There truly is nothing better than an easy, five-step crockpot dinner. In this video, Natalie makes spicy black-eyed peas in the slow cooker with freshly chopped veggies, flavorful spices, and chopped bacon. Cooked low and slow for six to eight hours, these warm and cozy peas make for a hearty side or main course for the chilly weather.

00:00Throw everything into the crock pot and you don't touch it till it's done.
00:02Starting with six cups of water, one chicken bouillon cube, a pound of black-eyed peas,
00:06eight ounces of diced ham, four slices of chopped bacon, one chopped onion, one red bell pepper,
00:10one de-seeded jalapeno chop, two cloves of garlic, ground cumin, some black pepper,
00:13some cayenne, and salt to taste. Give it a stir. Cover it with a lid and cook on low for six to eight hours.
00:17Let's go ahead and serve it up. I'm garnishing with some green onions and a little pepper sauce.
