00:00How was everybody's weekend?
00:04These junior cyclists are up early to learn from one of the best
00:08in the business. The Hoski and Canberra Cycling Club Junior Bunch
00:12is really about building road awareness and bunch skills for junior cyclists
00:16in Canberra. It's this recognition that at some point
00:20in time juniors are going to go out on the roads riding and training.
00:24I've definitely learnt a lot of road awareness, like being aware of
00:28all the cars and the other bikes and learning how to ride in a bunch
00:32because it's quite different than riding by yourself.
00:36After retiring from professional cycling in 2022
00:40Chloe Hosking is back at home, passing her skills on to
00:44the next generation. I had a phenomenal junior bunch that I rode
00:48with when I was coming through the sport and when I came back to
00:52Canberra I sort of just recognised that it wasn't there for juniors
00:56any more. Now some of her older riders have begun mentoring
01:00younger members. I think that it's really important that you
01:04like get out and reach out and help with other people's like cycling
01:08journey. Cycling has the best community of any sport
01:12and like getting to know new people, encouraging the kids especially
01:16like helping them learn new things as well and learning new things yourself.
01:20We're stopping! Potentially life saving lessons for Canberra's
01:24up and coming cyclists.
