00:06:22the floor with a Charleston. It's comedian Babatunde Aleshe and his partner, Nancy.
00:06:33Hold on. Oh, yeah? I love getting to do this.
00:06:39Hi, people. My name is Babatunde Aleshe and I'm best known for being a stand-up comedian.
00:06:45I was like...
00:06:47I just get to make people laugh all day. That's just the best job ever.
00:06:53What I like about dancing is watching other people do it.
00:06:58I'm not supposed to be doing something like this. I don't dance.
00:07:02I mean, I'm looking forward to, like, challenging myself and seeing what I could do.
00:07:06But there's no turning back from this. I can't act hard anymore.
00:07:10Like, the man am I going to be like, nah, bruv, you're a ballroom dancer.
00:07:16Oh, Lord, what am I doing? What am I doing, guys?
00:07:19Learning the Charleston, I'm finding it very, very hard.
00:07:27Okay.
00:07:29Yeah, they say less is more, but not with the Charleston.
00:07:32More is more.
00:07:33More, more, more, more. You can do better.
00:07:36How Nancy is teaching me is by chasing me around the room, telling me to do it again.
00:07:42Cat, cat, I love you. Do it again.
00:07:46When it comes to the show, I'm going to be a bag of nerves.
00:07:49I'm a bag of nerves now.
00:07:50But I'm getting the hang of it, bit by bit.
00:07:55In my dance, I am the naughty elf.
00:07:57I'm trying to convince Nancy to be naughty, but I think she needs some practice.
00:08:02So we are at a group rehearsal.
00:08:04I've given Nancy an air piece, and I'm going to make her mess with some of the dancing.
00:08:10This is going to be so much fun.
00:08:12Okay, Nancy, nod your head if you can hear me.
00:08:14All right.
00:08:15Go up to Kai and say, you look like an action figure.
00:08:17You look like an action figure.
00:08:19Me?
00:08:20Yeah.
00:08:21What one?
00:08:22Barbie.
00:08:23Barbie.
00:08:25Are you okay today?
00:08:26Okay.
00:08:27Hide, hide, hide.
00:08:28Praise coming.
00:08:29Hide, hide, hide.
00:08:34Get some snacks.
00:08:35Give Nick one.
00:08:36Put it in his mouth.
00:08:37Chinese medicine.
00:08:41Scream jingle bells to wake him up.
00:08:46Tell him you smell nice.
00:08:47You smell like Christmas cake.
00:08:49Can I bite you?
00:08:52That's a clear no.
00:08:53Thank you very much.
00:08:54That was incredible.
00:08:56I know.
00:08:57I think that you're ready to be a new ELF.
00:08:59Oh, absolutely.

00:14:54I'm very happy, I'm very happy.
00:14:58Yeah, but... Oh, oh, the door!
00:15:00The door? The door!
00:15:02Excuse me, that's, uh, that's the door.
00:15:04Oh!
00:15:06Oh!
00:15:08Oh!
00:15:10Oh!
00:15:12Oh!
00:15:14Thank goodness they can dance.
00:15:18Oh, dear.
00:15:20But I now feel Christmassy.
00:15:26Our next couple is former All Saints star Melanie Blatt and her partner Kai.
00:15:32Tonight they're dancing to the song Santa Baby, and just like Santa,
00:15:36Mel's hoping to deliver the perfect gift for Christmas Day,
00:15:39a sophisticated Strictly performance.
00:15:42So, I'm Mel, and I'm going to be attempting to dance.
00:15:50I used to be in a band in the 90s called All Saints.
00:15:54It was amazing being with my best mates traveling the world,
00:15:58but the dancing was a lot of plodding around.
00:16:00There was a lot of shoulder bopping back in those days.
00:16:03I don't think there's going to be any comparison to dancing on Strictly.
00:16:06I've always been nervous when I sang, so this is going to be like times a million.
00:16:12I am at the point in my life where I know that I need to challenge myself.
00:16:17I mean, you know, it's a once in a lifetime experience.
00:16:20I'm just going to give it my best.
00:16:26Kick.
00:16:27We are going to be dancing the Etta Jazz.
00:16:30It's sort of Fred and Ginger-esque.
00:16:32A lot of sort of posing.
00:16:34I'm actually really enjoying it.
00:16:36And that's probably got something to do with Kai as well.
00:16:38I mean, he's so lovely.
00:16:40I'm holding on to you for doing it like that.
00:16:41That's okay. That's normal.
00:16:42I wouldn't say I'm in my natural element here,
00:16:45because I've got scoliosis and I've got my rods in my spine,
00:16:47and that makes me quite stiff.
00:16:50Yeah, and let's give it to Gene Kelly.
00:16:52So if my life on Strictly wasn't hard enough,
00:16:54Kai decided to bring umbrellas into this relationship.
00:16:57Whoa!
00:16:58It's just like, to me, a spiky weapon.
00:17:03I don't like doing anything half-hearted.
00:17:06Whether I can put it off, I don't know,
00:17:08but I'm going to give it a good go.
00:17:12So we've been so busy rehearsing,
00:17:13and Kai's been so amazing teaching me this dance,
00:17:15I thought I'd take him to the fairground
00:17:17and let him have some fun on some rides.
00:17:21What a lovely idea Mel had to bring me to the fairground.
00:17:23It's not really Mel's cup of tea.
00:17:25I love it.
00:17:27I've never seen a fully-grown human man
00:17:28enjoy fairground rides as much as Kai.
00:17:29It's really really joy watching him.
00:17:30I love it so much.
00:17:32Oh, my gosh!
00:17:33I've been trying to get Mel on the roller coasters all day,
00:17:36but she's finally agreed to one,
00:17:37and I've heard it's really scary.
00:17:38Are you ready?
00:17:39Yes.
00:17:40Come on, let's go!
00:17:41It's been an amazing night.
00:17:42We've had so much fun,
00:17:43and now I'm just...
00:17:44Oh, my God!
00:17:45Oh, my God!
00:17:46Oh, my God!
00:17:47Oh, my God!
00:17:48Oh, my God!
00:17:49I've been trying to get Mel on the roller coasters all day,
00:17:51but she's finally agreed to one,
00:17:53and I've heard it's really scary.
00:17:54Are you ready?
00:17:55Yes.
00:17:56Come on, let's go!
00:17:57It's been an amazing night.
00:17:58We've had so much fun,
00:17:59and now I'm just ready to get on that dance floor and dance.
00:18:18Dancing Theatre Jazz.
00:18:20Melanie Blesch and her partner Kai Wiginton.

00:20:02Good job, well done!
00:20:05Thank you, Mel! Well done, my darling!
00:20:08I'm not surprised you look pleased with yourself.
00:20:10You made that look excellent, love!
00:20:11I can't believe I'm still standing. It was good.
00:20:14You made it look easy. Did you enjoy it?
00:20:16I did, I really enjoyed it.
00:20:18It took me a while to get to that point, but right now I enjoyed it.
00:20:21Well, the audience loved it. Let's see how the judges felt.
00:20:23A little bit of theatre jazz for you, Shirley.
00:20:26Anton and I love a little bit of theatre jazz.
00:20:28It was full of glitz and glamour.
00:20:31Baubles, bangles, everything that goes divine that hangs on your tree.
00:20:35Light, camera, action.
00:20:37And I particularly like the way you used the umbrella in the middle.
00:20:40You were totally in sync.
00:20:42You were never in sync, darling, on your umbrella.
00:20:44An umbrella?
00:20:45Umbarella.
00:20:46Your umbrella scene was fabulous.
00:20:48The whole thing, I just thought, well, that was fabulous.
00:20:51Do you think it was fabulous?
00:20:51Oh, I loved it!
00:20:52Fabulous!
00:20:53Fabulous!
00:20:53Fabulous!
00:20:54Fabulous!
00:20:54Oh!
00:20:55Oh!
00:20:55Oh!
00:20:56Anton?
00:20:57It was the night before Christmas and all was quiet in the department store until you
00:21:04came in and started with all that nonsense.
00:21:06I mean, I loved it.
00:21:07It was all stylish and sophisticated and theatre jazz.
00:21:11Yeah.
00:21:12Oh!
00:21:12I love a bit of theatre jazz.
00:21:14I didn't know what it was.
00:21:15That was...
00:21:16That was terrific.
00:21:18Your timing.
00:21:19I loved your timing.
00:21:20Ba-da-ba!
00:21:21All the tacit beats there that you hit and all that, giving it all...
00:21:25I really enjoyed it, and it's still an umbrella.
00:21:30All that and umbrellography, well done, Mel.
00:21:36Here to jazz, we're talking your language, Craig.
00:21:38Indeed.
00:21:39The custard was getting a little bit lumpy, darling.
00:21:42Oh!
00:21:43Well done.
00:21:44I don't know.
00:21:45It's much more beautiful than the custard.
00:21:49But you have a magnificent develope.
00:21:52I saw you do that, my love.
00:21:53You did those really sharp and fantastic jab kicks, which I love.
00:21:57The prop work is always difficult.
00:21:59I think you did a very fine job of it, my love.
00:22:02Wow!
00:22:04APPLAUSE
00:22:06I love Christmas, Craig.
00:22:08Not sick.
00:22:09Listen, if Santa saw this dance, he would be sprinting down the chimney,
00:22:16because this was lovely, it was sensual, you were in sync, it had a flair,
00:22:21and to top it all off, what a beautiful smile.
00:22:26Thank you so much.
00:22:27The judges loved it.
00:22:29And the audience did too.
00:22:30You're gorgeous.
00:22:31Thank you, Mel.
00:22:32Thank you very much.
00:22:33Mel and Kai.
00:22:36Come on then, let's get up these stairs.
00:22:38I love your face throughout all of that.
00:22:51You were like, yeah, this is what I'm doing, it's Christmas Day.
00:22:53And your daughter, Lillie Ella, she came over from America.
00:22:56Yep, but I haven't seen it for a year, so I can't wait for it to be done,
00:23:00so I can go and give her a big hug.
00:23:02Yeah, it won't be long, I promise.
00:23:04Tell me about how have you found the whole strictification?
00:23:08It's been amazing, yet challenging, you know, coming, getting out of my comfort zone,
00:23:13having to wear a dress, having to look like custard, you know, all of these things.
00:23:17But it's very Christmassy custard, so it's fine.
00:23:19It's absolutely fine.
00:23:21Kai, I have to mention your mum, Candice.
00:23:23She is in the audience tonight.
00:23:25She is, yes.
00:23:26And she makes you very special snack for Christmas Day.
00:23:29Share with the group.
00:23:30Yeah, so every Christmas morning since I was a boy,
00:23:32she's always made sausage rolls by hand,
00:23:35but with the secret ingredient of mango chutney.
00:23:38And I have to tell you, it is to die for.
00:23:40We're all here for it.
00:23:41Congratulations, you were both excellent.
00:23:44The scores are in.
00:23:45The judges' scores are in.
00:23:47Craig Revelhall.

00:24:05Congratulations.
00:24:06Congratulations.
00:24:07Still to come, Scarlett and Vito dance a cha-cha.
00:24:12How is training going?
00:24:13By the way, you both look...
00:24:14Magnificent.
00:24:15How...
00:24:16How is training?
00:24:17Honestly, we've had such a giggle,
00:24:19things have jiggled on my body that I didn't know could jiggle,
00:24:21but it's just like...
00:24:23Honestly, laughed from start to finish.
00:24:25Yeah, we laugh a lot, we chat a lot, and we snack, and we eat,
00:24:28and we eat a lot.
00:24:29Yeah, we eat a lot.
00:24:30We dance.
00:24:31We dance.
00:24:32We dance.
00:24:33OK, we can't wait to see it.
00:24:34I don't know if they've been drinking.
00:24:35Test.
00:24:36Our next couple is Westlife star Brian McFadden and his partner,
00:24:40Michelle, and they are going to be dancing a jive.
00:24:43Oh, Test.
00:24:44Now, before you carry on, I just...
00:24:46You know there isn't an Argentine tango in the show tonight,
00:24:50but...
00:24:51And we all know it's your favourite dance,
00:24:53so the four of us, we've had a whip round,
00:24:55and we decided to get you one for Christmas.
00:24:57Aw, thank you!
00:24:59CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:25:15Best present ever!
00:25:17Merry Christmas.
00:25:2012!
00:25:25A little bit too much stuffin' with the turkey.
00:25:28Hello, I'm Brian McFadden.
00:25:30You probably know me best for being in Westlife.
00:25:33Being in Westlife was one of the best experiences of my life,
00:25:36getting to travel around the world, being a pop star,
00:25:39which is something I never thought I was going to be as a kid.
00:25:42My house was always full of dancing.
00:25:44It was a huge part of growing up in Ireland.
00:25:46I wasn't very good at it, but I absolutely loved doing it.
00:25:50You know, Strictly, it's an institution.
00:25:52It's part of British history.
00:25:53But the main reason I'm doing this is for my daughter Ruby.
00:25:56She's absolutely obsessed with Strictly.
00:25:57I can't wait to see her little face when she sees me on Christmas Day.
00:26:03The jive is very, very difficult.
00:26:07It's not an easy dance.
00:26:08Point yourself.
00:26:09You know, it's fast.
00:26:10You need really good stamina for it.
00:26:12It's hard.
00:26:14You see, there's this preconceived idea
00:26:16that being in a boy band means you're a great dancer.
00:26:18But my Westlife days, our biggest dance move
00:26:20was getting off the stool for the key change.
00:26:26So today was a little bit of a break from the norm.
00:26:28And we had my wife, Danielle, and my daughter Ruby come down and join us.
00:26:31Hello.
00:26:32Do you want to watch us do our dance?
00:26:36My daddy's the best dancer in the world.
00:26:43I think my daddy's going to win Strictly.
00:26:49I heard that there's a great choir on in Somerset House singing Christmas carols.
00:26:57So I'm bringing Michelle to see what I do every day.
00:27:00Can't wait.
00:27:01It is Merry Christmas.
00:27:03Everybody's having fun.
00:27:06What a little treat for Christmas.
00:27:08To be able to hear all those voices around you.
00:27:10It is really magical.
00:27:11It's the best thing in the world.
00:27:12Now that we have you here, there actually is a particular number we sing.
00:27:19Oh really?
00:27:20About flying.
00:27:21I'll fly without wigs.
00:27:22I wasn't really prepared for that, but I've been singing that song for 27 years now.
00:27:27So it's in there.
00:27:29Everybody's looking for that something.
00:27:35One thing that makes it all complete.
00:27:39When Brian was singing, it did feel quite emotional.
00:27:42It's a beautiful song.
00:27:43Well for me, it's waking up beside you.
00:27:47To be able to sing with a big choir like that, that was a pretty special moment.
00:27:51Sunrise on your face.
00:27:53Now, it feels like the night before Christmas.
00:27:56Everything's ready to go.
00:27:58And now, focus on the dance.
00:28:09Dancing with a job.
00:28:10Brian McFadden and his partner Michelle Chekis.
00:28:26So he's been singing in theì—°ly movie.
00:28:27He is.
00:28:28And you thought he was like a reverse.
00:28:29He was in his own.
00:28:30And he was just like a dude.
00:28:31He's a beautiful conference.
00:28:32He's been playing.
00:28:33He's a beautiful and beautiful kid.
00:28:35He's one of the champions!
00:28:36So some people have to be in the parallax.
00:28:37He's got to be in the調.
00:28:38He's got to be in the parts.
00:28:39He's got to be in the市.
00:28:40He's got to be in the city.
00:28:41He's got to be in the north.
00:28:42He's got to be in the woods.
00:28:43He's got to be in the woods.
00:28:45He's got to be in the woods.
00:28:46He's got to be in the mountains.
00:28:47And the way we were removed.
00:28:48We've been like a medical.
00:28:49So you said if you were bored child,
00:28:56Oh, my God.
00:29:26Oh, my God.
00:29:56Oh, my God.
00:30:11Are you okay, Brian?
00:30:12Are you okay there, Milo?
00:30:14I mean, not many people could manage that after a Christmas dinner guy drive.
00:30:20Oh, way too much turkey.
00:30:22You can have a lie down in a minute
00:30:24Not just yet. Let's go to the judges find out what they thought first
00:30:28Pretty good view there. Oh
00:30:31Yeah
00:30:34Too close you you were thrilled with that bit there. What are you enjoying this film?

00:30:51Thought this this was this was great
00:31:02You were magnificent I thought that was true

00:31:21The energy was absolutely fantastic. You even had

00:34:17Just a reminder that it's the audience vote combined with the judges' scores that will decide who will be crowned strictly Christmas champions 2025. They are over the moon test. Our next Christmas celebrity is Jodie Aounsley and her partner Neil and as a gladiator Jodie's used to going head-to-head in some extraordinary things.
00:34:26But how will she fare tonight as she enters the Strictly Arena for a street commercial showdown?
00:34:43APPLAUSE
00:34:44APPLAUSE
00:34:45Merry Christmas!
00:34:46I'm Jodie Aounsley but you might know me best as Fury on gladiators.
00:34:49It's the almighty Fury!
00:34:50I'm in love with the sheep of you.
00:34:51I've been in sport my whole life. It started with world code carrying championships. I then became British champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and then I represented England in rugby which was amazing.
00:34:55So I was born profoundly deaf but when I was 14 months old I had a cochlear implant fitted. Music, I can't hear it but we'll get round it.
00:35:05My dancing experience, non-existent but I'm always up for a challenge and I'm just going to give him my absolute all. What's the worst that can happen?
00:35:18Between dancing and gladiators, dancing is harder, I'm telling you.
00:35:30Every time when I came into it I was thinking oh gosh I'm going to have to be all elegant but the dance is never the most easy to go.
00:35:39The dance is always the most difficult to do.
00:35:45Gosh, I'm going to have to be all elegant, but the dance is so me.
00:35:49That's it, yeah.
00:35:50We're going to be dancing street commercial.
00:35:52It's power, it's agility, it's fun, but also with a bit of sass as well.
00:36:00I think normally you see the guys doing all the lifts,
00:36:02but I may have clipped Neil over my back, and I think that is so refreshing.
00:36:06Hopefully, he'll survive to the end.
00:36:07Neil's brought me back on the rugby field to attend the world record
00:36:16of pulling the most crackers in a minute.
00:36:19Jodie's got two Guinness world records, so I thought, team up together,
00:36:23and I might have a chance of winning my very own.
00:36:26Jodie, Neil, the minimum to beat is 63. Are you ready?
00:36:30Yes. Let's crack on.
00:36:34Sorry.
00:36:34In three, two, one, go.
00:36:40The adrenaline, because we were both shaking.
00:36:43We were shaking.
00:36:43I was trembling.
00:36:45Go, go, go.
00:36:47Three, two, one, stop.
00:37:07Jodie, Neil, the minimum to beat was 63.
00:37:10You achieved 72. Congratulations!
00:37:15You're officially amazing!
00:37:18I have a special guest with something for you.
00:37:23Congratulations, Santa!
00:37:25We absolutely smashed it, got the world record.
00:37:27Hopefully, now we can do the same with a dance and, you know, win that glitter ball.
00:37:31Bring it on.
00:37:33Let's go.
00:37:38Dunstan Street Commercial.
00:37:40Jodie Amsley and her partner, Neil Jones.

00:38:47And everything, the season's been missing
00:38:49Now that I'm here, makin' it clear
00:38:52It's gonna be a red, red, red Christmas this year
00:38:56Hey, Santa
00:38:57You know what's up
00:38:59Rockin' the truth and a side
00:39:01Big matchup
00:39:03See that it's young
00:39:04Ha!
00:39:05The Christmas season's a little more red
00:39:07Make the light, make the light, make the blue, but a crisp
00:39:09And everything, the season's been missing
00:39:11Now that I'm here, makin' it clear
00:39:14It's gonna be a red, red, red Christmas this year
00:39:18Smash that, well done
00:39:30Honestly, well done
00:39:32You can look up
00:39:36Well, my darling
00:39:38You all right?
00:39:39I know this is a special performance for you
00:39:42You absolutely nailed that
00:39:45I think we found another gladiator who can dance, Motsy
00:39:48Oh, my goodness
00:39:49Yes, for sure
00:39:52You slayed Christmas Queen
00:39:54You did
00:39:54That was really
00:39:56I enjoyed that so, so much
00:39:58There was a pump
00:39:59There was a vibe
00:40:00You were strong
00:40:01You were sharp
00:40:02And I understood the storytelling was a lot of fun
00:40:06So much, Motsy
00:40:07Thank you
00:40:08Shirley
00:40:09Well, well, definitely the boss lady
00:40:12I mean, when you kind of threw him over to the floor
00:40:14Yeah, she was in charge
00:40:15It was like the fight scene with the family on Christmas Day after too much wine
00:40:19Do you know what I mean?
00:40:20It was absolutely terrific
00:40:22You are a star, young lady
00:40:24Yeah
00:40:25All right
00:40:27Thank you
00:40:27I'm done
00:40:28I enjoyed it enormously
00:40:30I mean, Neil, you picked a dance to do
00:40:33A powerful dance like that
00:40:35I mean, I have to be honest, you came second best
00:40:37She was mighty
00:40:38She was mighty
00:40:39You were magnificent
00:40:40You were
00:40:41Wham!
00:40:44Wham!
00:40:45Wham!
00:40:46Two falls in a submission
00:40:47It was incredible
00:40:49I really, really
00:40:50Your timing was good
00:40:51Your musicality is good
00:40:53Your power was tremendous
00:40:55A lot of style as well
00:40:57I reckon you should do the main show
00:40:59Following Harry's mistake
00:41:00What a bad one
00:41:02He's good
00:41:03He's really good
00:41:04Craig
00:41:04Yeah, I have to agree
00:41:07Strong, clear, clean lines
00:41:10And moves
00:41:10I particularly love all the floor work that you were doing
00:41:14Because that stuff is not easy
00:41:16I particularly love, love, love the rugby tackle
00:41:20Seeing Neil go down
00:41:21That was my favourite bit
00:41:23Yeah, because he deserves that sometimes
00:41:26I thought the whole thing was formidable
00:41:30I think all the judges enjoyed Neil going down, Jodie
00:41:37And they certainly enjoyed your performance
00:41:39Congratulations
00:41:40It was brilliant
00:41:41Go and get your scores, we're close
00:41:42Well done, darling
00:41:53You did so, so well
00:41:56And it was a hard routine
00:41:58It was hard
00:41:59It was really hard
00:42:00Did you enjoy it, Jodie?
00:42:02Well, it was like a hit class
00:42:03I thought we were dancing
00:42:04But that was hard
00:42:05Like, I'm absolutely blowing
00:42:07You were magnificent
00:42:10How much does it mean for you to be here?
00:42:12Well, I think, obviously, it's been a pretty hard time
00:42:17And it...
00:42:18Because last week I sort of lost my dad
00:42:20Which was a shock
00:42:21And he was going to be here tonight to watch me
00:42:23So I think, if anything, it's actually been amazing
00:42:26To be around these guys
00:42:27Just getting me through it
00:42:29And...
00:42:30To be honest, I just danced like he was in the audience
00:42:35And I'm just happy my mum's here as well
00:42:38And she's, you know, got out and that
00:42:40So, yeah
00:42:41Yeah
00:42:42It meant a lot
00:42:43You did brilliantly
00:42:44We love you, Jodie
00:42:45Neil, how has it been working with this extraordinary woman?
00:42:48Honestly, it's been incredible
00:42:50And, you know, we all turn around every time and say
00:42:52Oh, they're great, they're working hard
00:42:53They're working hard
00:42:54I said, I said to you
00:42:55I sent you a message
00:42:56And I said
00:42:57If my daughter can be like you when she grows up
00:42:59Yeah
00:43:00I will be the happiest man in the world
00:43:02APPLAUSE
00:43:04You're amazing
00:43:05Good luck
00:43:06The scores are in
00:43:07Will the judges please reveal their scores?

00:43:30You're over the moon
00:43:31I'm just speechless to be honest
00:43:34You know, I just wanted to get through that dance
00:43:36Never mind that
00:43:37So I'm honestly chuffed
00:43:38Oh
00:43:39So sorry
00:43:40Someone's there
00:43:41It's the door
00:43:42Hello
00:43:43Oh
00:43:4447 mince pies for a Miss Tea Daily
00:43:47Yes
00:43:48We live together
00:43:49I'll take those
00:43:50There was a few more but I got a bit hungry
00:43:53LAUGHTER
00:43:54Tuck in
00:43:55Tuck in
00:43:56Yeah, go on
00:43:57Everyone get in
00:43:58Yes
00:43:59Oi, save me a mince pie you lot
00:44:01It is time now for something romantic
00:44:04So snuggle up on the sofa
00:44:06Give your loved ones a cuddle
00:44:08And watch a beautiful
00:44:09Viennese waltz from EastEnders star
00:44:11Nicholas Bailey and his partner Luba
00:44:14Fancy little snuggle Craig
00:44:16Come on
00:44:17I've always wanted to do this
00:44:19Snuggling
00:44:21My name's Nicholas Bailey
00:44:24I've been a professional actor for 35 years
00:44:26I'm best known for playing the part of Dr. Anthony Truman in EastEnders
00:44:31I really loved you
00:44:32I think being an actor will help me in my dance journey
00:44:37There's an extent to which you've got to be in the moment
00:44:39You've got to connect with an audience
00:44:41I love to dance
00:44:42Anytime there's a beat, I'm the first on the dance floor
00:44:45But in terms of formal dance training, there's no experience whatsoever
00:44:52When I step out there onto the Strictly dance floor, there will be pressure
00:44:57But I think you need that little edge
00:44:59Hopefully, that's when the magic happens
00:45:02And step and courtesy
00:45:05I've always wanted to do a Viennese waltz
00:45:08But when I turned up, I realised how technical it was
00:45:10It's very specific
00:45:13It's very specific
00:45:15So it's tough trying to get your head around exact form and structure
00:45:19So you...
00:45:20That's lovely
00:45:21It feels great to do the lifts
00:45:23I'm just worried that I'm going to drop Luba
00:45:26Or spin her off the stage
00:45:27But she's very, very kind
00:45:29Very, very patient
00:45:30Beautiful
00:45:31Gorgeous
00:45:32There you go
00:45:33It's amazing when you make a breakthrough
00:45:35And you just see the smile break out on Luba's face
00:45:38Well done
00:45:39When people say it's transformative, they really are right
00:45:42It's really alright
00:45:43It's pretty amazing
00:45:44And I'm really enjoying the experience
00:45:50Luba, thank you so much for teaching me how to dance
00:45:53You're welcome
00:45:54And as a sign of my gratitude
00:45:55I thought I'd bring you down to the amazing Albert Square
00:45:57For a spot of acting
00:45:59Yes!
00:46:00I love it!
00:46:01Yeah, let's go
00:46:02Luba, Luba, guess what?
00:46:04What happened?
00:46:05Someone broke into Ian's gaff overnight
00:46:07No way
00:46:08Yes, and stole all his mince pies
00:46:10How... how did they get in?
00:46:12They think perhaps they got in through the chimney
00:46:14Who can that be?
00:46:17Well, don't look at me
00:46:19I was in the Queen Vic all night
00:46:22At least there is some honest people still around
00:46:26It was lovely to take Luba on to Albert Square
00:46:30Get out of my pub!
00:46:31Listen, if I was an agent
00:46:33I'd find Luba in a heartbeat
00:46:35Oh, hi guys
00:46:36I found your birth certificate, Santa
00:46:38Let me see that
00:46:40Santa, it says here
00:46:41Luba's your mother
00:46:43You're not my mother
00:46:45Yes, I am!
00:46:47Nick, thank you so much
00:46:52This has been wonderful
00:46:54It's been lovely having you
00:46:55Go after a bit of acting with Luba
00:46:56And now I'm ready to get back on the dance floor
00:46:58And, uh, just have a great time
00:47:05Dancing the Viennese voice
00:47:06Nicholas Bailey and his partner Luba Worcester
00:47:17It's the most wonderful time of the year
00:47:28With the kids jingle belling
00:47:30And everyone telling you be of good cheer
00:47:36It's the most wonderful time of the year
00:47:45It's the half-happiest season of all
00:47:54With those holiday greetings
00:47:56And gay happy meetings
00:47:58When friends come to call
00:48:02It's the half-happiest season of all
00:48:11There'll be much mistletowing
00:48:13Controlling and hearts will be glowing
00:48:16When loved ones are near
00:48:19It's the most wonderful time
00:48:24Yes, the most wonderful time
00:48:28For the most wonderful time
00:48:34Of the year
00:48:42Yes!
00:48:43Well done!
00:48:44How about that!
00:48:45Nicholas!
00:48:46That was totally charming!
00:48:47You warmed my heart!
00:48:48Thank you!
00:48:49You look like you're having the best time ever!
00:48:50Oh, uh, amazingly!
00:48:51Yeah, I had a fantastic time!
00:48:52My heart's a little warm as well!
00:48:53Is it?
00:48:54It's going quite fun!
00:48:55It was brilliant!
00:48:56A gift for us all, Shirley!
00:48:57Thank you!
00:48:58Thank you!
00:48:59Thank you!
00:49:00Thank you!
00:49:01Thank you!
00:49:02Thank you!
00:49:03Thank you!
00:49:04Thank you!
00:49:05Thank you!
00:49:06Thank you!
00:49:07It's going quite fun. It was brilliant.
00:49:10A gift for us all, Shirley.
00:49:12My heart's warm, too, after watching that.
00:49:15I just thought it was beautiful.
00:49:17That is a gift worth giving over and over and over again,
00:49:21like a night out and the Ritz on Christmas Day.
00:49:24You are debonair. You are sophisticated.
00:49:28You swept across that floor.
00:49:30It was pure class on Christmas Day.
00:49:33You're all right. Thank you.
00:49:35You're right. It's amazing. Thank you.
00:49:37I can't wait to hear what Anton thought of it.
00:49:40Oh. Oh.
00:49:43Oh, just good.
00:49:45I have to tell you, it was a bit of a surprise,
00:49:48because it was really genuinely good.
00:49:51I mean, your hands. Yes.
00:49:53It's the sweepity sweepity sweepity sweepity.
00:49:57Hands and lovely and your top nine immaculate.
00:50:01Thank you. You know how you've been doing this for months, not days.
00:50:04It was absolutely beautiful.
00:50:06Well done.
00:50:07My favourite dance of the night.
00:50:09Oh.
00:50:10Beautiful.
00:50:11His favourite dance of the night.
00:50:12I can't wait to hear what Craig thought about those hands,
00:50:15because he's quite particular about those hands.
00:50:17Well, you had a small little incident, a little moment there.
00:50:21Aww.
00:50:22I'm just pointing out what I saw, darling, but you know what?
00:50:27I was as surprised as Anton.
00:50:29I've got to say, it had flow, it had rotation, you used the floor extremely well, darling.
00:50:36You were like a grand conductor out there.
00:50:39Yeah.
00:50:40Yes.
00:50:41And the hands were fantastic.
00:50:42Yes.
00:50:43Yes.
00:50:44Yes.
00:50:45Yes.
00:50:46Yes.
00:50:47Truly, truly, truly beautiful.
00:50:48I love the way you used your standing leg, and honestly, your frame was unbelievable.
00:50:53How about that tail suit?
00:50:54That tail suit.
00:50:55Oh.
00:50:56You know what?
00:50:57You belong in the Wiener Ball.
00:50:58You go in and do a New Year's Wiener Walzer.
00:51:01So, so, oh, very, very nice.
00:51:04Thank you so much.
00:51:06Thank you so much.
00:51:07You've been a full-on Christmas surprise for the judges.
00:51:10Congratulations.
00:51:11That's got to feel good.
00:51:13Oh, yeah, it's amazing.
00:51:14And when we're gliding together, and we're just connected like that, I just want to keep
00:51:17going into the car park and down the high street.
00:51:19Oh, we wish you would.
00:51:20Very well-deserved comments.
00:51:22Thank you so much.
00:51:23There you go.
00:51:24Thank you, Nicholas.
00:51:25And never...
00:51:27Let's go!
00:51:30Yay!
00:51:31Yes!
00:51:32You were such an amazing comment.
00:51:34A bit sweaty here.
00:51:35A bit tiny here.
00:51:36Nicholas, you've never been on the dance floor before.
00:51:37Never.
00:51:38And then you went and did that.
00:51:39Yeah, what just happened?
00:51:40I had an amazing teacher.
00:51:41Yeah, Luba.
00:51:42My maister.
00:51:44Luba is amazing.
00:51:45You were quite nervous.
00:51:46Yeah, yeah.
00:51:47It's odd.
00:51:48I felt like a sense of excitement.
00:51:49But once we locked into one another, it was just like the world just disappeared.
00:52:00It was a really amazing experience.
00:52:02It's good.
00:52:03Do you want to feel a bit?
00:52:04You want to feel a few butterflies?
00:52:05Yeah, of course.
00:52:06It's very important.
00:52:07I love the fact that you said Luba is the greatest teacher and she has some interesting techniques.
00:52:12Yeah, she does, don't you, Luba?
00:52:14Yes, I do.
00:52:15I do.
00:52:16Well, I made him dance with a chair, with a scarf, with a broom, with elastics.
00:52:20What else I did?
00:52:21That's right.
00:52:22That was about it.
00:52:23Yes, sir.
00:52:24I'll just make sure that once he doesn't have me by his side, he can keep dancing.
00:52:28That's right.
00:52:29You two were amazing.
00:52:31Good luck.
00:52:32The scores are in.
00:52:35The scores are in.
00:52:36Queen Rebel Hall.
00:52:37Nine.
00:52:38Moxie Mabuse.
00:52:39Ten!
00:52:40Woo!
00:52:41Woo!
00:52:42Woo!
00:52:43Woo!
00:52:44Woo!
00:52:45Woo!
00:52:46Woo!
00:52:47Woo!
00:52:48Woo!
00:52:49Woo!
00:52:50Woo!
00:52:52Woo!
00:52:53Yes!
00:52:54Nicholas and Luba, please do remember, it's a studio audience combined with the judges'
00:52:56scores that decide who will become our Strictly Christmas champions.
00:53:00You're not going to believe this.
00:53:02It's the door.
00:53:03Oh!
00:53:04Hello.
00:53:05You're not going to believe this. It's the door.
00:53:10Oh! Hello.
00:53:20It's carol singers.
00:53:35Oh!
00:53:41Oh!
00:53:45LAUGHTER
00:53:54So sweet!
00:53:57Our final couple tonight is taking us out-out for a cha-cha in a club.
00:54:01Some of the judges are keen to head out too, but I wasn't sure if it might still be a little bit early.
00:54:08It's never too early to go clubbing with Shirley.
00:54:14Let's go!
00:54:16Whatever you say, head judge.
00:54:19It's Scarlet Moffat and a partner Vito.
00:54:27I'm here! I'm excited.
00:54:29I'm so excited.
00:54:31I'm Scarlet Moffat and I am most famous for being on the telly.
00:54:35Probably for being a professional couch potato on Gogglebox.
00:54:39I feel like I've just been so lucky that I've got to do crazy shows.
00:54:43I feel like this one might be my favourite.
00:54:45I've always loved dance, so to do Strictly has been on my Christmas list since I was 13, since the show started.
00:54:55I'm so excited to meet the judges, you know.
00:54:58I really, really want to impress Shirley, because she's like the Latin Queen and I'm doing a cha-cha-cha.
00:55:03I just can't wait to strap my dance shoes on and just get on that floor.
00:55:10Run, run, step.
00:55:12Train with Vito. I've already worn that glitter ball because I'm just having the best time ever.
00:55:16Vito literally threw me in the deep end and by that I mean like actually threw me to the floor.
00:55:26Oh my God!
00:55:28I've not been thrown about like that ever.
00:55:31So, you know, Merry Christmas.
00:55:32Bend the front leg, big one. Shoo, shoo, stretch.
00:55:35So, I have learned a new word, which is bogies.
00:55:38When Scarlet was spinning around, there was a bit of bogies come out.
00:55:41Oh my God, I've got snot on my face.
00:55:44As a teacher, it makes me very proud. It means that you are spinning really quick, you know.
00:55:48So, I say like, good bogies.
00:55:50This is my dream and it's come true.
00:55:52I just want to enjoy every single second of it.
00:55:54So, me and Vito are having some well-earned rest from training and I really wanted Vito to meet my fiancé Scott and my little boy Jude.
00:56:04And we're going to go on a magical Christmas light trail.
00:56:07Oh, wow Jude!
00:56:09Look how many lights are out over there.
00:56:11What colours can you see?
00:56:13Are you cuddling daddy?
00:56:15We've only just introduced the idea of Santa to him, so hopefully he gets excited when he meets him.
00:56:21I think so.
00:56:22Hello there.
00:56:24Do you want to give Santa a high five?
00:56:26I want to give you a high five.
00:56:27Thank you very much.
00:56:29You're very kind.
00:56:30What would you like for Christmas?
00:56:34He's off.
00:56:36I just don't think he was that keen on Santa.
00:56:39He's more interested in the lights, bless him.
00:56:42Jude, so cute.
00:56:44Sorry, he's not off.
00:56:46Two-year-olds do what two-year-olds are going to do.
00:56:48This has been so wholesome, experiencing the madness of Christmas.
00:56:54And I'm just so excited now that Jude gets to watch his mummy and Vito on Christmas Day.

01:00:19and you walk around going, yeah, yeah, yeah, cha-cha-cha.
