00:01We're starting to see some small variations in Alexander's signal.
00:05And once the nanites achieve symbiosis in the brain, the fatality rate is 100%.
00:10I think we should call this off.
00:14Let's just talk about this.
00:17We didn't tell him to do that.
00:19Please don't run.
00:20The only way I know how to connect to him is through you.
00:23Lone Wolf thinks Mosaic's drive identifies them as the one who placed the mole in the orphanage.
00:28You don't want the target to know exactly where it is yet.
00:31Our enemy can't be ahead of us. He will lead them to it.
00:34It's a Faraday cage for the drive, in case it's being tracked.
00:39How do you know he didn't have the drive, huh?
00:41Because I was watching through your eyes, Alexander.
00:47I still believe in the mission, but I'm not doing it the orphanage's way.
00:52I know you'll understand, my friend.
00:55If you were gonna shoot me, you'd have done it already.
00:57But you know I'm the only one that can answer your questions.
01:01So let's talk.
01:02Let's talk.
01:03Let's talk.
01:04Let's talk.

01:44No, I'm looking forward to it!
02:02Did you get it?
02:03The file was unguarded for 30 minutes. I copied it.
02:06Are you sure it's real?
02:08I'm sure.
02:10The address for every KGP agent in West Berlin.
02:14When can I have it?
02:17Did the Americans agree?
02:20Yes, yes. They've been very impressed with what you provided so far.
02:23So then they will take me visit?
02:25Yes. Someone is coming to extract you first to the UK and then after that.
02:29Yes, she will send you to the States with a new identity.
02:32You'll be an American.
02:34Okay, when?
02:36Tomorrow.
02:39Who should I expect to come?
02:42Never say it out loud.
02:45The house is close to each other, right?
02:46Yes. The name of the second house?
02:47Yes.
02:48We'll take my notes.
02:49A woman will take off two hours.
02:52The house is close to each other, right?
02:53Yes.
02:54The name of the second house?
02:55Yes.
02:56The name of the second house?
02:57We'll take my notes.

03:08I'm sorry.
03:09Good man.
03:11I'm sorry, what are you going for live in?

04:34Many people have been there for the loss of this.
04:37That's not it!
04:38Sir, you are still here, you are still here!
04:42The number of times in Venice...
04:44What?
04:45...we're still here.
04:48What?
04:49Did the lady take the other door to the other room?
04:52The American woman?
04:54What is she here?

06:22Yes, sir.
06:23My name is Schiff.
06:24And who do you work for?
06:25Schiff.
06:26I work alone.
06:27I've had my fill of governments and agencies.
06:28Now I just play them against each other whenever possible.
06:30Were you the one that hacked me?
06:32When did you figure it out?
06:33Slovakia?
06:34A bookstore?
06:35It really bothers you that you are?

06:52It really bothers you that you don't know, doesn't it?
06:55Hm.
06:57How do I get it out of my head?
06:59There's no way to remove it.
07:01No cure, no antidote, and it never stops broadcasting.
07:07Ever.
07:10We've already established you're not gonna kill me.
07:11Yeah.
07:12You're right.
07:13But I'm happy to show you somewhere it hurts
07:15You can't risk me passing out
07:17From the pain or losing too much blood
07:20Answers are too important to you
07:22Tell me why you chose me
07:25Now there's a good question
07:27The question really
07:29We'll circle back to that later
07:31You're gonna tell me what I wanna know
07:38Or I'm gonna make you suffer
07:40And then you're gonna tell me anyway
07:41Did they give you the unredacted file
07:44About the Cassandra tech in your head
07:45The full story
07:46The orphanage never told you about the tech
07:49Destroying your mind, did they?
07:52No one has ever made it past six months
07:54Without complete and total mental collapse
07:56Or death
07:57You're lying
08:01Am I?
08:03Have the side effects started yet?
08:06The pillowing lights ringing in your ears
08:08Little blips of losing time
08:10Once that starts, you're in the endgame
08:12Your brain will start seizing
08:14The unredacted file is over there
08:17Read it
08:18See if I can be believed
08:21Just happened to have this with you

09:15we're scanning there's miles and miles of catacombs he could be anywhere
09:20agreed these are the six most likely scenarios these first four are if alexander was able to
09:26make contact with our lone wolf and these two are if he hasn't located him yet i'm drawing up a
09:31decision matrix we all missed it our target outplayed us it's not your fault want to bet
09:37i knew he was going off mission
09:43he broke up with michelle right before he left
09:48i think he figured out that we were manipulating him through her i didn't give you all the information
10:01you took a risk it blew up there'll be plenty of time for me to yell at you after we find him

11:47however flawed the orphanage might be i would still never work for you
11:53you stole my life
11:58so unless you have any other documents for me to read we're taking the long way home
12:09your mothers
12:10i didn't want you to read the files so that i could flip you i already have all the leverage
12:15i need for that
12:16i just wanted to remind you how little the orphanage cares about individual lives like yours
12:24or like helen and preston hale
12:31what did you do
12:38i've placed people in their everyday life
12:41people very close to them that i control
12:44if i give the order your parents are dead
12:47if i don't check in regularly the kill order becomes automatic
12:52you really don't want anything to happen to me
12:59from now on you're gonna do exactly what i say
13:11let's start with the gun
13:17you're gonna walk out of here
13:34tell them you lost me in the catacombs and then go home
13:39and then you're gonna help me find the ghost that i've been hunting for
13:46a long time
13:56frederick schiff
13:58an american citizen by birthright
14:01but without any papers
14:05no connection to his family
14:10we used his desire to meet his american father to manipulate him
14:16i was going to retrieve him myself
14:20in exchange for intel about kgb agents
14:26but then the world turned upside down
14:29the kgb was pulling out
14:32he was no longer valuable to us
14:37do you know what he might want
14:41yes
14:43i want to know who saint george is
14:46and you can lead me right to her
14:49and how am i supposed to do that
14:51you're the most important operative you can find a way
14:56why her
14:58she promised me
15:01something
15:04but it was all lies
15:06she stole my life
15:08so i want to be looking in her eyes when she realizes that i'm the one who's gonna kill her
15:14afterwards i'll simply disappear
15:18your parents will be safe you'll have the chance to run
15:21you'll never see me again
15:23they're gonna think that i've been flipped
15:26then you better be a very good spy alexander
15:31the orphanage will try to convince you that you belong
15:35but you never will
15:39do you really think they would hesitate to let your parents dive and then catching me
15:46i'll give you a day
15:48but by 10 pm tomorrow
15:50you will go through with it
15:53clock is ticking
15:56just so they can find you
16:07it really is a maze down here
16:10you know how to reach me
16:26over here
16:45over here
16:47where's the target
16:49we followed the heat signature from the steam vent to osiris
16:54target is not here
16:56target is loose
16:57target is loose
17:18ali
17:22we have eight hours until he's home
17:24have francis wire his apartment
17:26i want to know everything that's going on in there
17:28i thought we can't bug his place
17:30because if the enemy finds out it means we're onto the hack
17:32we have to take that risk now
17:35we have to take that risk now
18:05PHONE RINGS
18:35We now have an answer.
18:43We were looking for one person.
18:45We should have been looking for three.
18:47This is Frederick Schiff, born 1964 in Saalswiedel, Germany.
18:52His mother, Ukrainian, died in childbirth.
18:54His father, an American serviceman stationed in West Germany who never met his son.
18:58Schiff grew up in East Berlin and served three years in a Stasi listening post.
19:03At some point, he began spying on his own country and passing intel to American intelligence.
19:09Records show he applied for asylum in the U.S.
19:13It was declined.
19:15He was then discovered and shipped to a Soviet gulag where he apparently died of exposure.
19:20He didn't stay dead long.
19:22This is Eric Komyuk, a more grown-up Frederick Schiff, using his grandmother's maiden name.
19:27Komyuk emerged, seemingly without a pass, a ruthless GRU officer rising through the ranks of post-Soviet Russia.
19:36Using a proxy paramilitary group, the Brits eliminated him.
19:40Or so they thought.
19:41He was reborn with a new identity, carefully crafted.
19:45Schiff became Henry Goldman.
19:48He has been working as a contractor for various countries since 2002, including ours.
19:55He has clearance with the CIA and the NSA.
19:58And he currently consults for the director of national intelligence.
20:02He's very well connected.
20:04How did he get his hands on the Cassandra technology?
20:06One of his close associates is Werner Comstock,
20:09who first pioneered the net-act technology Cassandra is built on.
20:13Werner Comstock died five months ago.
20:15Terrible accident, drowning.
20:16Is there a connection between Werner Comstock, Schiff, and the chemist?
20:20We'll never know.
20:21The chemist also just died of a terrible accident.
20:24Overdose.
20:25But Schiff's listening station that processes the intel from the hack is located in the former USSR.
20:31But he lives here in D.C., 13 miles away.
20:39He cleaned his place out before he left for Paris.
20:42Wasn't planning to return.
20:43Thirteen miles.
20:46Oh, it gets worse.
20:48Goldman is his father's name.
20:50The American side of his family.
20:52One of his half-siblings is a woman named Ellen,
20:56who 40 years ago married a man with the last name Cobb.
21:00They had one son.
21:02Edmund.
21:03Cobb is his nephew.
21:05They've been in regular contact.
21:06There's a chance Cobb was either working with him or being manipulated by him.
21:11Could be why Cobb went to the CIA.
21:13We have confirmation it was him.
21:14He's at Langley under their protection.
21:16It was him.
21:17Except Schiff didn't want the CIA to be there.
21:22He wanted the drive.
21:24Cobb did that on his own.
21:25And if Cobb was working with Schiff,
21:30he wouldn't have hidden that intel to save Poseidon.
21:35Cobb didn't know about the ambush in Slovakia before it happened.
21:39So Cobb goes rogue and brings the CIA in on his own.
21:43Why?
21:43Because he was right about the mole.
21:45How do you want to play it?
21:50We keep the show going.
21:52We don't let on we know about Schiff.
21:54Instead, we consider the mission a failure because we didn't find the drive,
21:58and we follow the procedures after a failed op.
22:02Hale arrives in one hour.
22:05And then I'll need to know what he's really thinking.
22:15Why did you pursue the target despite the order to abort?
22:23Because I knew where he was going, and I didn't want him to get away.
22:26Where's the drive?
22:27I gave it to another agent.
22:29Edmund Cobb.
22:30What happened next?
22:32I was able to track the assailant down into a network of tunnels.
22:36I searched for about 45 minutes.
22:40At one point, I saw a figure running ahead of me,
22:42and I assumed it was him.
22:47I chased after him, and I fired my gun, but he got away.
22:53We received this from Director Moyer's office ten minutes ago.
22:56I guess they're doing an internal review.
22:59All of our security clearances are being held until it's completed.
23:05They must think we have a leak somewhere in the chain.
23:08Secure briefing in ten?
23:12What does our enemy know?
23:15He only knows that I realized he wasn't the extraction agent.
23:19He doesn't have the drive, so he doesn't have any reason to suspect that we set a trap for him.
23:23And he doesn't know that we know about the hack.
23:25Claymore is safe.
23:29Did you find out who he is?
23:31Yes.
23:32Why did you knock out the orphanage agents?
23:35Lone Wolf was getting away, and I couldn't let that happen.
23:38What happened to Remy?
23:40Lone Wolf had a paralytic agent, like us.
23:43He must have gotten close enough to Remy to use it.
23:46I assumed you'd all be able to see it.
23:48Our shot was partially included.
23:51Hmm.
23:51You know what part I don't get?
23:55You and Remy were the only people that got a good look at him, and then you followed him down into a dark tunnel system.
24:02He could have ambushed you at any time.
24:05Why let you live?
24:08I assumed it was because he wanted to keep the hack open.
24:13Keep seeing through my eyes.
24:17Why'd you break up with Michelle?
24:18Um...
24:23Couples fight.
24:26It's unrealistic to assume that we'd be any different.
24:28On again, off again sort of thing.
24:31Yeah.
24:33Did you make contact with Schiff?
24:35Is that his name, the target?
24:37Did you make contact?
24:38No, sir. I didn't.
24:40I want to be clear about something, Alexander Hill.
24:44This is the one room in the world where I can help you.
24:46If you have anything to say to us, now's the time.
24:53I didn't make contact, and I'm not lying to you.
24:59Did he threaten you?
25:02Someone close to you?
25:03We can help.
25:16I couldn't find him.
25:22You got away.
25:23That's all.
25:25Shit.
25:26What do you want me to do now?
25:39Go home.
25:43Get some rest.
25:44He's lying.
25:59Somebody!"
26:00I'm not lying to you.
26:01I'll go home.
26:02Honey.
26:02I won't.
26:04You're lying to me.
26:19I'll be lying to you.
26:24I've got it.
26:25Hey.
26:33Hi.
26:36They need our keys back.
26:39Standard operating procedure.
26:43Sorry.
26:45Of course.
26:55Watch him.
27:25He might still lead us to Schiff.
27:28It doesn't make sense that he would flip.
27:31It doesn't sound like the person he is at all.
27:33And at the end of the day,
27:34it doesn't really matter why he flipped.
27:36All that matters is what Schiff told him to do.
27:38If he wanted to hurt us,
27:40Hale is the best way to do that.
27:42He is walking evidence of a decision that we made
27:45to compromise national security.
27:48No one can ever find out.
27:50And if we're wrong about him?
27:52Do you think we're wrong?
27:53I can't tell.
27:56Watch him very, very closely.
27:58And if you see evidence that he is colluding
28:00with the enemy,
28:01be prepared to give the kill order.
28:08Verbal confirmation of the conditions
28:10of the kill order, please.
28:12Conditions understood.
28:14Conditions understood.
28:42Conditions understood.
28:43I can't remember.
28:44I lot to say.
28:45I do have to excuse my children.
28:46I can't remember that.
28:48I, I can't remember.
28:49These are the two missing pieces.
28:51There are three missing pieces.
28:52I can't remember the killing.
28:53I can't remember the killing order.
28:54They had to kill the killing.
28:55Sorry, I thought you were
29:25I found a few things of yours.
29:30I wanted to drop them off in the most dramatic way possible.
29:34This works.
29:39Trip good?
29:41Yeah.
29:46There's a few things of mine in there.
29:48Do you mind if I grab them?
29:49Unless you're afraid I'm going to do something crazy.
30:12Thanks.
30:12Thanks.
30:19Aren't you going to shut the door?
30:35So where's the stuff you need?
30:37Bedroom.
30:40Let me just pick up a bed first.
30:42An unkept bedroom.
30:44You've changed.
30:44Let me just pick up a bed first.
31:14Let me just pick up a bed first.
31:16I love you.
31:17Yeah.
31:17Let me just blow your bed first.
31:19Remember that e Indulize the window?
31:20Yeah.
31:20I mean it's dark.
31:28I love you.
31:30I love you.
31:31I love you.
31:32I love you.
31:33preocupation to me.
31:37I love you too.
31:38I love you too.
31:40I love you too.
31:42I love you too.
31:43Sorry.
31:57I figured instead of taking my coffee back like a petty person,
32:00we could just drink it.
32:02Maybe sit and talk.
32:06Maybe some other time.
32:08I think I'm coming down with something.
32:11Yeah. Yeah.
32:13Sure. Whenever. I mean, no rush.
32:16I'm going to go grab my stuff.
32:30Take it. I'll be in there.
32:40Hey, everything okay?
32:41No. You're alive, Preston.
32:44He's alive.
32:44Great.
32:44Mom, now's not really a good time.
32:46I know. I know. It's a bad time.
32:48Always a bad time.
32:49So we're just coming because it's never a good time anyway.
32:52No, Mom, you cannot come here.
32:54Well, we're already here.
32:55How far away are we?
32:57Uh, 50 minutes.
32:58Yeah, Victor invited us for lunch.
33:00I was going to call and tell you, but...
33:02But it was a bad time for you to answer.
33:03I'm sorry. I'm just not feeling well right now.
33:06Oh. Well, that's okay.
33:08I'll come make food for you there.
33:09We'll stay in.
33:11No, you know what?
33:12We'll go to Victor's, okay?
33:13I'll see you there.
33:14If you're not feeling well, I...
33:15Mom, I'm not asking.
33:17Don't be so touched.
33:18I'll see you there soon, okay?
33:19Alexander, I hear you.
33:22Sounds like I almost got to meet the family.
33:24I got my stuff.
33:30I'll get out of your way.
33:32Yeah.
33:36That book you gave me?
33:40I started reading it.
33:42It was surprising.
33:44In a good way.
33:48I'm glad you liked it.
33:50Yeah.
33:51I'm sorry you're not feeling well.
33:53Well, if you need soup or anything,
33:57I make good soup.
34:01And I watch out for the people that I care about.
34:23You called a meeting.
34:44You should probably speak first.
34:46I'm meditating to help control my temper.
34:48We received high-level intelligence
34:54that an operative of yours was compromised.
34:57Which is ironic,
34:58given the nature of your organization.
35:01Alexander Hale entered the CIA sphere,
35:03so we moved to collect him.
35:05It's regrettable that it affects
35:07an operation of yours.
35:09Perhaps in the future,
35:11you could warn us what you're up to.
35:13Let's go.
35:14We'll be on the same page.
35:15We better partners to you.
35:17What a generous offer.
35:20Well, thank you for considering it.
35:23As for this unfortunate event,
35:25it is my understanding
35:26that the only fire that was traded
35:27was between Hale and our guys.
35:29And no one was seriously hurt,
35:31so it seems like something
35:32that we could all move past.
35:34After all,
35:35we were just trying to help you
35:36with your problem.
35:37And it's so appreciated.
35:38But there's no problem to be solved.
35:42We looked into it.
35:44You got bad intel.
35:45So it's not true?
35:52You're not protecting the leak
35:54in your house?
35:58Why on earth would we do that?
36:05I'm relieved to hear it.
36:07Let's hope this never happens again.
36:09I'd like to sit at the bar, please.
36:25A little to the left.
36:45I want to be able to see his face.
36:52That doesn't look like very much food.
36:55No, it doesn't, does it?
36:56I've got to talk to Victor about that.
36:59Are you okay?
37:01Yeah.
37:02Yeah, I'm fine.
37:03Just worried about you.
37:05You've worked too much.
37:06I'm fine, really.
37:18I'm going to pop in
37:18and say hi to Victor.
37:19Really?
37:20Yeah.
37:21Your food's going to get cold.
37:23It's three bites.
37:27Oh.
37:29Lunch okay?
37:30How was your trip?
37:31Got in late last night.
37:32Oh, you must be exhausted.
37:34Yeah.
37:35Come.
37:35Help me with the flower.
37:40I have to talk to you about something.
37:43Maybe we go for a walk.
37:45Order up.
37:49Okay.
37:51Health inspectors.
37:54Yeah, they came here yesterday.
37:56Unscheduled.
37:57So we swept the place this morning.
38:00They had bugged it,
38:01but we disabled them.
38:03It's clean, but...
38:05I mean, I assume this was orphanage.
38:09What's going on?
38:10I think they're looking into me again.
38:17Paris' trip didn't go as planned.
38:22Victor, I've never asked you for anything like this,
38:24but I need to speak to St. George directly.
38:27I know you used to work with her.
38:31I need to speak to her out of the office,
38:33and I need you to trust that I have to do this.
38:37Can you find her?
38:38No.
38:39She's impossible to find.
38:41A ghost.
38:45Unless...
38:45You're one of a handful of people in the world
38:48who knows she was married
38:49and who she was married to.
38:53How long do you have?
38:56Only until 10 tonight.
39:01Well...
39:02Okay, I'll make a few calls,
39:06and when I know something, I'll get in touch.
39:08Yeah.
39:11I have to go home in case I run out of time.
39:14Yeah.
39:15I don't want my parents to see anything happen.
39:18No, no, no.
39:19I'll keep them here.
39:21Always.
39:31Hey, I'm sorry, guys,
39:32but something just came up at work.
39:34I have to go.
39:35What?
39:35What?
39:36Oh, come on.
39:37Finish the meal with it.
39:38Honey.
39:38What are you doing?
39:39No, I wish I could, really.
39:41Just enjoy yourselves.
39:42Victor will be here.
39:43We drove all this way to see you.
39:45I know, and I will make it up to you.
39:47What did you just say?
39:52Hold on.
39:53That wasn't Mandarin.
39:55Come on, Alexander.
39:55We speak English here.
39:58Just say it back.
40:00One time.
40:02Say it, Preston.
40:05I know, Mom.
40:22I know.
40:24Just stay here, okay?
40:25Okay.
40:27I'll see you soon.
40:28Right.
40:28Okay, it's Hakka, the Southern dialect.
40:39He said, I love you.
40:41They said, I love you back.
40:42Okay.
40:42Thank you for coming.
41:06I assume you reached out because you won a way back in.
41:10No.
41:14I fucked up.
41:17The man Alexander's been pursuing is my uncle.
41:21Henry Goldman.
41:23He's a security consultant, although I'm starting to think everything I know about him is a lie.
41:28Henry Goldman.
41:30And?
41:32And I told him I suspected a leak in the orphanage.
41:37I didn't say who, but occasionally over the last few years he would ask me questions about who runs the orphanage.
41:47He asked me about the name St. George.
41:50I confirmed that the name was still active even though I didn't know anyone who'd ever met her.
41:54I think he was fishing for information.
41:59Anyway, I wanted to tell you this in case it could help with whatever he's after.
42:07Thank you, Cobb.
42:19I never handed it over to the CIA.
42:21My friend at the NSA called him one last favor.
42:25He decrypted it.
42:27It's completely full of dummy data.
42:33Why would the orphanage carry out a high-risk international operation for a worthless hard drive?
42:41We probably should have just brought you in from the beginning.
42:45But we didn't.
42:47And now you're on the other side of the street.
42:54I'd stay there if I was you.
42:56You're not going to kill me?
43:02Why, Cassandra, RU258?
43:06You can see the file structure without decrypting it.
43:09It's like an index.
43:11Part of the bait.
43:12I assume there's a folder in there.
43:14Cassandra, RU258.
43:17An old DOD hacking program.
43:19I think the better question is,
43:22why didn't Alexander,
43:24someone you thought was betraying his country,
43:27jump in front of a bullet to save your life?
43:29I'm sorry.
43:56I also wanted to go back,
43:59Hey.
44:18Don't freak out.
44:21I forgot I still had your spare key.
44:24Now it's there on the table.
44:26But like I said earlier, I make a mean chicken noodle.
44:31You didn't have to do that.
44:34I know.
44:35Look, just to clarify, it's over.
44:40No lingering feelings.
44:41Everybody moves on.
44:43And I'm just someone in your kitchen making good soup.
44:50I'm only here to watch out for you.
44:53Anything you need.
44:56Thanks.
45:04Soup in 20.
45:26I'm ready.
45:33I'll do what you asked.
45:35As soon as Victor comes through, I'll lead you to St. George.
45:41Did he say he'd lead them to St. George?
45:45Get Director Moira, please.
46:02We need you down here, sir.
46:04Sorry.
46:05Sorry.
46:06Come on.
46:10You're out here.
46:12Yes!
46:13I can't wait.
46:14Sorry.
46:15No, no, no.
46:16I'm sorry.
46:17No, no.
46:18No, no, no.
46:19No, no.
46:20No, no.
46:21No.
46:23No.
46:24No, no, no.
46:25Sit here lonely like a broken man
46:43Sell my time and do the best I can
46:47I was involved in surrounding me
46:51But I don't want your sympathy
46:55Oh baby, oh baby
46:59I just need your tender loving
47:03To keep me sane in this burning oven
47:07When my time is up, be my reaper
47:11Like I just worked on God's pain
47:14My reaper, my reaper, baby
47:19Tell me it's my reaper
47:23Yeah
47:24What about me?
47:37What about me?
47:40What about me?
