The London Ambulance Service is urging people to take extra care as they celebrate New Year’s Eve. Commander Becky Owens encouraged revellers to drink responsibly, plan their journey home and wrap up warm as crews prepare for one of the busiest nights of the year.

00:08However, if you plan on drinking, please have a good meal beforehand.
00:13Make sure that you're having soft drinks and water and make sure that you've got a plan for how to get home.
00:19We are expecting it to be incredibly cold on New Year's Eve and therefore please make sure that you wrap up warm,
00:26particularly if you plan on drinking because then you might get colder than you realise you are.
