13:23the money to cancer charities and you think one of these four killed him well they're the only ones
13:27that can be alibed at the time johnny disappeared from view on the zip line and was stabbed the
13:32producer the rival contestant camera operator and the runner all the other crew members have been
13:37accounted for but these four were elsewhere out of sight of anyone else we know johnny started his
13:43descent on the zip line at 8 39
13:49was stabbed halfway down at 8 40 and then reached the landing platform at 8 41.
13:57took him a total of two minutes from top to bottom but the thing is
14:01while our four suspects can't be alibied at the time of the murder they all got back to the landing
14:08platform by 8 43.
14:16this camera was left filming and two minutes after johnny's body reached it
14:21there's dale arriving closely followed by chas
14:24chas lisa and then rick but if one of these four climbed the tree to stab johnny coming down the
14:36zip line here it's going to take way more than two minutes for them to climb back down again make
14:41their way through dense jungle to end up at the landing platform here when we walked it it took us
14:47half an hour even if we'd run it would still take us at least 20 minutes so how can it be that
14:54one of these four did it of all the elaborate ways to murder someone and all during the filming of a
14:59tv show why do it like that why make it so difficult and why do it so publicly
15:15chief commissioner this is a surprise commissioner paterson any chance we can meet tomorrow

21:04the hotel where the crew are staying search the victim's bedroom the first search exciting ds thomas
21:11has brought me up to date with the post-mortem nothing surprising there and toxicology shows that
21:16the victim had a significant amount of painkillers in his system i checked with the crew medic and
21:21he was taking them for his knee injury he sustained earlier in the competition the person who interests
21:28me is chas simons tell me about her she's a pe teacher from reading recently divorced has an eight
21:34year old daughter and she was front runner on the show you know what bothers me most about this murder
21:39case for the killer's plan to work johnny felden would have to get to that zip line first
21:45which does make me wonder if miss simons was in on it or someone made sure she'd lose
21:52actually inspector there's something else a bit fishy about miss simons i recovered cctv
22:00from outside the production office
22:03and chas has hurt her right ankle but look when she gets out of the vehicle she forgets herself and
22:15puts pressure on it doesn't even flinch she's facing the injury so chest did throw the fire

22:41it's painful right yeah it wasn't pleasant but they've got me properly dosed up so i'm doing

25:37to suck so much the secret clue part oh a memory stick and if the victim didn't want anybody finding it
25:46then maybe there must be something of relevance to the murder case on it

26:50crime you didn't know that what thing is i don't buy this johnny backstory you see ds thomas spoke to
26:57mr feldman's lawyer turns out he was threatening to take you to court for negligence that leg injury
27:05he had that was down to an accident on set one that could have been avoided according to the lawyer
27:10to cut costs the full health and safety checks weren't carried out on your watch so johnny could
27:18have ruined you if that came out okay well and you think his death has solved all that for me do you
27:26are you joking me take a look around all my investors have just pulled out the tabloids are
27:31now sniffing around and the show that i've spent years developing and working on will now never be aired
27:36on tv so things aren't looking particularly rosy for me are they tell me mr mayo what's the insurance
27:42situation for you right now insurer i well i don't know i'd have to look into it what you haven't already
27:49no and i'm curious to know now johnny's been murdered if you stand to get a hefty payout

28:16would have covered murder so rick mayhew definitely had motive but they also said it is not the first
28:25accident reported on set they reckon it's a cursed production but if it was rick then how how did he
28:33manage to stab johnny felden here where we found the knife and the pearl and then make it all the way
28:39back to here arriving on camera two minutes later it doesn't make sense it can't be done maybe this
28:46whole negligence thing has something to do with the memory stick you found earlier officer rose the memory

33:13put it in the sidecar with the other pieces of evidence which means if i put it there someone
33:20must have taken it which also means for someone to do that you must have left it unattended right
33:26let's not focus too much on that right now inspector but um you dusted the sidecar for print yes i did
33:33i mean it took ages all night to be honest did you get a match yes i did somewhere
33:45so who took it officer rose who took the memory stick
33:48what's going on what are you doing mr buckingham just a man you can't come in and just go through my
34:06stuff you got a warrant it's not your room it's the hotel's and they gave us permission sir
34:10we found the memory stick that you stole from our officer's vehicle and we know what's on it

36:15ready to be handed my marching orders have the handcuffs slapped on me for what i'd done but
36:20then the next thing i know johnny's hanging from that zip wire dead
36:27so how come lisa balm never told us she and johnny were an item that's a very good question ds thomas
36:34and there was a lot of talk in that video when they weren't you know and towards the end that
36:40didn't look like pillow talk to me more like a row any chance we can get a a lip reader to look at
36:47the footage and get a transcript when they're talking obviously not when they're
36:51i definitely don't want to read that
37:05i'm just curious to know how it was you let the evidence unattended

39:40idea for island warrior without crediting you or paying you any money for it we also know you only
39:46came here to try and sabotage the show you're not denying that you don't look particularly surprised
39:51by that allegation you just look guilty i was at a networking event two years ago i got chatting to
40:00rick and i pitched my idea to him everything he's been filming this last month is exactly what i pitched
40:06same format same location and what was his response when you pitched your idea

40:18next thing i hear it's been green lit and they're in pre-production on it did you not confront mr
40:23mayhew about it there was no proof i had the idea first or i tried to sell it to him didn't write it
40:27down so you applied for a job as a runner taking a chance rick wouldn't remember you after two years
40:34and came here for revenge there's been a lot of accidents on this shoot including johnny feldon's
40:41knee injury that's your doing you can't prove that actually yes we can sorry to disappoint but we've got
40:50a recording of a conversation you had with johnny two days before he was murdered a recording um i'll
40:56talk to you about that in a moment in that recording you opened up to him about why you were here and the
41:00damage you'd done you caused the accidents to get back at rick rick stole my show lisa what do you
41:06mean he deserves everything he's gonna get but johnny didn't react the way you expected did he
41:14just so angry that i could have spoiled his chances of winning you were behind all of it
41:18my leg it was because of you just you need help lisa just go getting that money for his mom and how
41:26did that make you feel sharing your secret with johnny only to have him throw it back in your face
41:31and now you'd opened up to him you must have been worried about what he was going to do with that
41:35information are you saying that i killed him because of this plus the fact that his death has achieved
41:42everything he wanted it's destroyed rick's tv show your revenge is now complete no no no look i know how

44:51earring doing as a crime scene it might not be connected in any way sir i mean it could just
44:56happen to be there that is a possibility we don't even know if it's an earring for sure

48:43through the footage from the morning of the murder and there you are helping lisa to put the contestants

48:58abdomen oh sorry just caught you in the buckle and when johnny tightened his belt he forced the pin in
49:05deeper piercing his kidney we know johnny was taking some strong painkillers for his leg injury so he
49:11hardly felt it and all he was focused on was trying to win it's not over yet when johnny got to the
49:21zipline he took his backpack off removing the pin and opening up the wound and then he got on the zip
49:27wire and he seemed fine no one would have noticed a tiny speck of blood on his mud stained shirt but as
49:34he sped down that line the momentum of the descent accelerated his blood flow and he bled out and by
49:42the time he reached the bottom he was dead you then timed your arrival at the landing platform so you
49:50arrived first lowering his body obscured from the xz360 camera that you had conveniently placed at which
49:58point rick cleared the set for the paramedics okay come on everybody clear the set and you seized your
50:03moment to stab johnny with this knife in the same tiny wound that was made by the pin so that the
50:12post-mortem would only find a single knife wound and the following half hour you had two things you had
50:21to do first you had to remove the pin from the backpack and clear up any visible marks left on it
50:26you then headed into the forest and placed this blood-stained knife near the zip wire
50:39making sure to trample the brush and leave scuff marks so it would look like someone climbed the
50:44tree to kill johnny but it was while you were faking that crime scene that you made one tiny mistake
50:52with all that running johnny did all that weight from his backpack that tiny pearl had loosened and
50:59when it was back in your pocket it broke off and when you knelt down and pulled out that decoy murder
51:06weapon that little pearl fell out if it hadn't we'd never have found it and you might have literally
51:13got away with murder but why i don't understand why why indeed well for love wasn't it dale i mean a
51:21very dysfunctional kind of love for miss bulmer you were friends right yeah we were friends but like
51:30nothing more for dale it was more i mean a lot more you felt jealous yeah and you really liked her
51:38i just wanted more of of her and the thing is you already had a pretty strong motive for killing
51:44johnny that man was about to get you sacked probably arrested your whole future in television ruin and now
51:50he was about to ruin lisa after she revealed to him her plans to sabotage the show
51:57i think you realized you could help lisa out as well protect her i'm telling rick everything you've done
52:03lisa kill two birds with one stone and that's what made killing johnny felden all the more worthwhile
52:09because now you were saving the woman you love from having her life destroyed all of which explains
52:15why the murder had to be so public in the middle of filming it was the final flourish because dale
52:21killing johnny during the middle of the grand final would completely destroy the game show
52:26that rick mayhew stole from lisa what in killing johnny dale not only believed
52:32he was saving himself but he was giving lisa everything she wanted in the vain hope of winning
