07:19Thank you very much.
07:49You saw how Bangalore is all decked up and prepared to welcome the new year and now let's move on to the state of Tamil Nadu from Chennai. Ananda Keshav will give us all the latest updates.
08:07Thank you very much.
08:37One more important thing is the bike racing and the bike stunts. Even on Christmas Eve, we saw how one person dressed as Santa Claus drove very rashly on the Maduro oil flyover.
08:48And therefore, 30 special teams have been formed in the police department just to make sure that there are no unnecessary bike stunts on the streets of Chennai.
08:58One more important thing to note is that all flyovers especially are prohibited. Nobody can get on top of the flyover after 10pm and until Jan 1-6am.
09:08So, these are the top 3-4 highlights of the preparedness taken over by the Chennai police.
09:14Let's listen in to a report that we got you from Besanagar highlighting in detail what the Chennai police has prepared in terms of preparedness and security.
09:23Tamil Nadu police have beefed up their security, keeping in mind the New Year's Day celebrations.
09:30We are reporting from the Eliots Beach here, one of the hotspots here in Chennai.
09:35And I'm just going to take you through the main security measures that have been undertaken by the Chennai police.
09:40There is a ban on the bursting of crackers.
09:42All flyovers will be closed from 10pm to 6am and strict action will be taken on those who are performing biking stunts.
09:50In fact, the surveillance have also been increased.
09:52That's the CCTV visual that you're seeing over there.
09:54Many CCTV cameras have been put up across the city of Chennai along with the usage of drones in order to monitor what's happening throughout the city.
10:05All this is done keeping in mind the safety of citizens.
10:08In fact, 90,000 police personnel are going to be deployed across Chennai with 425 vehicle checkports in Chennai.
10:16In fact, even in temples, there is going to be a lot more security that's going to be provided.
10:21Police assistant booths have been set up in various places.
10:26And policemen will be patrolling throughout the night on horses in beaches and vehicles in Marina, Santom and the Eliots Beach.
10:34In fact, the Chennai police have made it very, very clear that very strict action will be taken on those who are performing bike stunts and bike racing.
10:43So, therefore, 30 separate teams have been formed by the Chennai police just to monitor those who are performing biking stunts.
10:50The main message is have a happy new year, have a fun new year, but make it safe.
10:56With camera person Daniel and Agar Keshiv reporting for India today from Chennai.
10:59Very excited, very super excited to welcome 2026 as I have already planned, you know, a lot of things for this upcoming new year.
11:10I have my own, like I've been doing a lot of work since so many years, but this year I'll work more on my growth professionally, physically, mentally, emotionally, everywhere.
11:22Now, that's all from the city of Tamil Nadu and in Chennai for what's happening for New Year's.
11:32Now, moving on to my colleague Shibbi who's getting you all the stories from Kerala.
11:36Thank you, Anaka.
11:46Well, if you're celebrating New Year's in Kerala, these are the things that you need to note out as the police have arranged certain restrictions in place in every part of the state.
11:57If you are in Fort Kochi in Kerala, that is where the celebrations are going to be at large scale.
12:02A massive party takes place in Fort Kochi every year.
12:06Entry to Fort Kochi will be stopped at 7 p.m.
12:09No parking is allowed in Fort Kochi area for the whole day.
12:13And as far as the metro services are concerned, the water metro on the route of Fort Kochi will be stopped at 7 p.m.
12:18The metro authorities have informed that the water metro services will resume on the Fort Kochi route at 12 a.m. and will go on till 4 a.m.
12:27All the other metro services and public bus services will all be functional throughout midnight is what we have been informed by the administration.
12:35As far as Kerala is concerned, one another tourist destination, a special control team has been set up by the police administration
12:44as there will be multiple tourists visiting from different parts of the world and different parts of the state to celebrate New Year's in Tiruvananthapuram.
12:52And the government administration has also relaxed the working hours of bars and beer and wine parlors
12:58as the bars, the wine and beer parlors will be operational in the state of Kerala today till 12 a.m.
13:04So that extension has also been given.
13:06So party safe and celebrate New Year is the message from the government as well as the district administration here in Tiruvananthapuram.
13:14Listen to the reactions.
13:17Hi, my name is Divakar.
13:19We are from Delhi.
13:20So you visited the temple?
13:22Yes, yes.
13:23We are going inside the temple, yes.
13:25What is New Year going to look like?
13:29See, how we feel it is that New Year is going to be full of these spiritual temple visits
13:35and not because, you know, we are looking at God from a blind faith perspective, but it's a new exploration.
13:42We are exploring it and I think a lot of Gen Zs, you see a lot of people, so much crowd inside.
13:47We just came out thinking how to go inside because there's a lot of people.
13:52But that's the new trend that we are noticing.
13:55Ma'am, so it's a spiritual New Year for you?
13:58Yes, yes, yes, definitely.
14:00So this New Year we planned something else instead of all the parties and gatherings.
14:05It came into my mind that we should visit Ramesh from this year and for that purpose we have come to this temple also and many more to come.
14:14I think this creates your inner peace and self-satisfaction.
14:23Where are you coming from?
14:24Oh, we are from Hyderabad, but we also have family coming from Australia, Kolkata, all the way to Kerala.
14:29This is our second time.
14:30For New Year's we plan to spend it in Alipi in a houseboat, so we are very excited about that.
14:35And yeah, Kerala has been treating us pretty well for now, but yeah, let's see going forward.
14:40All the best to everybody for 2026.
14:47Well, that's all we have from Kerala's segment.
14:50And also wishing all our audience, Hridayam Niranya Pudhwal Sarasham Sagal, over to my colleague Abdul Bashir with all the stories that's making headlines in Andhra and Telangana,
14:58especially what's happening for the New Year's in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
15:01Thank you, Shibhi.
15:11Hyderabad City is completely geared up for the New Year's East celebrations, especially the preparations that are being made are completely, you know, the police is completely geared up.
15:20Security beefed up in many junctions, especially pubs, clubs, malls, and other crowded areas.
15:26What we are learning is that the NTR Mark, Tank Bund, PV Mark, and also Nicholas Road will be closed from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
15:37for the New Year's Eve celebration as open crowding usually takes place.
15:40Right behind me, you can see this road is completely deserted or you just have a traffic flowing.
15:45But in the night, this road will be closed and completely jam-packed with thousands of people from across the city who will gather here for celebrations of the New Year.
15:53Now, here, the police have beefed up their, you know, security here.
15:57217 junctions have been identified where traffic congestion will take place.
16:01So, necessary measures and monitoring will take place at 217 junctions there.
16:05And apart from that, what we are learning is that several flyovers in need will be closed.
16:11Monitoring will be done, night patrolling.
16:13And the CP, especially the Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad, V.C. Sajunar, has warned people of drunken driving.
16:19This is a major focus that we see this year where the Commissioner has warned people, if they are intoxicated,
16:25they are very much necessary that they take cabs of public transport rather than keeping, driving their vehicles and keeping others' lives at rest.
16:32So, several areas where drunk drive tests will be done in major junctions in the city.
16:37Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills are the area which are at the focus.
16:40And these junctions here are completely in focus.
16:43Several flyovers, excluding Begumpeet and Tolichoki flyover, will be closed if necessary, is what the people have, the authorities have to say.
16:51The authorities have urged people to celebrate the New Year's Eve without any inconvenience, responsibly and cooperate with the authorities to have a safer and an incident-free celebration for the New Year.
17:08Let's listen in to this report.
17:09Hyderabad is fully geared up for the New Year's Eve celebration.
17:15Police have intensified security in the city, especially at pubs, clubs, malls and other crowded areas.
17:22Special teams have been deployed to prevent drinking and driving, drug abuse and other illegal activities.
17:29CCTV surveillance, night patrolling and traffic diversion are in place for a safer celebration or movement in the Hyderabad city this year.
17:37Authorities have urged people to celebrate responsibly and also cooperate for a safer and incident-free New Year's celebration this year.
17:48With Camera Person Junaid, Abdul-Bashir, Hyderabad.
17:51Every unit officer, CPS in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, the newly coming up commissioners, Fisher City as well as Malkajgiri,
18:02they've all already prepared their own action plans and we have the information about how it happened last year and previous years.
18:11So based on that, we'll definitely try to do a better job of it.
18:14Well, similar restrictions have been imposed in the state of Andhra Pradesh where several junctions where traffic congestion or divergence are in place for ease to the New Year's celebration.
18:39Since people are asked not to celebrate outside on the roads, no crowding, no cake cutting, no shouting from the vehicles on the roads is a strict warning by the authorities.
18:50Circles like the Benz Circle, Kanakadurga Flyover or Benz Flyover will be closed for the people so that there are no bike stunting or any over speeding that takes place in these kind of places.
19:00Bandar Road, BRTS Road and Eliru Road, there where the traffic congestion is expected, traffic monitoring will be done in these junctions is what the police have to say.
19:10Well, authorities have geared up completely for the celebrations in the state of Andhra Pradesh as well.
19:15People have been advised to celebrate responsibly without causing inconvenience to others.
19:20Now here, the state has clearly said that on streets, no crowding should take place, no cake cutting must be there and also no shouting from the vehicles is what we are learning.
19:29This is a special focus that the Andhra Pradesh government has put in for the New Year's Eve.
19:33But however, New Year's Eve is, you know, a eve where their people are expected to celebrate, have joyous, you know, even their joyous time there.
19:43But intoxicated driving or drunken driving is where, which is prohibited and people have been urged not to do this.
19:50In the state of Telangana, a fine of 10,000 rupees will be imposed and six years jail term is what is the warning that the city here in Hyderabad,
19:58that the city has given and similar goes with the Andhra Pradesh, where strict warning has been given for drunken driving or bike stunting that takes place during the New Year's Eve.
20:07Let's listen in to this report.
20:08With that, we come to the episode of South Fioraun in India today and this would be a final episode on 2025 and we'll see you once again on Jan 1 at 1pm with more news and updates.
20:30And before that, Osa Orshada, Subha Shagalu, Mi Kandar Ki, New Year's Subha Kangshalu and like always, stay safe, stay informed and keep watching India today.
