00:00Will you look?
00:00The kids have been looking forward to this, like, all day.
00:04I thought Claire was coming.
00:05Oh, well, we left her at home with a mountain of presents to wrap
00:09and a pot of hot cocoa to help her power through it.
00:11Where's Johnny?
00:12He's bringing in the tree.
00:13Okay, so he doesn't drag her from the car to the front door.
00:15I'll go help him.
00:16No, I'll need it.
00:18I got it.
00:20Merry Christmas, Dad.
00:30Merry Christmas, Dad.
01:00Merry Christmas, Dad.
01:04How wonderful to have our tree up for the holiday in our beautiful new house.
01:09Well, I'm so happy you love it.
01:10I think it really is something, isn't it?
01:12Oh, Victor, you couldn't have given me a better Christmas gift.
01:17Oh, I can't remember the last time I felt so joyful.
01:26After all that you've been through this year,
01:28you deserve this and more.
01:47I didn't think you were coming home tonight.
01:49I didn't think you were coming.
01:55You haven't died, don't know.
01:58I didn't think you were coming.
01:58I didn't think I was coming.
02:12Welcome home.
02:40After a day in the trenches, it is good to be home.
02:44I was afraid it was going to be that bad.
02:47Yeah, the siege mentality has taken root and it's exhausting.
02:51You look wonderful.
02:53Thank you. I would like to offer you some holiday cheer.
02:57Okay.
02:58Yeah.
03:01Delicious.
03:03Hmm.
03:04So even though we're enduring our own nightmare before Christmas,
03:08thanks to Victor Newman,
03:10I want tonight to be about one thing only.
03:14Peace on Earth.
03:16Goodwill towards men.
03:18Does that include Victor?
03:20Oh, there's not enough coal in the world for that one.
03:23But right here and right now,
03:26I want to leave Victor Newman
03:29and all his chaos on the other side of that door
03:32and just enjoy the evening.
03:42It's Christmas Eve.
03:44Where else would I be?
03:47You threatened to leave me.
03:51And this morning, I did not hear you get up to go to work.
03:55Because I've been avoiding you.
03:58I guess you're still very angry, aren't you?
04:01Oh, I'm beyond angry.
04:04But it's Christmas and I want to spend it with family.
04:10I agree.
04:23The moment I walked in here
04:26brought me right back to last Christmas.
04:31Which was our first Christmas in this new house.
04:35And I was reminded
04:38how incredibly happy I was there.
04:42We video chatted with Noah in London.
04:45We gave him a virtual tour of the house.
04:47Do you remember that?
04:50Yeah, I remember.
04:52He was so happy we all were.
04:55And it was Claire's first Christmas as a Newman.
04:58Oh.
05:00And Cole's last one with us.
05:03Who knew so much would change in a year?
05:06I'm very glad I made peace with him.
05:08And invited him into the family.
05:13It was a lovely gesture.
05:17So I guess...
05:19you and I are still angry with each other.
05:22For the sake of the children, I hope that we, you know,
05:26can lay it to rest during the holidays.
05:27I would love nothing more.
05:30But I can't pretend that what you're doing to Jack is all right,
05:35because it isn't.
05:37And I'm not going to change my mind.
05:41Let's not talk about it.
05:42Victor.
06:03Victor.
06:05Do you really think a gift can solve everything?
06:08Please open it.
06:10Let's make tonight about us.
06:12The love.
06:14How lucky we are to have each other in such an amazing family.
06:18I can think of no better way to enjoy my evening.
06:20Wow.
06:22Looks great.
06:24So, uh, it is a little quiet.
06:25Where is our amazing family?
06:27Well, as you know, Ashley is spending the holidays in Paris,
06:30and Tracy went out to dinner with Amy.
06:32Oh, I love hearing that.
06:34The two of them have had a very difficult year.
06:36Spending time with a lifelong friend can be a real comfort.
06:39And our, uh, our son and our grandson?
06:41Oh, I love hearing that.
06:43The two of them have had a very difficult year.
06:45Spending time with a lifelong friend can be a real comfort.
06:46And our, uh, our son and our grandson?
06:50Oh, Kyle took Harrison to a friend's Christmas party,
06:53and word has it there'll be a pinata.
06:55Ooh, Harrison will be thrilled.
06:57And you know what?
06:59Kyle getting to see the kids having fun,
07:01getting excited about Santa,
07:03will maybe put him in a better mood.
07:06I hope so.
07:07I'm kind of worried about him with Claire.
07:11I know that he got her a Christmas present,
07:13but I don't think he has any hope of any kind of reconciliation.
07:16I think he's gone as far as thinking a clean break would be best for both of them.
07:21Young love is so complicated.
07:24I guess old love has its perks.
07:27Well, I prefer to think of it as mature love.
07:31Ah.
07:32You know, as much as I am looking forward to our Christmas tradition
07:35of my reading a visit from St. Nicholas to Harrison,
07:38the visions dancing through my head right now
07:41have nothing to do with sugar plums.
07:44Oh, you'd better be careful.
07:45You've been so nice all year,
07:48you don't want to get put on the naughty list, do you?
07:51I don't know.
07:52Maybe.
07:53Maybe.
07:54Well, that's a, that's a heck of a tree right there.
08:00Well, it was the only one left on the lot.
08:03So, I, I guess that's what happens when you wait until the last minute.
08:06Yeah, yeah.
08:07And clearly you beat Charlie Brown to the tree because, uh,
08:10he would have picked that one.
08:11Dad.
08:12Yeah, well.
08:14Well, I think it's perfect.
08:15Yeah.
08:16It is. It's beautiful.
08:17Once we decorate it, you know, with lights and ornaments,
08:20it'll be beautiful.
08:21Ah, my bad. I'm sorry.
08:23What?
08:25I got lights.
08:26I don't have ornaments.
08:27I forgot them in the storage.
08:30So.
08:31Oh.
08:32Well, you two did just launch a major media company.
08:35So, um, it makes sense that certain things would slip between the cracks.
08:38But what are we going to do?
08:40We can't just leave the tree like this.
08:42It looks so sad.
08:45Yeah.
08:47I have an idea.
08:53Sally, you saved the day.
08:57Oh, well, I don't know about that.
08:59Oh, it's brilliant.
09:00I think it's charming.
09:01I think we should have a popcorn tree every year.
09:03Yeah.
09:04I kind of did.
09:05Some years I didn't even have a tree.
09:07That's terrible.
09:08I know, right?
09:09But, you know what?
09:10The years we did, we certainly didn't have many ornaments, so we had to be creative if we wanted to decorate our tree and deck our halls.
09:16I'm sorry that your childhood was so difficult.
09:19I survived.
09:21And I gained popcorn skills.
09:23And we are grateful for that.
09:25Well, thank you.
09:26Thank you both for having us over.
09:28Of course.
09:29You know, it's your first Christmas without Cole.
09:31We just want you to know that we're here for you.
09:35Hey, stop eating the decorations.
09:37Yeah.
09:38That's my good delights, which is the hardest part, ask anyone.
09:41Maybe you two could give your parents the best Christmas present ever.
09:44I don't know if we could afford that.
09:46Well, it's free.
09:47Can you just please not fight, at least for tonight?
09:49Yeah.
09:50Just one silent night, please?
09:52Come on.
09:53That was good.
09:54I got a million of them.
09:55That's what we're afraid of.
09:56Tell me you didn't tell your jokes at the launch party.
09:58No, no.
09:59I saved those for you.
10:00Launches at the party was great.
10:01Beth, you totally killed it.
10:03Oh, I hope so.
10:05So how's Apple Communications going?
10:07Are you having fun?
10:08I am.
10:09Yeah, yeah.
10:10Best time.
10:11What's your engagement rate?
10:12Wow.
10:13Tom might be running the company someday.
10:15Yeah, I've been working on it for months and all of a sudden now you're interested, huh?
10:18Yeah.
10:19So, just curious, how is this going to be different from Uncle Adam's media company?
10:23In every possible way.
10:24Like how?
10:25Integrity for one, transparency.
10:28Unlike Adam and Chelsea, we're not going to run this company and weaponize it to go against
10:31people that think differently than us.
10:32Oh, Billy.
10:33We're not going to use unsubstantiated stories in order to go after our competitors, you know?
10:36You know, maybe we could table this conversation for a different time.
10:39Sure.
10:40But I also think it's important for Johnny and Katie to know if they're going to start a business,
10:43they should be thinking about integrity.
10:45Something that, you know, that means something.
10:47What?
10:48Like gambling off the jabot?
10:49Johnny.
10:50It's okay.
10:51Johnny, you're not wrong.
10:53I, uh, made a lot of mistakes, but I've learned from my mistakes.
10:58And because of that, I have a new outlook on life and in business.
11:02And a lot of that comes from this woman sitting beside me here.
11:04Oh, I don't know if I could take credit for that.
11:07That's true.
11:08You've helped me see what's important.
11:10It's not about holding grudges or fighting back all the time.
11:13I've had the pleasure of watching you work day in and day out,
11:16and your drive and your focus for happy communications is something to be proud of.
11:20She's a star.
11:22One that I'm willing to follow anywhere.
11:24A star.
11:25We don't have a star for the tree.
11:27You, the candles, the decorations, the Christmas spirit.
11:36Exactly what I needed, and I had no idea.
11:39How is it you always know how to bring me out of the churn and back into some semblance of peace?
11:45That's what this season's about, in a way.
11:47Short days, long dark nights where you come together with the people you love and find the light in their hearts.
11:56Wow.
11:57That was very poetic.
11:59I think it's the eggnog.
12:02You know, despite everything that's happening on the other side of that door, our home has never felt so much like home.
12:14I was, I was really lost for a long time.
12:19But now, you've given me so much, Jack.
12:26Your love, your acceptance, a second chance with Kyle.
12:33The life that I share with you and our son is everything to me.
12:39It's the only gift I'd ever want.
12:41And you have returned that love one hundredfold.
12:45Nurtured it, grown it.
12:48Your love, your joy, your light has brought me so much happiness.
12:54I cannot imagine a world without you next to me.
12:58Here.
13:03Cheers.
13:04Merry Christmas.
13:05Merry Christmas.
13:09Oh.
13:12Oh, my God.
13:16This is exquisite.
13:17I've never seen anything like this.
13:24It's believed to have been part of the collection of Maria Theresa, who was the only female monarch in the Habsburg Empire.
13:34Wasn't she the mother of Marie Antoinette?
13:37She was.
13:38She had fifteen children.
13:40Oh.
13:41Well, that's where all the similarities end.
13:44This is just beautiful.
13:49It's so rare.
13:53Want me to put it on you?
13:57Okay.
14:14It's beautiful as you are.
14:29There's something else, though.
14:32It's a little note.
14:35Apparently, this was part of Maria Theresa's letters.
14:44My heart is entirely devoted to my people.
14:48And I shall never spare myself where their welfare is concerned.
14:56That sounds like something you could have written.
15:02Oh.
15:11This really is magnificent.
15:14I'm glad to see your smile again.
15:18I know what you're doing.
15:21What? What am I doing?
15:22You're trying to charm me, which you're very good at, into getting me to change my stance on the situation with Jack.
15:29I am not.
15:32I'm just trying to, you know, get rid of all the conflicts.
15:37Before tomorrow.
15:40Our children.
15:48What?
15:59What's this?
16:06I bought it for you a long time ago.
16:09Before we were fighting.
16:16I am feeling far more festive than I did just a little while ago.
16:19Well, that's the idea.
16:20So, uh, I know you said that Kyle's and my love for you is the only gift you needed this year.
16:26I was hoping that maybe you could make room for just one more.
16:30Oh, no, no.
16:32You got me something.
16:33We said no presents this year.
16:36Open myself.
16:39Here you go.
16:41Go ahead. Open it.
16:43I have a confession.
16:44What?
16:45Hmm.
16:49For you.
16:50What happened to the whole no gifts thing?
16:53Oh, I couldn't help myself.
16:54Alright, you go ahead.
16:55You open yours first.
16:56Okay.
16:57Okay.
17:02Max Factor's autobiography.
17:05First edition.
17:06Big deal.
17:07Wow.
17:08I remember you telling me that your father had such admiration for Max Factor and how he rose to fame in Hollywood.
17:15This man built an incredible family company with his children and his grandchildren carrying on the legacy he created for them.
17:23Just like John Abbott.
17:25Two visionaries for whom family meant everything.
17:27Well, after you told me the story, I read the book myself and I was blown away by the scope of what he created and accomplished and with his family by his side.
17:40And, of course, with Jabot Classic, I am very inspired by the man who coined the term makeup.
17:46I know I talk about my father a lot.
17:52The butt of jokes every once in a while.
17:54But, look, if you remembered, that conversation about my father means everything to me.
18:05I love my gift.
18:06I will cherish this forever.
18:10Ready for the reveal?
18:11Yes.
18:13Hey!
18:14Whoa!
18:15Look at that. It's beautiful.
18:17It just needed a little bit of love, I guess, huh?
18:19Yeah.
18:20But it's always a star or an angel on top.
18:23Since you're such an angel, maybe you can just sit on it.
18:25Johnny.
18:26Come on, Johnny. What happened to the truce?
18:27I love my kid sister.
18:29You can be a little bit of pain sometimes, but I think she's pretty cool.
18:32Thanks for noticing the cool part.
18:34There it is. Peace on Earth, at least for a moment.
18:36You know what? The garlands on that tree remind me of.
18:39You remember those little tin stars that we used to make when you were little?
18:43Yeah.
18:44We can make a big one for the tree.
18:45Oh, yeah.
18:46Do you have tinfoil?
18:47We do have tinfoil.
18:48Yeah.
18:49Follow me.
18:51Yeah.
18:52Come on, come on, come on.
18:53Billy, you know, he seems, um, he seems happier than I've seen him in a long time.
19:04Still can't help but worry about him.
19:06You know, Billy, sometimes he acts or seems like he's okay, even if he's not.
19:16Especially if he's not.
19:18I've seen this before.
19:19His jokes, his optimism, his energy, it's like he's trying really hard to sell this new and improved outlook.
19:28Not just to everyone, but to himself.
19:34Don't worry about the same thing.
19:35I know Billy wants to believe that he's turned things around.
19:49And he's trying so hard and my heart goes out to him.
19:52But after what Jill did to him, the way she betrayed him, I mean, that hurt and that anger, it runs so deep.
20:01And it's a hatred for Victor.
20:04I'm very well aware.
20:07It's just as hard as he's trying.
20:09I mean, we just saw how close to the surface that anger really is.
20:13I mean, the way that he vented about Adam, that rage, it's like right there.
20:17I don't know, it just makes me wonder if there's ever been a moment in Billy's life when he wasn't motivated by anger.
20:25You know, wanting to get back at someone or prove something to them.
20:30I can't say that I can think of any.
20:35You know, when Billy and I first got closer, after Adam and Chelsea cheated on us,
20:41we were hyper aware that it was very possible that the only motivation for us to take our friendship to the next level was revenge.
20:53But we talked about it. A lot.
20:56And, you know, we were very confident that it wasn't about that at all.
21:01That what we had was real.
21:05Billy doesn't confide in me about his feelings for you.
21:08But I can tell by the way he spoke about you, at the launch party, and also tonight, that Billy's feelings aren't about anything or anyone but you.
21:23Yeah, I mean, I don't doubt his heart.
21:27I mean, at least the part he's given to me, it's just the other part, the broken part, that worries me.
21:32Why?
21:33Billy has sworn to me that he has let go of that anger.
21:42That he's just focused on the positive with us and with the success of Avid Communications.
21:46And I really want to believe that that is genuine and sustainable.
21:50I just, I've been through this.
21:53This kind of white-knuckled optimism. I've lived through it before.
21:58When?
21:59My father.
22:03He could be so much like Billy.
22:07Never met a bet that he didn't like, couldn't win.
22:11Except for when he didn't, which was most of the time.
22:14He had one speed, it was go for broke.
22:17Which usually got him in trouble.
22:20And when he did, he just doubled down.
22:22Then came the booze.
22:28To numb the pain and...
22:31Anyway, I picked him up off the floor figuratively and literally.
22:37More times than I can count.
22:40May I ask you a question?
22:43Yeah, anything.
22:44Are you trying to love Billy, or save him?
22:58It's gorgeous.
23:00That necklace belonged to Coco Chanel.
23:03The Coco Chanel?
23:04She made so many iconic pieces of jewelry at Maison Grupo.
23:10This one she kept to herself.
23:12Oh my God, Jack, I love it.
23:15May I?
23:17Please.
23:21Okay.
23:23I do?
23:25Oh.
23:26Wow.
23:31I don't know which one outshines the other.
23:35The necklace...
23:37Or the gem that is my wife.
23:45So interesting.
23:47It's one of Hannah Arendt's personal journals.
23:51Hannah Arendt?
23:53Whoa.
23:55Maybe, how did you...
23:57You know, she was one of the most important German-American thinkers and philosophers.
24:04I know how much to admire her work.
24:07And when I learned it was available, I thought it should live in your library.
24:11I love this.
24:15Well, I guess this Christmas, even though we disagree on a few topics,
24:21because we were on the same wavelength when it came to buying each other gifts.
24:29Very personal.
24:32Do you know what I do every year the day after Christmas?
24:36No.
24:38I start thinking about what I'm gonna get you the next Christmas.
24:41Why's that?
24:44I have to work hard to keep up with you.
24:52How many Christmases have you and I spent together?
24:59Too many to count.
25:02Just try to remember.
25:06Because...
25:09Those were some of the happiest times in our lives.
25:21I was telling the kids earlier that my family didn't have a lot growing up.
25:32And I was okay with that.
25:33You know, I learned not to expect much on my birthdays and on Christmas.
25:41But this one year, I saw this TV commercial for this...
25:46kid-sized sewing machine.
25:48And I knew that it was way more than anyone could or would ever spend on me.
25:58But I couldn't stop talking about it.
26:03Or dreaming about it.
26:05And my father, he swore up and down
26:09that he was gonna get it for me.
26:16It wasn't there Christmas morning, was it?
26:19It wasn't.
26:24And neither was my dad.
26:27I'm sorry.
26:29And the worst part...
26:31was when I did see him.
26:33It was like a week later.
26:35It was just all smiles.
26:38It was like he didn't even realize that he'd let me down.
26:41It was just on to the next dream that wasn't gonna come true.
26:45Or the next promise that he was gonna break.
26:47The next thing he couldn't deliver.
26:55So, when Billy promised me this amazing future...
27:00with Abbott Communications, and then it was gone.
27:02And now it's back.
27:07I've just been through this before.
27:09You know, I can't...
27:11I don't wanna do it again.
27:12I can't.
27:14This has to be real.
27:15With Billy.
27:18We're never gonna make it.
27:26We have had so many wonderful Christmases.
27:28This is not the first time that we have been at odds with each other.
27:34No, it is not.
27:39Merry Christmas.
27:42May I come in?
27:46I...
27:47I know it's not exactly the tree at Rockefeller Center.
28:00But I think it'll do nicely.
28:05Want to help you with that or what?
28:06No, no, no. I can do it.
28:08How'd you know I was here?
28:10Michael told me.
28:12That last minute I could barely get my things out, but...
28:16Anyway.
28:19Got your tree.
28:21Ta-da!
28:22Well, at least it looks like Ebony's or Scrooge doesn't live there.
28:29What are you doing for Christmas?
28:31This night, a long day of traveling, sir.
28:34Yeah, I get it.
28:35I just wanted to make sure that you're not alone, that's all.
28:39I'll keep busy with the holiday, okay?
28:41Well, the family is getting together.
28:43If you'd like to join us, you're welcome.
28:45No, thank you. I'll be fine.
28:48You could do a lot worse.
28:50A lot of people are this year.
28:52Anyway, um, don't forget to water the tree.
28:56And, um, goodnight.
28:59Goodnight.
29:15You know...
29:17I probably didn't tell you then, but that Christmas tree meant everything to me.
29:30We might have been apart, but, um...
29:34You're always in my heart.
29:39Well, I've already thanked you for the beautiful necklace.
29:42But what I would most like to thank you for...
29:49Is our children.
29:51Our family.
29:53Our love.
29:57It's days like this when you...
29:59Realize how truly important they are.
30:02Yeah.
30:05Especially this day.
30:07I remember...
30:13When I first told you what happened on the 24th of December.
30:21When I was seven years old.
30:24My mother left me...
30:27In an orphanage.
30:28Because my father had left us and we didn't have enough money to...
30:35Survive.
30:36She had not enough money to feed me.
30:39So she left me in an orphanage.
30:43And now, look at what we have.
30:57The life we have built.
30:59Together.
31:00What beautiful children we have.
31:10The grand children.
31:12The grand children.
31:13Roger.
31:27I'm so sorry.
31:29I know that was a lot to put on you, especially on Christmas Eve.
31:34I know this is a rough one for you.
31:37You and Billy have made this a really warm one.
31:41Letting people in and sharing our hearts together, that's what this holiday is about.
31:47We did it. It's beautiful.
31:50You acted yourselves.
31:52It's perfect. Who wants the honors? Put it on there.
31:54I think Katie should do it.
31:56You angling for more presents?
31:58Is it working?
31:59Okay, no, but it just makes me love you more than I already do.
32:02That's possible.
32:03What can I say? I'm a good guy.
32:05You ready?
32:06Really?
32:07I mean, unless if you don't want to.
32:08I do, I do.
32:11Ta-da!
32:13Oh, that's beautiful.
32:14Now it really is perfect.
32:15Yeah, it really is perfect.
32:17Well, I think since our work here is done, I should probably get these kids home.
32:22Thank you for stopping by.
32:24Well, thank you for having us.
32:25Yes.
32:26Where's yours?
32:27Back home.
32:28Oh, and your presents are going to be under your mom's tree at home because clearly there's no room for them here.
32:33Can we do this every year?
32:35Please.
32:36I don't see why not.
32:37Hold on, you got your daughter scarfed in.
32:39Merry Christmas.
32:40Merry Christmas.
32:41I love you.
32:42That's yours.
32:43I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay?
32:44Fine.
32:45Love you.
32:46I'll see you guys tomorrow.
32:52Well, that was fun.
32:53That was fun.
32:54They did an amazing job on that tree and with everything else, of course.
33:00Yeah, the only thing missing is Delia's ornament.
33:04I'm sorry.
33:06It's okay.
33:07It's always right here.
33:08What you love this time of year, though?
33:09It's used for believing.
33:10That's what they say.
33:11I believe in you.
33:12I believe in us, what we can accomplish.
33:13I don't know if it's the end of the holidays or, I don't know, just the feeling of being on the right path, but no more regrets, only looking for you.
33:35It's because of you.
33:36Sally, I'm just grateful you're in my life.
33:37Merry Christmas.
33:38Merry Christmas.
33:39Merry Christmas.
33:40Merry Christmas.
33:41I promise.
33:42I promise.
33:43I promise you, I will do all of those things until you die.
33:45What about you?
33:46What about you?
33:47I promise you, I will do all of those things.
33:49I promise.
33:50I promise you, I will do all of those things.
34:07I promise.
34:07I will do it.
34:09I promise you, I will do whatever it takes to protect your family and its legacy.
34:17You know that.
34:19Our family.
34:21You are now integral to this family and its legacy.
34:26You know that, right?
34:28Well, then I'm even more determined to prove to the world that we Abbots can't be stopped.
34:35Ever.
34:35Ever.
34:39Merry Christmas, Mrs. Abbott.
34:42Merry Christmas, Mr. Abbott.
34:53We have survived so much.
34:56Yes, we have, my darling.
35:00Many times I thought we were down for the count, Andrew.
35:02And we always came back.
35:08And look what we have now.
35:11It's a beautiful home.
35:14Beautiful showroom.
35:16Grand showroom.
35:18Even a great-grandchild.
35:20We have a lot to be proud of.
35:29Merry Christmas, Abby.
35:31Merry Christmas, Abby.
35:31It's time to spread some holiday cheer.
35:53Here's to a season filled with love.
35:55Light and laughter.
35:57And time to celebrate.
35:58With old friends.
35:59And maybe some new ones, too.
36:01We're sending you warm wishes.
36:03And lots of holiday joy.
36:04May your holidays be merry and bright.
36:06Thank you for welcoming us into your homes.
