Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu opened up about playing Kens in “Barbie,” what their sexual “Kenergy” was like in the film and much more in a pink-carpet interview in Toronto with Narcity's Brooke Houghton and Josh Elliott. Liu also joked about his Ken doll while Gosling introduced us to his sister Mandi, whom he described as the original Barbie.

03:51all of their design inspirations

03:52for this Ken Dome

03:55misguided interpretations

03:56of what manliness is,

03:58so it's, like,

03:58a lot of mini-fridges

03:59and beer

04:00and horse paraphernalia,

04:02like, a lot of horse imagery,

04:04because, you know,

04:05for whatever reason,

04:06you know,

04:06we get it in our heads

04:07that horses equals manliness,

04:10and the more horses you ride,

04:12the manlier you are,

04:13and so just horses

04:15are everywhere.

04:16They're riding in slow motion

04:18on the flat-screen TVs,

04:19they're, like,

04:20horse sculptures,

04:22everyone's somehow

04:23dressed like a cowboy.

04:24Yeah, it's, like,

04:25someone broke and telephoned

04:28what being a man was,

04:29and then the Kens got it,

04:30like, 700 people down,

04:32and were just, like,

04:33okay, great,

04:33we're gonna do that.
