President Lai Ching-te attended the opening ceremony of Taoyuan International Airport's new Terminal 3. The expansion is expected to serve 140,000 passengers each day. Lai praised the project, and urged lawmakers to support the nation's development by passing the 2026 general budget, which has stalled due to pushback from opposition parties.

00:05President Lai Qingde was there for the occasion.

00:22Airport officials expect around 140,000 passengers

00:27at Taoyuan International Airport's Terminal 3 each day,

00:31though they'll need to check in at a different terminal for now.

00:34The new extension will operate routes to North America,

00:37Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

00:40It's slated to begin full operations by 2027.

00:44At the ceremony, Lai praised the construction of the terminal

00:47and said he hoped the legislature could move forward

00:50on passing a budget for next year.
