00:00The very much anticipated Disney Speedstorm dropped into Early Access on Tuesday, April 18th and was met with mixed reviews.
00:08Developer Gameloft's free-to-play racing game is said to be fantastic on the track but held back by its economy system and structure.
00:17Speedstorm will be free to play one day.
00:19As of now, for players to get carding, they have to purchase a Founders Pack,
00:24which comes with various character unlocks, premium in-game currency, and season pass tokens.
00:30Depending on which of the three tiers you buy, ranging from $30 to $70.
00:35But in terms of how it feels, Video Game Chronicle says it's probably closest to Summa Digital's Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed,
00:45or its sequel, Team Sonic Racing, and its top-tier drifting mechanics.
00:50Gameloft put a lot of work into the atmosphere of the game with immersive tracks and music built on
00:56and inspired by favorite Disney movies like Monsters, Inc., Mulan, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
01:02Power-ups and weapons pack a punch and have innovative ways to be used,
01:07in addition to character traits individual to them that make leveling up your racer all the more special.
01:13There's no questioning the game's quality on the racetrack,
01:17but as of now, the title is shrouded in a complicated and some might call not-so-fair pay-to-win economy system.
01:25Disney Speedstorm is still in early access, and hopefully, by the time it hits its official release,
01:31the issues will be resolved and its strengths will be amplified.
