I don't know about in the rest of the world, but this record actually got plenty of radio airplay in Australia when it appeared in 1978. (Although I understand this was something of a fluke: Virgin Records had just got a new distribution deal down under and the distributor was naturally anxious to show they could push product with the best of them. And their next release just happened to be ...) It's a slightly toned down Kevin Coyne we hear, but of course the words "toned down" are completely relative when it comes to Coyne. The record has at least three classics in "People", the rocking "Pretty Park" and "Having a Party", and the closing "The World is Full of Fools" may be the single song that explains Coyne the best: you've got to laugh, because if you don't you'll cry ... or worse.BradL Mar 24 2010
