00:00So I had the idea to turn the viral Mississippi pot roast into a smash burger, and it actually worked out so much better than I expected.
00:05I mean, smashing the peppers in like this was an absolute game changer.
00:08Now, to get things started, we're going to get some ground beef seasoned up with some ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix.
00:13Then we just need to get in there and mix it by hand, and because we aren't really using any toppings,
00:16we're going to grab a chunk and form it into a roughly 4-ounce ball instead of my normal 3-ounce ones.
00:20And you want to make sure that you season the meat right before you start to cook it.
00:22Otherwise, it's going to tense up, and the salt in the seasoning is going to start to pull some moisture out, which is going to ruin your sear.
00:27Now, after we get the peppers placed down on top and smashed into the patties,
00:30we're going to let them cook for about 90 seconds before we flip them over to show off that beautiful crust.
00:34And after that, we're going to top each patty off with some cheddar cheese and give that just a few seconds to steam and melt that.
00:39And once that's ready, all we have to do is get these patties stacked up so we can put this thing together.
00:42And that means we're going to start with a toasted brioche bun that's covered in a thickened au jus
00:46before we place down two of the patties and top that off with more au jus.
00:49And I already know there's no way this burger doesn't taste incredible.
00:55Oh my god, that's insane.
00:57I mean, if you like the Mississippi pot roast, you're definitely going to love this burger.
01:00Give it a try.
