00:00For all the weight I put on this winter.
00:01Checking on the chickens, what's happening here?
00:04Yeah, we're back at the Y camp, and they need our help again.
00:07So we are back in Winthrop, back on Cobb Sea,
00:11and back at camps we already did it.
00:13Well, you guys know we had that storm earlier in the season.
00:15Whoa, look at that.
00:17Wow.
00:18Look, Triggs, we got to get out of here.
00:22And it was a bad one.
00:23It was a bad one.
00:24It was a bad one.
00:25And unfortunately, this side of the lake
00:28got hit really hard, and a lot of these old pines
00:31that were in here came down.
00:33Oh, they had some big pines back here, too.
00:35Luckily, it's not the buildings we worked on.
00:36There's the new bungalow.
00:38Wow.
00:39It's beautiful.
00:41Later on, we're going to stop down a little further
00:43to the Chadwick camp.
00:44Wow, look at the color.
00:46I love the color.
00:47Wow.
00:48I love the color.
00:50It was part of the same storm, got damaged.
00:52But we're headed to the Y camp first.
00:53It's a lot of work, but the bigger design job
00:55will be at the Chadwick camp.
00:56We're chasing storms.
00:58Chase and Storm.
01:00Introduce yourselves.
01:01I'm Chase.
01:02And I'm Storm.
01:03And we are Chase and Storms.
01:06Is Jeff out here today?
01:08Jeff and his family are on vacation.
01:10We are meeting Dawn.
01:11Oh, look at that.
01:12Wow.
01:13That's some major damage, guys.
01:16Oh, there's Dawn.
01:17Hi, my name is Dawn Taylor.
01:19I'm the chief volunteer officer on the board of directors.
01:21How we doing?
01:23Welcome back here at the YMCA Camp of Maine.
01:26I wish we didn't have to meet under the circumstances.
01:28But after the storm, we had significant damage
01:30to a number of buildings.
01:32Five took significant damage, two of which
01:35were completely destroyed.
01:36Oh, really?
01:37Yeah.
01:38So what are we working on?
01:39So we're hoping you guys can come and work on our Somerset
01:42and Kennebec lodges.
01:43These houses are girls.
01:44This is our girls' campus on this side.
01:46Both took direct hits by pine trees.
01:50We're looking for roofs, assess the structural support,
01:55all the porches we'll need a little bit of tending to,
01:59all the things to get it back so that we can have
02:01a successful camp season.
02:03When does your season begin?
02:04Camp season will begin late June.
02:07But we do host a number of community events.
02:09So we expect to have campers on campus late May.
02:13Late May.
02:14Okay.
02:14Late May.
02:14Yep.
02:15And are you trying to replicate what's here,
02:18maintain the aesthetic that's here, or?
02:22Absolutely.
02:23We're not looking to upgrade.
02:24We're just looking to maintain the camp aesthetic.
02:27You know, this is a place where hundreds of kids are going
02:29to come, have the time of their lives on the lake.
02:32And we're just looking to bring it back to what it was.
02:36Yes.
02:36So is there any budget for the repair work on this project?
02:41We do have a budget.
02:42Okay.
02:42We have a total of $80,000, $40,000 for each of the lodges.
02:47Okay.
02:47So we've got six weeks to get the Kennebec and Somerset Lodge
02:53repaired, watertight, and ready for campers.
02:56You've got $80,000 for the renovations.
03:00No keys.
03:00The camp is open.
03:01All right.
03:02Fantastic.
03:02Cool.
03:03Appreciate it.
03:03We're fortunate that nobody was injured.
03:06Wow, look at that.
03:08And that, the only loss was structural.
03:11Tree limb.
03:12A couple of the branches are still.
03:13Oh, yeah.
03:14And we're looking forward to the cabin masters
03:16helping us get there.
03:17So this is the hit on this one.
03:19This is the hit on this one.
03:20And you can see inside.
03:22Whoa.
03:24Wow.
03:25You know, we'll have to peel some of this back.
03:27I think pull out, obviously, the branches
03:29and whatever we have to.
03:31I think we can sister on to some of the old stuff and get the roof solid enough and then just, you know, run some new rafters roof right on top of that.
03:42The Kennebec and Somerset buildings are two of the oldest structures there.
03:47Wow.
03:48Wow.
03:49On this one, it's really just the porch right here.
03:53We're not going in and renovating, rehabbing the entire structure.
03:57You know, we're not going to try and level everything out.
03:59We're not going to worry about painting the entire thing.
04:02We've just got to get them back into working order.
04:05They're nothing fancy.
04:06They're just places for the kids to go crash.
04:09As long as they're safe and they're not getting wet, they're fine.
04:12That's what camp is here in Maine.
04:13On the interior of the Kennebec cabin, we'll clean out all the debris from the damage, add structural support where needed, and repair and repine.
04:21On the exterior, we'll patch up the floors, reinforce the porch railings, new metal roof across all three buildings, and a new set of stairs for the bathhouse.
04:29Wow.
04:30That was crazy.
04:31Yeah.
04:32If that was a small job, I can't imagine what happened at the Chadwick camp.
04:34All right.
04:35We got back in the truck and headed down the road up the lake to the Chadwick camp.
04:39It's on the same side of the lake.
04:41We had it up the road down the lake.
04:42It wasn't even a hop to get from the jump.
04:47How we doing?
04:48Looks like you've been out deer hunting, Ryan.
04:50Camp on.
04:51Camp on.
04:52Camp on.
04:53Camp on.
04:54Wow, guys.
04:55You're missing something.
04:57Yeah, the porch.
04:58They did our camp originally.
05:00The steps came.
05:01There was a grand staircase that came down.
05:03Oh, yeah, I remember.
05:04And we thoroughly enjoyed camp because of what you had done with the porch and sprucing it up on the inside.
05:11My.
05:12Unbelievable.
05:13Oh, my word.
05:15This is incredible.
05:18This looks so.
05:19This is just gorgeous.
05:20It looks so great.
05:21So perfect.
05:22It's beautiful.
05:23We had a storm in December that had heavy rains and a lot of wind and it dumped about an 80-foot large pine tree on the camp.
05:33So that came through, clipped that branch up there and this way?
05:37Yeah, right straight across.
05:39Just missed the roof.
05:40Just missed it.
05:41By about a foot.
05:42That's lucky.
05:43Yeah.
05:44So are we building you a new covered porch?
05:46Yes, please.
05:47But we have a different phase.
05:49Oh.
05:50Maybe take the wall down and make it all one room on the inside.
05:54Oh, wow.
05:55Yeah.
05:56We'd like to move the door to the side and put some windows all across the front so we have a grand view of the lake.
06:02Same style, gray shakes, black windows.
06:05I would like to, yes, yes.
06:07I like the cottage style, camp look, definitely.
06:11So yeah, we came from the YMCA camp and we have six weeks to get in there.
06:15I think it all depends on how many more snowstorms we get.
06:18Sure.
06:19No more.
06:20Hopefully this is it.
06:22But no, I think if we're just focusing on this front part, you're happy with everything inside the camp.
06:26Absolutely.
06:27Static.
06:28Great.
06:29Great.
06:30Then I think, you know, again, if spring cooperates and it's things do dry out, we could have, you know, be working on the front simultaneously.
06:38What do you have for a budget for your new front area?
06:42We'd like to keep it close to 50.
06:44Yeah.
06:45So $50,000 for the renovation and six weeks to get it done.
06:49Do we need a set of keys?
06:51Doors kind of missing, but.
06:53I do have keys.
06:55The door is missing.
06:57All right.
06:58Excellent.
06:59All right.
07:00Thank you very much.
07:01We'll see you guys.
07:03Everything about them is incredible.
07:05They do phenomenal work and we're so excited to have them back.
07:10There's no damage in the main part of the cabin.
07:13Okay, good.
07:14We've got power out here.
07:16So next step will be demo.
07:19Get everybody over here and we'll pull this off.
07:22We'll pull this off and then we'll get down and, you know, get ready to start reframing up the floor.
07:28The statics want more indoor space, so we'll give them that by using the existing footprint of this old deck.
07:32We'll rip it off, take down that front wall and create a new addition with lots of windows looking out onto the water.
07:38We'll move the front door to the side of the camp and we'll get Francis in here to do some landscaping.
07:43Call the guys.
07:44Call them all.
07:45We're chasing the storm with Chasin Storm.
07:54A little different than last time.
07:55Wow, that snow melted quickly.
07:57Thank goodness.
07:58It's even worse.
07:59Tree damage.
08:01A lot of it.
08:02Snow hides a lot.
08:03Yeah, doesn't it?
08:04So today we're starting off at the YMCA camp.
08:07Kennebec got squashed, huh?
08:09Yeah.
08:10Kennebec got a good sized tree right in the valley of that dormer.
08:13There's some damage inside to the roof structure.
08:17Somerset took a tree hit right on that dormer.
08:21But the storm that came through, really this side of the lake took a beating.
08:26So we've got six weeks to get this ready for campers.
08:28We're also going to be doing some work on the Chadwick camp.
08:31Wow, guys.
08:32You're missing something.
08:33Yeah, the porch needs a full rebuild.
08:36So we've got to be efficient with our time and get both demos done in one day.
08:40Let's do it.
08:42Lead the way, Trigger.
08:44We took on a little bit more, but we'd love Y to give back to that.
08:48Keep the truck just on that road.
08:49We'll grab everything from there.
08:50And the Chadwick's have always been good friends.
08:52Take it to pile and leave it.
08:54They're both closed, so.
08:56Whoa.
08:57Oh, what a mess.
09:01That's some wet, heavy snow, Scotty.
09:03So we got the sketchiest part off.
09:05A wet blue top is like a slip and slide.
09:07Snowshoot itself.
09:09We'll peel this back.
09:12All right, we'll get the top here, buddy.
09:15And then we'll strip the shingles off.
09:17How's it going in there?
09:18Sunlight.
09:19Usually a skylight costs a lot of money.
09:25So we're just stripping back the ceiling in here to see what needs to be repaired.
09:32It looks like we definitely have some broken rafters.
09:34So I think we should be able to piece it back together.
09:39And we're gonna just cover the whole thing over with metal and give it one pitch so that hopefully the snow slides right off.
09:46Go right around here.
09:47Well, you want to kind of stay away from things that have a lot of pressure.
09:51You kind of got to take a look at where the weight is.
09:55Come on.
09:56Come on.
09:57And what would be the safest option to be able to dismantle this without getting anybody air it?
10:09Nice.
10:10Beautiful.
10:11Yeah, there was a lot of broken rafters.
10:20Lovely.
10:21Some of the supports were knocked out.
10:22Look, it looks like a butterfly.
10:23It was basically a roof line with a dormer sitting on top of it.
10:27Go ahead.
10:28Do whatever you're gonna do.
10:30So we just had to get everything down onto the ground.
10:33Yingle it.
10:34Ah.
10:39Yes!
10:40And then we could cut it all up safely and disposable.
10:46The main reason for getting rid of those dormers is because we're gonna run new rafters.
10:51So we'll go from this peak and then they'll spin all the way to the front of the porch.
10:55Beautiful.
10:56And we're gonna create a whole new roof line so it's just one flat straight roof.
11:00Grab one of your rooms and we'll clean this up.
11:02That was a prim joke.
11:04Never get old.
11:05It's gonna make it a lot easier for snow removal.
11:08And it's gonna be quite easy to put back together.
11:16Crush job!
11:17Yeah, I'd say we got the majority of the Kennebec roof cut back.
11:21We kind of know what we need to do there.
11:23Ah!
11:24Love it!
11:25On Somerset, there's a little bit of dormer that needs to be ripped off.
11:27Anybody down there?
11:28No!
11:29Go ahead.
11:30Let it go.
11:32But we've gotta keep moving.
11:34We left Scotty, Alex, Hunter.
11:36That was perfectly executed, yes.
11:38To just rip off the rest of the dormer.
11:40Get it weather tight.
11:41Here, you're gonna need this.
11:43Ashley, how are you gonna get home?
11:44Ha ha ha ha!
11:46Now we're off to Chadwick to rip off the front deck.
11:49How do I get so lucky to hang out with a bunch of guys all day?
11:52You wouldn't even know anything happened from the back side.
11:55Wow.
11:56Wow.
11:57Much different.
11:58Look how buckled.
11:59Buckled.
12:00Goal at Chadwick's pretty straightforward.
12:01Get the front stairs and porch off.
12:03Check out this board coming right off.
12:05Come on off board.
12:06And get that platform ripped down.
12:11What am I stuck on?
12:13It's screwed together.
12:15Don't tell TV.
12:16So we can come up with a game plan from there.
12:20You want this?
12:21Just for a second.
12:22I'm right here.
12:25Look at the boat, you guys.
12:26The first boat of the season.
12:27That's not the first boat of the season.
12:29It's the first one she's seen this season.
12:35Heidi.
12:36Hey.
12:37How's it going?
12:38Demo day.
12:39Sweet.
12:40Fun times.
12:41Taking down some porches.
12:42Fashion stuff.
12:44So Heidi stopped by today so we could talk a little design.
12:47So we've already been here before.
12:49Mm-hmm.
12:50So we need to come up with new projects for this place.
12:54Yeah, baby.
12:55Do it.
12:56So for the YMCA camp, I was going to reach out to Kim,
12:59dress wife in Florida, and see if there's anything they need
13:01outside since we're focusing mostly on the exterior.
13:04I thought you were a baseball player.
13:06Not with an eight-inch hammer.
13:10But for here...
13:13Perfect.
13:14Just like that.
13:15Can you reach out to Susie and see if there's something
13:16that they would like since they are getting that new room in there?
13:18One way to do it.
13:22Maybe something for the new room.
13:24I like it.
13:25Yeah.
13:26Oh, I'm going to head back and help these guys, unfortunately.
13:27Okay.
13:28I wish I could go with you.
13:29Come on.
13:30Oh, you're smart.
13:31You're smart.
13:32That's a good boy.
13:33That's a smart boy.
13:34Good luck.
13:35Bye.
13:36Thanks.
13:37I'll see you soon.
13:38Bye.
13:39Done.
13:40Trigger.
13:41Oh, there we go.
13:43Get that thing off.
13:45Look at the mold.
13:46That is fresh.
13:47That is fresh mold.
13:49Camp cheese?
13:50Camp cheese?
13:52Want a bite?
13:53No!
13:55Camp cheese.
13:56Never heard of it.
13:58I got to tell you, I don't think I want to.
14:00This place can use a couple of days to dry out, huh?
14:03Clean off the cheese.
14:04Enough of the cheese already.
14:06The only cheese I want at camp is on my hamburger.
14:09Let's go, dogs.
14:10Watch your toes.
14:12Give me those, um, two by sixes.
14:25It's week two over at Chadwick and Y Camps, and we're ready to rebuild.
14:29Up at the Y Camps.
14:31Where was it broken at?
14:32Right there.
14:33All right.
14:34Texas J is re-supporting the existing roof.
14:36Let's do it.
14:37Woo!
14:38Replacing broken rafters and reframing the porch on the Kennebec side.
14:43While Sarah and Scotty reframe the porch on the Somerset side.
14:47That's good.
14:55Over at the Chadwick Camp, the team has got the new platform built.
15:02They've got it all sheathed over.
15:03And they've demoed out the wall leading to the living space.
15:10Not a bad thing to be on the way.
15:14Today, we're framing up the walls.
15:23Are we ready?
15:24Are we ready?
15:25So we can start setting the rafters.
15:28Set the rafters.
15:33Yo, all you.
15:34So we have hemlock beams.
15:41To go into a vaulted ceiling with this addition.
15:49And they are beautiful.
15:50Takes a lot of muscle and manpower to keep this team moving.
16:10And then we're going to sheathe our roof system in.
16:13Do it, brother.
16:35Here, JJ.
16:38All right.
16:39So we are into our third week at the Y Camp.
16:42Get our steps in today.
16:44It's still cold.
16:46A little rain and snow.
16:48We love cold rain and snow.
16:50But all the damage has been torn out.
16:57Spring training, baby.
16:59How's that end look?
17:01Good?
17:02Sure.
17:04So things are looking good.
17:07JJ's working on patching in some weak spots on the floor.
17:10He's got the railing going.
17:13Mostly finished in.
17:15And this roof needs a new roof as well.
17:18A staircase here will need to be fully replaced.
17:21Over here, same thing.
17:22New roof line.
17:24And roof down this entire thing.
17:26Beautiful.
17:28Today, we're going to focus on getting porches that have been reframed.
17:33Sheathed over.
17:38Is that something 62?
17:40I sure do.
17:4162.
17:43Yeah, so today I had the opportunity to be a cut guy.
17:4562.
17:47Those guys were just yelling measurements down to me.
17:51I was just handing boards up.
17:52Um, something's going on here.
18:07Dipping down pretty well.
18:09Once Jason got the Kennebec porch sheathed over,
18:14you could kind of see a dip, which, you know, obviously without having any frame in there, you couldn't see before.
18:19Ooy, ooy, ooy.
18:22And so I crawled under the camp to see what was going on.
18:25Ah, the carrying beam cracked.
18:27And one of the carrying beams on the front of the porch where the direct impact from the tree had hit drove the beam down and cracked it.
18:36So we had some two-by-sixes.
18:40It was two-by-six framing.
18:42So I slid four of them in.
18:44That's fine.
18:46And was able to re-support the porch in that area.
18:49Okay.
18:53Hey!
18:55What are you doing?
18:58Fixing rot.
18:59I don't know.
19:01What are you doing?
19:03Come to check on you guys.
19:18It's raining.
19:20Hey, Ash!
19:22What?
19:23You close out my truck and my tools are getting whacked.
19:27Yeah, you can work in the rain if you want, but it's not ideal.
19:30Last board.
19:33Well, it's not safe to be up on the roof in the rain.
19:36Beautiful.
19:38And it just ruins the tools.
19:40Yeah, we just got our last couple of sheathen boards on.
19:43Rain's picking up on us, so we're gonna grab our tools.
19:46We're gonna get out of here.
19:48The rain is coming.
19:50All right.
19:52Don't rain on the...
19:54Hurry.
19:56Here it comes.
19:58Woo-hoo!
20:00It's week five on the Chadwick YMCA build,
20:02and things are moving.
20:04It's week five on the Chadwick YMCA build,
20:06and things are moving.
20:08We're gonna get out of here.
20:09The rain is coming.
20:11All right.
20:13Don't rain on the...
20:14on the Chadwick YMCA build, and things are moving along.
20:17Sarah Scott and Andy are doing a heck of a job.
20:20It's coming along nicely.
20:24They've got the roof on the new addition, all shingles.
20:31They got the windows in the other day.
20:33Yeah.
20:37Today they're putting the new door in.
20:39The Chadwick's requested we change the entrance from the front of the camp to the side of the camp, so we're changing the doorway, which is gonna be better access for them.
20:52They're almost seated shaked on the outside.
20:57And the Chadwick's also asked for black trim to match the black windows.
21:03Looks so good.
21:07On the inside, we're putting up some beautiful eastern white pine.
21:10Francis is gonna come in.
21:12We're gonna have this beautiful green sod patio all covered with the rotors and control on the outside.
21:17I think it's gonna be good.
21:20Over at the Y camp, we're repairing the interior of the Kennebec cabin.
21:26The railings are getting a nice new paint job, and we're setting up for stairs in between the two buildings.
21:32So the new roof line is being framed, and we're using two two-by-sixes from the peak to the front of the porch.
21:52One straight line so there is no longer the dip, so hopefully any snow, anything builds up, sheds in the wintertime.
21:58In the wintertime, as soon as the roofing shows up, we can keep working right across with the roofing.
22:20You know, hopefully get it watertight as quickly as possible.
22:22Okay.
22:28Rye!
22:30Trigger!
22:31Trigger will come.
22:33Hi, Triggs.
22:34What's up?
22:35Hi.
22:37So today I'm at the wood shop.
22:39Jepto.
22:41Bird house?
22:42No, this is the lending library.
22:44Is this for the YMCA camp?
22:45Yeah.
22:46So Kim from the YMCA had requested a lending library.
22:49What is a lending library?
22:50Yeah, you know, the lending library really is just a little house where you put books in and take them out.
22:54How many do you need?
22:55Ultimately, they would like four.
22:57You and I are going to build one today so that then I can show it to my team, and then we can finish it off from there.
23:02But I just need a little bit of help from you today.
23:04So are you yelling the trigger?
23:05Yeah.
23:07Okay, so they want them placed all around the camp, not necessarily.
23:11Undercover.
23:12Yeah.
23:13So, do we have any roofing here?
23:15Yes.
23:16Yeah, so I have pre-cut all the pieces.
23:19Right, so that.
23:20I have everything I need.
23:21Why don't we get the drill too?
23:22We could both be drilling.
23:23Where would you rather be than with me and your dog?
23:26Nowhere.
23:27So I definitely need to put some sort of roofing on the lending library.
23:33That'd be perfect.
23:34And that's the solution to our problem.
23:36I like it.
23:40Yeah, so, you know, this is a little lending library.
23:42It was a nice prototype.
23:43Can you just twist it up under here like that?
23:45No, no, no.
23:46Then I'll go outside and cut it.
23:48It still needs some work on it.
23:50You know, you need to file down the edges because they're kind of sharp.
23:55Paint it.
23:58Then I have the material to make three more.
24:01Oh, yeah, look at it.
24:02Nice overhang.
24:03That's good.
24:04Each one's probably going to be a little different, but that's the fun of it.
24:05Will you put it in the back of my car for me?
24:06Sure.
24:08Come on, Chase.
24:29You see him?
24:31No, that's not him.
24:32Today we are back at the Chadwick's.
24:34It's a very busy day, and we don't have a ton of space for parking.
24:39So Ryan and Ash are coming in by boat.
24:42Just go right on that two-by.
24:46On the outside, Sarah is putting up the last of the seat of shakes, and Chase is going around and staining them to match the main camp.
24:54On the inside, Jedi and Andy are working on window trim.
25:02And once Ryan gets here, he'll help me and Scotty work on the lattice.
25:07All right, we've got to get there.
25:08We've got a lot to do.
25:09Yeah, I know.
25:10I've been waiting for you for an hour.
25:12Oh, my morning started with a hectic Ryan.
25:14I just said, hold on.
25:15No, you said it too late.
25:16He calls, yelling about all these things that we have to get done to the Chadwick's.
25:29We've got to take the boat.
25:30He's going to do the lattice.
25:31Got it.
25:32Francis is bringing sod.
25:36Things that I don't even understand.
25:39Yeah, there's a lot, and it's coming quick.
25:42And then I end up waiting forever for him to pick me up.
25:46What am I going to do with you?
25:47So I was a little late.
25:52Look at the bald eagle.
25:54Oh, he's got a fish.
25:55Cool.
25:56Yeah, buddy.
25:57Is that good luck seeing a bald eagle on the way to work?
26:00I'll dig on the way to work.
26:14Yo.
26:15Looks good.
26:16Here comes design.
26:18This is amazing.
26:19All covered in pine.
26:21All covered in pine.
26:24You did not have this view before at all.
26:27They couldn't even see the light.
26:28They're not going to believe this.
26:29Yeah.
26:30It's week six on Cobsy at the Chadwick camp, and we are ready to do the finishing touches.
26:36So I heard through the grapevine they wanted some shelves.
26:40What kind of shelves are they?
26:42Just some two live edge shelves.
26:43I'm going to sand them down, polyarthane, and put them up.
26:46I'll have some nice main brackets that Tom made.
26:49And all this is done, so we could probably put them up today, huh?
26:51Yep.
26:52Where are you going to put them?
26:53Maybe that wall.
26:54That wall needs something.
26:55Yeah.
26:56Cool.
26:57Well, I'm going to head on out and see if my materials are here, but I'll be back, guys.
27:01Awesome.
27:02Here goes design.
27:03Here goes design.
27:04Here goes design.
27:05So I'm setting up.
27:07I have a couple pieces of live edge.
27:08Just needs a quick sanding.
27:09Put some poly on it.
27:10And I'm going to make some shelves, and Andy and I are going to install them.
27:27Here we go.
27:28Yeah.
27:29And our friend Tom makes these really cool brackets with the state of main in it.
27:34Sweet.
27:35In the original kitchen, we put a live edge counter in.
27:40That's their kind of look, their aesthetic.
27:45My.
27:46Unbelievable.
27:47My word.
27:48Look at the counter.
27:50Wow.
27:51Oh, yeah.
27:54That one's really nice.
27:56So I just thought it would be something that would fit in really well in the cabin.
27:59There you go.
28:00There you go.
28:01Look at that.
28:02I like it.
28:12Okay.
28:15One of the other big things at the Chadwick camp is the new lattice.
28:18Perfect.
28:19Yeah, so before Susie was like, they sit out there, they'd be entertaining, sit on the lawn,
28:22they just had to look at all the junk under the cabin.
28:24Each item when used individually is great, but when put together, it's junk.
28:27Okay.
28:28Do you have it ready, buddy?
28:29So we are changing the lattice a little bit.
28:31And all we're doing is, when there's a space on the front side of the lattice, we're going
28:34to put a piece of lattice on the back.
28:36So air can get through it, but if you're looking straight on, you won't really see what's
28:39behind there.
28:40They had trouble getting stuff underneath.
28:42Nice.
28:43So we designed a system that has a barn door rail coming up under the beam.
28:46That's going to work nice, though, isn't it?
28:48Two of these are going to sit up there, and they'll pull right out nice and easy, and slide
28:52back in.
28:53What do you think, Francis?
28:54We're going to make your landscaping look sharp.
28:57And then that front air is just going to come together.
29:00You got an intern today, Francis?
29:02I got something.
29:04It really is a whole new camp.
29:06I'm a gardener today.
29:09What do you think, Jedi?
29:10Oh, I think it's a great spot to tan.
29:13We never had a company nap, guys.
29:16A little siesta.
29:17Oh, Moss is here.
29:19What are you doing?
29:20We're just checking out the gate.
29:21What's the plan?
29:22You guys keep going.
29:23I'm going to go check in on the Y and see how they're doing.
29:26All right.
29:27Let's do it.
29:28Nice!
29:29Get on it!
29:30Man, that's nice.
29:31You're right, Francis.
29:32Nice job.
29:33Bye.
29:38This is going to be an incredible transformation for the Chadwick's.
29:52So, things are looking good at the Y camp.
29:55Most, pretty much all the roof is on.
29:58These guys are working on finishing the roof on the bathhouse.
30:02And then, touch up painting.
30:05While Ashley and her team are getting ready for the Chadwick's.
30:11We'll do a little bit of cleanup here at the Y camp.
30:13And then hand it back over to Jeff and his family in a couple of days.
30:17Oh, look, a joke book.
30:18Ready for some jokes?
30:19Ready.
30:20All right.
30:21Save the jokes for later.
30:22We've got a big day today.
30:23I know.
30:24Chasing away the storms for good.
30:25For good.
30:26It's the end of week six, and we are done.
30:27Yeah, the lending libraries came out really cute.
30:28Don't you think?
30:29Yeah, for sure.
30:30We completed the lending libraries for the Y camp.
30:31All the campers come tomorrow, right?
30:32Yeah.
30:33We're not doing staging on the inside.
30:34The campers bring their own bedding and all that.
30:35But we were able to bring in plants, chairs, picnic tables.
30:37And it's looking great.
30:38Wow.
30:39Wow.
30:40Wow.

32:01that will extend the longevity and make a little less work for you in the winter times yeah yeah
32:09thank you these metal roofs are awesome yeah when you know had the guys come in it's like these
32:13buildings weren't perfect before the trees hit them but they did a really good job just straightening
32:18out the roof line the kind of back definitely sustained the majority of the damage damaged the
32:24inside structure and the porch so we got everything put back together closed it all in
32:31on somerset it was the porch that took the hit
32:37all new framing and new paint jobs so ready to go and we wanted some lending libraries so we had some
32:44fun making those and putting those up nice around the property cool one of the traditions with the
32:51cabins is the counselors reading to the kids at night oh nice so being able to have books at the ready
32:57that will definitely be put to good use want to head on in and check it out yeah cool all right oh wow
33:05holy mackerel there used to be a big hole right there the tree is gone the tree is gone no more skylight

33:21states and other countries to connect nice solid deck yeah nice and solid the lights are back up yep and
33:30the trim is so nice having these repairs done railings are fixed nice new stairs oh here's another library
33:41means that we can focus our attention on that
33:46and the adventures that this summer is going to hold
33:51yeah so you know when we first showed up you know met dawn didn't have a key to hand off so we don't
33:55have a key to get back to you but we had six weeks and eighty thousand dollars to get it back get it
34:01ready for campers we just squeaked under the wire so the rest is on you guys okay we'll take it from here
34:08and now we have to run because we're still chasing the storm okay down the lake here so perfect we
34:14will hopefully not see you under these conditions soon but hopefully see you soon hopefully we have
34:19the great privilege of speaking for over a hundred years of alumni and hopefully a hundred more years
34:26to come of campers oh this is look great look there's one down there too and this one that looks
34:32pretty yeah it's sweet thank you to the cabin masters for taking such great care of this very
34:39special place thank you all right yeah so the build of the chadwick camp is done looks great doesn't it

35:03perfect for the space francis is done with the landscaping the whole place was ready for the
35:06chadwicks to come back and enjoy for the summer no more storms i'm beat still a lot of tall trees chase
35:15knock on all the wood
35:18you know that storm was awful and honestly when i came out here and saw that 90-foot tree on our camp

37:14we have some storage we have storage underneath this is that is going to make it easy yes we continued
37:21with the black the black lattice a little bit of privacy in between them that's awesome brian nailed
37:27that he did a great job gave us some storage to get to easily and not have to worry about it over the
37:32winter this is beautiful it seems like there's so much more space great that was the point right
37:39i mean originally the stairs came down so that kind of took up space yeah that took up space yeah
37:49the gift that cabin masters have is just making it like it belongs there like it's been there since the
37:55early 1900s when this camp was built they truly have a gift when it comes to that yeah so called ryan
38:04right after the storm you were looking to rebuild the porch but incorporate it more into the house we
