an agenda, as in a 2019 appearance on her talk show,

02:55Reeves dropped a bombshell revelation. After DeGeneres showed him Bullock's 2018 appearance

02:59on the show, where his Speed co-star endlessly gushed over him, Reeves revealed that the feelings

03:04were reciprocated. When asked if he knew about Bullock's crush on him, he shook his head no,

03:08and proceeded to give the most smooth answer ever. Reeves revealed to a rachis ovation from the crowd,

03:13she obviously didn't know I had a crush on her either. DeGeneres responded with what all of

03:17us were thinking, saying,

03:18I can't believe you both had crushes on each other. Reeves revealed that the reason the crush

03:22never went any further was due to his professionalism, as he explained,

03:26We were working! He did go on to note that Bullock is both a wonderful person
