Today's Bible Verse: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’" ~Matthew 25:40
Transcript
00:00Hello once again everyone, you know who I am and you know what I'm all about.
00:04And today is going to be my very, very first review video.
00:09That's right, I have never done a review before on this channel or any channels I've done on YouTube back then.
00:18Prior to this channel here on Dailymotion.
00:21So, I've never done a review.
00:25Never have.
00:26But, I've always wanted to start reviewing things and I thought, you know what, why not take the time to do this very first review, right?
00:37So, first off, before I begin of what we're going to be talking about today, I'm going to say two things.
00:45First off, Happy New Year!
00:47Happy New Year to everybody.
00:49Happy 2026.
00:50I know that 2025 was like quite a year.
00:57It was definitely quite a year.
00:59It was good for some, not good for others.
01:03You know, 2025 was not for everybody.
01:06You know, people had their best moments and worst moments.
01:10And, you know, even I myself had my best and worst moments of 2025.
01:15So, but, whatever happens in 2025, it stays there as we move on to 2026, into the new year.
01:25Second thing is that in a future video, I'm going to be talking about why emulation handhelds are awesome.
01:32And why I think you should definitely get one.
01:34So, yeah.
01:37So, be on the lookout for that hot take video as well.
01:41And, well, let's begin.
01:43So, what am I going to be reviewing today?
01:45So, today I'm going to be reviewing the TrimUI Smart Pro, an emulation handheld that runs on the Linux OS, which I think is pretty cool.
01:54It's pretty cool.
01:56That, you know, now I'm going to say off one thing here, and that is I have never owned anything that was Linux related before.
02:07Okay?
02:07I've never owned anything that was, like, Linux related.
02:13Until one day, I got a Raspberry Pi and the TrimUI Smart Pro, and pretty much I learned about the cool things you could do with them.
02:24You know, with Raspberry Pi, I've been doing Bottasera with it, which I'll talk about in a future video.
02:31I'll talk about Bottasera in a future video, because this video is about the TrimUI Smart Pro.
02:38Now, the TrimUI Smart Pro has, like, a lot of custom firmwares.
02:42Well, pretty much has some big ones.
02:45You got your popular ones that people are using these days.
02:49And, you know, that's pretty cool, and I'm going to get into them in this review too.
02:53So, anyway, without further ado, let's get started.
02:56So, I'm going to start off with the hardware itself.
02:59What do I think of the hardware?
03:00Well, first off, I'm going to address this real quick.
03:05The picture that you're seeing in the video is a white TrimUI Smart Pro.
03:08Keep in mind, this is not my picture.
03:11I do not own a white TrimUI Smart Pro.
03:13I actually own a black one.
03:16So, just giving you guys an FYI on the situation here.
03:24If you want to call it a situation, I don't care.
03:26But, yeah.
03:30So, let's start off with the hardware.
03:34Now, there are three different colors of the TrimUI Smart Pro you can get.
03:38The black one, which I have.
03:40A white one, which you see in this picture.
03:43And a DMG colored one, which is in the style of the Nintendo Game Boy.
03:48The original 1989 Nintendo Game Boy.
03:51Which, I think the DMG one looks pretty cool.
03:55Even though, I got a black one anyway.
03:57So, because, you know, I like black.
03:59You know, black's a cool color.
04:01It's a cool color.
04:03So, starting off with the hardware for real this time.
04:07The hardware is actually pretty unique.
04:09Pretty PSP-like.
04:11I like how PSP-like it is.
04:15And it's funny how I say that.
04:17Because this hardware can actually do PSP games.
04:20It has an okay D-pad.
04:24You know, I've seen better D-pads.
04:27But, it's an alright D-pad.
04:29It has two joysticks.
04:33Which are pretty light joysticks.
04:36But, that's okay.
04:37And then you got buttons which are, like, not too clicky.
04:44But, they are a bit clicky.
04:47If you can hear the clicks.
04:49When you're pressing the buttons.
04:51You know.
04:52So, the buttons we have are the D-pad.
04:56The A-B-X-Y-L-R-L-2-R-2.
05:00We have a power button.
05:02You have your volume adjustment buttons.
05:05You also have this function switch.
05:07This FN switch.
05:08Keep in mind, I was not prepared for this review.
05:10So, keep in mind.
05:11I don't know what some things do.
05:14But, the FN switch.
05:16I have no idea what that does.
05:19Okay.
05:20I have no idea what that does.
05:22But, I'm very sure many people who use custom firmwares would probably know what it does.
05:30Or, what it can make the function button do.
05:33So, and you also have this host port on the top.
05:39And, you have your DC input on the bottom.
05:44And, not only that.
05:45You have a microphone jack.
05:46A headphone jack.
05:47And, you also have your SD card slot.
05:50Which is important.
05:51Because, the TermiEye Smart Pro uses SD cards.
05:55But, it's micro SD cards.
05:57Not regular SD card.
05:59So, if you want to play your ROMs.
06:03You're obviously going to need a micro SD card.
06:06To, to utilize the ROMs.
06:09Now, I really recommend.
06:10Keep in mind.
06:11I really, really need you guys to keep this in mind.
06:14When you have an emulation handheld.
06:16Like, the TermiEye Smart Pro.
06:18So, keep in mind.
06:21If you're going to use an SD card for these handhelds.
06:24Make sure you have a clean one.
06:27Because, you don't know what some of those SD cards that come with the system may have.
06:34So, sometimes it'll have games that don't work properly.
06:37And, all that stuff.
06:38So, I think it's best, in my opinion, if you have a clean, clear SD card.
06:46Maybe, bought from a store or Amazon or wherever.
06:50So, I make sure that my cards are all clean and cleared up.
06:54And, nicely formatted.
06:57So, that way, I can start adding the games I want to add.
07:00You know, and there is a friend of mine that, you know, that also wants a TermiEye Smart Pro.
07:08I actually bought it for a friend of mine as well.
07:12So, yeah.
07:14That's how cool the system is with me.
07:17You know, and I think others should definitely get one.
07:20Either that or the new TermiEye Smart Pro S.
07:22Which I'll eventually get in the, um, in the future.
07:25And then I can review that one too.
07:27So, yeah.
07:28Yeah, so the hardware quality, pretty awesome.
07:33Pretty well done.
07:35Um, you know, has your essential buttons and stuff like that.
07:39But, what can it emulate?
07:41What can it emulate?
07:42So, from what I know, this thing can do 20 plus emulators.
07:46So, you can do, like, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, NES, Super NES, PlayStation, PlayStation Portable.
07:56And even Portmaster, which is actually pretty cool.
08:00Because, you get to play some ports.
08:02You know, like Sonic Mania, all that stuff.
08:05On the TermiEye Smart Pro.
08:07Now, that's actually incredible.
08:09That's incredible right there.
08:11That you can do that.
08:13You know, I find it to be a very incredible feature of the TermiEye Smart Pro.
08:17Is that you get to do Portmaster and all these other emulators.
08:22Right?
08:23But, it's obviously recommended that you get these ports legally.
08:27You know, for games like Sonic Mania and stuff like that.
08:30I highly recommend you start getting these games legally.
08:34You know, definitely get them legally.
08:36You know, I support legal buying things.
08:42Alright?
08:43I support getting things legally.
08:45So, definitely get games like Sonic Mania legally if you want to play them on the TermiEye Smart Pro.
08:52Because, we're not about piracy here.
08:56So, now that that's out of the way with the emulation and stuff.
09:03Let's get into the custom firmwares.
09:04Let's get into the custom firmwares.
09:07I actually want to get into the custom firmwares of the TermiEye Smart Pro.
09:10I'll get into actual three of them.
09:14I'll get into the actual popular three.
09:17That you can download for the TermiEye Smart Pro right now.
09:23And, the first one I'd like to mention off the list is CrossMix OS.
09:27Now, CrossMix OS, I don't really think has seen that much updates.
09:32I think NextUI and Noli probably may have seen more updates than that.
09:39But, CrossMix OS is an improved version of the stock OS.
09:44That's what it technically is.
09:45It's like a big improvement to the stock OS.
09:49And, it's definitely recommended if you want to, you know, if you want a huge improvement to the stock OS.
09:56More emulators, more features, all that cool stuff.
10:00You know, you can get things like a music player and all that other cool stuff.
10:04So, CrossMix OS, definitely a good custom firmware.
10:10I really wish it would get more updates.
10:15That's what I really hope for.
10:18So, I really hope that Cizia 64 is working very, very hard on the next update.
10:26I bet he probably is.
10:28And, yeah.
10:30So, that's CrossMix OS.
10:31Next is NextUI.
10:33So, NextUI is a very, very simple front end.
10:36It's a fork of MinUI.
10:38And, NextUI, what it has, it has a simple front end.
10:44The front end is very simple.
10:45It has a nice suspend menu, which I should have mentioned.
10:50There's a menu button on the Trimui SmartPro that lets you bring up a suspend menu.
10:56And, that's very useful for custom firmwares like CrossMix OS and this one, NextUI.
11:03And, if you're using Noli, which is a fork of Bottasera, you can actually use it as a hotkey, which is actually pretty cool.
11:14That's pretty cool, you know?
11:17I think it's pretty cool.
11:18What about you guys?
11:19What do you guys?
11:20Let me know in the comments.
11:21Let me know in the comments.
11:23Excuse me.
11:24So, pretty much, NextUI is very, very simple.
11:29You know, you get to customize the LED lights on the joysticks, which is pretty cool.
11:37You get to even customize the menu colors.
11:41You get custom themes and stuff like that.
11:44That's awesome.
11:46And, even CrossMix OS lets you do that.
11:48You can even do custom themes on there, too.
11:51So, yeah.
11:52I definitely like the idea of customizing your Trimui SmartPro with these custom firmwares and custom themes and custom music.
11:59Which, my only flaw of NextUI is that there's no music.
12:04I really wish they can let you customize the music.
12:09Like, you know, as in custom songs and stuff like that.
12:12My other criticism with NextUI is that there's no netplay feature.
12:16I really wish they have a netplay feature or have Retro Achievements support, which is a pretty awesome idea to have.
12:26I mean, you've got to have those things.
12:28I mean, netplay is definitely essential, but Retro Achievements probably is not.
12:34But, like I said, it's whatever you guys think.
12:37I mean, do you guys think that Retro Achievements is essential?
12:40I mean, I think it's technically essential, but to some it's essential, but to some it's not.
12:47You know what I mean?
12:49But, netplay, you know, it's definitely an essential thing to have in your emulators and in your frontends.
12:57So, but, you know, either way, NextUI is definitely a good custom firmware to have for the Trimui SmartPro.
13:07And the last one I want to get into is Noli, which is a fork of Botticera.
13:13And if you don't know what Botticera is, that's a fork of Emulation Station.
13:18And Botticera is similar to Retrobat.
13:23I know, that's a lot to take in, isn't it?
13:26But, like I said, in the future I'll get into Botticera.
13:28But Noli is actually another good custom firmware.
13:33It's definitely just like Botticera.
13:37You know, I haven't really utilized most of Noli's features and what it can do.
13:43But, most of the time I've just been adding games to the Noli and been playing them on my Trimui, which is some good stuff.
13:55It's some very good stuff when it comes to that.
13:58So, as far as that goes, awesome.
14:01Awesome custom firmware.
14:02So, pretty much, this quick review is definitely quite a, well, it's not a lot of things to talk about when it comes to the Trimui SmartPro.
14:15But, it definitely is an interesting little device.
14:19It definitely is.
14:20And, I really, really think y'all should get one.
14:26You know, it's really amazing.
14:28It can run emulators.
14:29You can do a music player on it and stuff like that.
14:32So, and it has cool custom firmwares like CrossMix, NextUI, and Noli.
14:40Which, to me, I just call it Botticera Portable.
14:44But, yeah.
14:46Yeah, so I definitely think the Trimui SmartPro
14:49is definitely worth having.
14:51And, I definitely think you all should have it, too.
14:55And, yeah.
14:58That's it for this review.
14:59I just think, in conclusion,
15:01that this is a neat device.
15:03And, it's definitely worth having in your emulation handheld collection and all that stuff.
15:08Whatever you guys have.
15:10Or in your console collection or whatever.
15:12You know, if y'all are collecting handhelds or something,
15:15hey, this might be good for you.
15:18You know?
15:19To those in the emulation handheld scene.
15:22So, pretty much I like to end this video off with a Bible verse.
15:25And, let's see what today's Bible verse is.
15:28The King will reply,
15:29Truly I tell you,
15:30whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
15:32you did for me.
15:34Matthew 25, 40.
15:35So, definitely study that verse.
15:38I definitely recommend y'all study that verse.
15:41And, pray to God every day.
15:43Repent of your sins.
15:45And, you know, follow Jesus.
15:47Because, Jesus is Lord and Jesus is King.
15:50Alright, so, that's it for this video.
15:54I am the K2R2, or the K2 Retro Second.
15:57Have a happy new year.
15:58Have a happy 2026.
16:00And, stay tuned for more videos coming soon as always.
16:03God bless.
16:04I am the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2, or the K2R2.
