00:00The holidays are a time of tradition, and if you're anything like the 113 million Americans who are expected to travel for the season, part of that tradition is getting snowed in at the airport.
00:10Well, if you're flying somewhere, it looks like Mother Nature isn't going to let you down, as a storm surge is set to sweep across the U.S. just in time for the big day.
00:18According to AccuWeather, the sky is set to release rain, snow, and wind from the middle of the country all the way east to the Atlantic.
00:24With the New York Times reporting that below freezing temperatures, even those reaching the sub-zero double digits, are expected in the northern plains and upper Midwest, and they say it might even reach record low temperatures.
00:35But what does that mean for travelers?
00:36Well, Delta Airlines has already begun to give out travel waivers for some flights around the Pacific Northwest for December 20th through the 22nd, with United handing out even more for Midwest travelers at two dozen airports from the 21st through the 23rd.
00:49Budget airline JetBlue, however, hasn't issued any waivers, though they have issued the suggestion of signing up for travel notifications.
00:57If your flight is canceled, be sure to check the Department of Transportation's brand new Aviation Consumer Protection website, which details what each airline will do to compensate you.
