00:00He pulled a cracker.
00:11Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but in here is delightful.
00:15Have a hot drink.
00:16Hey, joy in the way, everyone.
00:17The first day's restaurant is magical at Christmas.
00:20I don't know what it is about everyone, but they are just so loving.
00:24Even Fred's happier at Christmas.
00:26Yeah, yeah, you can do everything.
00:28I have to say, you have done a fantastic job at decorating the restaurant.
00:34It looks incredible.
00:36Love is certainly in the air at Christmas, and you can feel it.
00:39It's tantalising. It just sparkles.
00:41Now, look, all the daters, we have to give them the best present that they've ever had.
00:47The gift of love?
00:48I was going to say that.
00:50You keep stealing my lines.
00:52Christmas is my favourite time of the year.
00:58It's a time when we toast to new beginnings.
01:01Let's go, guys.
01:02Let's do this.
01:03Thanks, Merlin.
01:05Cheers.
01:06Cheers.
01:07You are only allowed in if you're on a good list.
01:10You know me.
01:11I like naughty people.
01:15Ho, ho, ho.
01:17This is Wes, a barber shop owner from Essex, who's hoping he can light up someone's Christmas.
01:27The party isn't really a party unless I'm there.
01:29I'd like to say that I'd make people have a good time.
01:32Bit like Fred.
01:33Do you know what I mean?
01:34Just rocking around, just checking everything's all right.
01:36Like a party concierge liaison person.
01:38Where are you from?
01:39Uh, Essex.
01:40I thought you were.
01:41It's just the way you were walking.
01:42You look like a geezer, no?
01:43Yeah, well, I don't know.
01:44Maybe.
01:45Are you?
01:46Yeah, about to be, yeah.
01:47Can you chat up any girls?
01:48I'll give it a go, yeah.
01:49Yeah?
01:50I think, yeah.
01:51Can you find a way to their heart?
01:52Yeah, hopefully.
01:53Can you rate yourself about a ten for me?
01:55I'd say a solid eight.
01:58I was expecting higher.
01:59I know, but you can't say that you look like a right **** on you.
02:02I mean, idiot.
02:03Sorry.
02:05Hey, Dan, fella, you all right?
02:06Thank you, very good.
02:07How's he?
02:08Nice, what's your name?
02:09Uh, Wes.
02:10Hello, Wes Merlin.
02:11Merry Christmas.
02:12Yeah, Merry Christmas to you too, mate.
02:13What can I get you?
02:14I'd like a pint, please, mate.
02:15Yeah?
02:16Handsome, thank you.
02:17On that side, that is the devil.
02:19Devil on your left side, angel on your right.
02:21And the angel's telling the devil to be quiet.
02:24So it's your good side trying to tell the naughty side
02:27to just hush it a little bit.
02:29Are they anyone's faces?
02:30No, no, just random ones, but I must admit, this one...
02:34That angel looks a spitting image to one of my best mate's wives.
02:39Yeah, that goes down well.
02:41Go well.
02:42Lovely, mate.
02:44It's nice of you, isn't it?
02:45Pleasure.
02:46Yeah, glad you like it.
02:47What did you do?
02:48You're a barber.
02:49Do you actually cut hair or are you just showing the show?
02:50Yes.
02:51No, no, I cut hair as well, yeah.
02:52Do you reckon I'd suit a Mohican?
02:53Maybe a mullet.
02:56Talk about the Christmas cracker you want sat here.
02:58Blonde, short, slim, light eyes, preferably.
03:04Outgoing, funny.
03:07Don't take yourself too seriously.
03:09Oh, God.
03:10All right, well, listen, you enjoy your pint.
03:11Thanks, mate.
03:12Anything you need, you give me a holler and we'll come running.
03:14Jaegers.
03:15Too early for that, man.
03:16Oh, la, la.
03:24Can you tell instantly if you're into someone, if you fancy someone?
03:27Within, like, five seconds of seeing them.
03:29One second, I'd say.
03:30I love your style, I love your elegance.
03:34How are you?
03:35I'm very good, how are you?
03:36I'm good, what's your name?
03:37Merry Christmas.
03:38Merry Christmas.
03:41Ready to unwrap Mr. Right this Christmas
03:44is 34-year-old Chloe.
03:47Christmas this year would be amazing if I got to spend it in, like, a cottage somewhere.
03:51You know, like, the postcard scenario surrounded by snow.
03:54It'd be nice to roll around in front of a log fire with my Christmas present.
04:00Where you come from, Chloe?
04:01I've come from Essex.
04:02You can't find any men there?
04:03Not myself.
04:04Why not?
04:05I'm just not very good at picking, I guess.
04:07Are you ready for your date?
04:08Yes, I think so.
04:09Come with me.
04:10Thank you, Fred.
04:12I definitely deserve love.
04:13I just want someone that's got a really great sense of humour.
04:16We can just travel the world taking the piss out of each other and everything we come across.
04:20And I just want to have a good time.
04:22Voila.
04:23Oh, my God.
04:24Hello.
04:25You all right?
04:26How are you doing?
04:27Nice to meet you.

04:32Nice to meet you, Chloe.
04:33You all right?
04:34Yeah, yeah, I'm good.
04:35Hey, Merry Christmas.
04:36Merry Christmas.
04:37What do you want to drink?
04:38Prosecco, I'm guessing.
04:39No.
04:40No?
04:41I call it Prosecco No.
04:42Okay.
04:43Yeah, it doesn't end well if I start thinking about it.
04:44Too many bubbles, yeah?
04:45No, all right, okay.
04:46I don't need it.
04:47All right.
04:48Can I get an old-fashioned, please?
04:49Yeah, of course.
04:50Why would you guess that?
04:51Because you sound like me.
04:52Yeah, I am, yeah.
04:53How old are you?
04:5437.
04:55Yeah, I'm 34.
04:56Oh, yeah.
04:57What do you do?
04:58I've got a barber shop.
04:59I'm a barber, yeah.
05:00Oh, can you cut girls there as well?
05:01I haven't done it for a while.
05:02I was going to say, because it's so many people.
05:05I don't know what it looked like afterwards, but I could do it.
05:09You look beautiful, by the way.
05:10Thank you very much.
05:11You know your best, too.
05:12Cheers, anyway.
05:14Cheers, darling.
05:15Cheers, babe.
05:16Nice to meet you.
05:17My favourite bit about Christmas, actually, is when you go down the pub on Boxing Day,
05:23and everyone's in their new clobber, because everyone's got new stuff for Christmas.
05:26They're like, you know what?
05:27I'm going to get dolled up, go down the pub.
05:28I'm a new maker.
05:29I'm a new maker.
05:30Yeah, and you can tell it's all, like, fresh out the box.
05:33Oh, I love Christmas.
05:34I do.
05:35I love Christmas.
05:36I do.
05:37Welcome to my Christmas song.
05:40Oping that Santa isn't the only man to bring her gifts this Christmas is retired nurse,
05:47Linda.
05:48You don't get older inside.
05:51It's just your outside that lets you down.
05:53Would you like to meet someone?
05:55Yeah, but you haven't got Jason Momoa on your books.
06:01How are you?
06:02I'm fine, thank you.
06:03What's your name?
06:04Linda.
06:05Linda, great.
06:06Do you do much dating?
06:07No.
06:08When was the last time you dated?
06:09Six years ago.
06:10Six years ago?
06:11And that's the only one in 16 years.
06:13Oh, wow.
06:14I get on with men extremely well, but just as friends.
06:19Come with me.
06:21I haven't found anybody who I would think, oh, this could turn into something else.
06:28Take a seat.
06:29Hello.
06:30We'll look after you.
06:31I will indeed.
06:32How are you going?

06:43Of course.
06:44Coming up.
06:46Tell me, Linda, what's your favourite things about Christmas?
06:48I love decorating the house.
06:49I put the tree up at the first weekend in December.
06:53And I keep it up till the end of January.
06:56So end of January?
06:57That's bad luck.
06:58It's not.
06:59I spend about two days putting the tree up, so I'm not going to take it down in a rush.
07:04After all that work, yeah.
07:06There we go.
07:08Always a pleasure, Linda.
07:10That's lovely.
07:12So tell me, how long have you been single?
07:1416 years.
07:1516 years.
07:16So this is a big moment for you, Linda.
07:18It is, yeah.
07:19I'm looking at someone who likes to make people laugh or laughs at you if you say something
07:26silly.
07:27I don't want somebody who talks about politics all the time and things like that because
07:32it gets on my nerves.
07:35it gets on my nerves.
07:36It gets on my nerves.
07:38It gets on my nerves.
07:40Christmas Linda's Christmas date is young at heart furniture maker Harry I'm in my late mid 40s
07:49no no yes I am yeah maybe late mid 40s that's right yeah I think 70 is the new fort I can
07:58dance I can run I can ride bikes I go paragliding I'm energetic and I'd like to share it with
08:05somebody who has got life left in them how are you I'm very good very nice to meet you nice to
08:13meet you too so tell me what brings you here at the first date restaurant this Christmas the fact
08:17that I live alone and I don't like it have you been living alone for a long time 18 months and
08:22you've been doing a much dating since then or none none I recently decorated the kitchen I was pleased
08:27with it and then I thought why decorate the kitchen so I need a reason that's it I need a reason to be
08:34this way I'd like somebody who's kind sensitive and smiley smiley very important and has good legs
08:44here we are you know each other no but what a nice surprise what a meeting well seeing you you've
08:58you've knocked me over oh thank you all right well take a seat before you fall off thank you a little
09:07Christmas gift yes oh you got me happy Christmas too is it a loaf of bread no I ought to find out what
09:17you're cold yes that would be a good start it would be a good thing Linda well I'm I'm Harry Linda
09:23pleased to be enchanté enchanté yes yes I'm gonna get this portfolio he's no it's all right I mean I'm
09:30loving this but I'll have a half a lager yes oh you're from Yorkshire then I am are you from the
09:36West Dryden yes your neighbour tuned in here you go my man thank you very much always a pleasure have a
09:43lovely day I would say get one yourself but I'm from Yorkshire nice one I like it
09:55so what brings you to first dates what do you think of what they found so far very happy nice restaurant
10:01it so how long have you been single for four or five months have you been on any date since you've
10:10been single yeah I've been on a few yeah you really like being with someone from when I was 21 I've
10:16probably been in three relationships and probably out of all of that I've been single for like nine
10:21months in 16 years you've been single for nine months that is absolutely wild to me yeah take it you
10:29fall in love easy can do anyone that has ever met me would say I was the most loyal person you ever
10:38meet got a bit of an open heart to be fair a little bit too much at times I think do you want to get
10:44married again oh you've been married before I've done all cover that oh you know yes I've married and
10:51divorced by 30 wow okay I don't let that many people in do you know I mean because she always
10:59end up getting hurt in the end hence the bravado and the show all the time have you ever been cheated
11:06on no comment but I think you can take the answer to that one I don't agree with all that cheating
11:13malarkey and that ain't a bit of me why would you do saying to someone that you wouldn't want done to
11:17yourself I just don't think it's nice but yourself so I was in relationships like long-term relationships
11:25back-to-back from when I was like 16 until I was 26 yeah and I had a few traumatic experiences oh
11:32darling and then it's all right it's life I've had boyfriends here and there and each one of them
11:39taught me exactly what I don't want in a partner I just want it to be easy just someone honest sorry
11:50yeah I've never been in a rush to meet anyone I just want to find the right person to enjoy life
12:02and the people that I've met since then they're just not the right people I mean I've been engaged
12:06before about we live together we bought a house and it turned out he lived a double life he was
12:13actually engaged to someone else as well and it was it was like a movie basically it almost feels
12:18like it didn't happen to me obviously it did but yes that's why I find it really hard to trust
12:28so it's been eight years that I've not had a long-term relationship shut up I know it's a long
12:36time oh bless her but it's all right I'll find it but that's all I want in life I just want to
12:42have some fun yeah yeah live live a little I'm having a really good time I'm having a much better time
12:50than I thought I was gonna have good the thing I was most worried about was the after bit you know
12:56like if you don't fancy someone yeah how do you let them down nicely yeah how are you gonna let me
13:02down back what do you think is the most romantic gift you could give someone maybe you can put
13:19yourself in a box I like you I like you and with a very lingerie lingerie sexy lingerie okay
13:27you can't imagine your family in front yeah I can yeah they'd be like okay she is definitely lost it
13:33so what do you want for Christmas this year

14:23six years ago we didn't really know what we're getting ourselves into and we walked into a little
14:29restaurant called first dates and something pretty magic happened good afternoon I'm good how are you
14:36what's your name Ilan what's your name Cindy Ilan nice to meet you I'm good I'm good thank you

14:59usually go for look size khaki shirt no I like so like olive skin like
15:06Mediterranean looking like teeth really important what about yourself brunette nice eyes good figure
15:14it's one who looks after themselves team khaki that's what it is the khaki the vibe
15:24so where do you guys leave now Cindy moved to Manchester we bought a house
15:29well he proposed 18 months after the show so it's a fast one yeah this good there was someone who
15:34looked a lot like Fred our wedding yeah okay we had a full-size cut out version of Fred wow he

16:23the trimmings but sadly Yorkshire puddings do not fall under the trimmings if I knew this was going to happen I
16:29would have brought some with me hey come on let's put this yeah we're not getting down to business
16:35it might be the best pull you get tonight oh can you smell that gunpowder you know what the smell of
16:45Hamlet cigars was always Christmas to me yeah yeah my husband were a big smoke off yeah yeah we found out
16:52that he'd got a tumor on his lung but if we'd have found out earlier it was a lower lobe of his
16:59lungs so you can take the lower lobe out but it had already transferred into his brain that's how we
17:05found out he was ill too late yeah it was all absolutely horrendous it was 57 when he died when
17:14he was 17 when we got married you just assume that you'll be together until you're old and
17:22decrepit you know and you don't ever think you're going to lose either of of you such a young age
17:30I'm fine I can I can cope with it most days
17:36sorry
17:47well we'd been married nearly 40 years when I lost John because I was thinking well some years
17:5640th that you know and it's something to look forward to and then it gone before that yeah yeah
18:02oh how bloody awful there's nobody can fill John's boots that's my husband it'd have to be a big pair of
18:13boots yeah he'd build anything George himself had to do dry stone walling he built an extension on the
18:23cottage that we had he did only thing I didn't like messing about with were electrics I lived that alone yeah
18:29yeah I would like to meet someone I've been single for 16 years it's my life I've got to do it I've got to live it how I want to
18:41I know what it feels like yeah it's horrible hey listen there's your present oh you could all laugh when
18:49you see those I tell you I didn't have a clue what to get it's hard enough time for people you know let
18:54alone people you don't know well yes super do yeah that's what I have at home all the time you might
19:03leave off you open it oh my god giant beaver tiny eyes isn't that funny oh god this is lovely thank you
19:21I love a notebook oh good oh yeah yeah yeah yeah I'll just tidy this lot away I think a man that can cook

19:42you very much thank you for being here only I mean it you you are absolutely delightful company thank you
19:49and when I first saw you that I wasn't joking or acting I wasn't ready for it and I saw you and I
19:55thought she's delightful oh I'm gonna have to be really rude and go to the toilet no no you're not
20:03being rude dog I don't know where I'm going well good luck I'll see you in about four hours I thought you
20:08still be here we are okay is he gonna be that small when he first comes out yeah 54 centimeters can you
20:18believe he's gonna be this tiny yeah what if I cry where do snowman go to dance snowballs yeah what
20:33is green covered in tinsel and goes ribbit ribbit well that'll be a Christmas frog a missile toad
20:40good I don't think I know well we're not on a normal day we met six years ago on this show so we've come
20:55back and pregnant yeah forget my date how's your day going going well yeah yeah yeah yeah proper mate
21:05look where I am six years old are you gonna go for a drink after all hundred percent yeah
21:11I've never liked these things me neither let's just do the madness let's just be so crazy and wild
21:22right now okay I can't do this I don't like no I don't like it either
21:27for 39 year old math teacher Bobby love is a numbers game if you're looking at my 100 plus
21:44first dates 80 to 85 percent of them actually ultimately been ended by them because they've
21:49not felt the right vibe and only two or three have been me saying no it's not working statistically I'm
21:55a failure at dating good to see you yes really good to see you I'm Bobby nice to meet you nice to meet
21:59you Bobby hi friend tell me what do you do for a living so maths teacher are you yes too much I'm a
22:04nerd I love learning I love numbers I love stats I love anything that's a bit like niche this is for
22:10you this is for me so have you been dating much I've been single for 11 years now I think the reason I
22:16might not be successful at dating is I lack edge I'm like a blunt scissor getting in the friend zone far
22:22too often come with me okay I've definitely learned to become empathetic and understand how women think
22:28but I just not been able to apply it to my own own dating life enjoy see you in a bit okay cheers
22:33yeah thank you Fred hello sir how are you very good very good what's your name Bobby Bobby thank you
22:38Bobby yeah your face is very familiar but I didn't know your name yes I'm a math teacher but I do a lot
22:42of like nerdy type of things I'm telling you ah there you go which ones I got my sort of lucky break
22:47doing university challenge as a captain of my Cambridge team about six seven years back yeah
22:54and why are you single uh clearly I'm just terrible at dating I think I've probably been on it must be
23:00like 100 first dates I reckon seriously that many what's the probabilities of actually being single
23:05after 100 first dates it's slim I'm looking for a woman who was really kind open-hearted I would
23:13like someone that's curious if someone's saying ah they hate learning about the world and books and
23:18documentaries and and podcasts then it wouldn't work they've got to be someone that's open to learning
23:28hello
23:31hoping to cure Bobby's heartache this Christmas is 31 year old doctor Rebecca when people find out I'm a
23:39doctor I'm always last for medical advice on one of my dates they immediately pulled out the phone
23:44and showed me a rash didn't tell me where but I'll be honest I didn't really want to know
23:50did you get a second date I didn't give them a second day hello how are you hello all right thank you
23:57what's your name it's Rebecca Rebecca what do you do Rebecca I'm a doctor are you yeah I would love to find
24:04someone who at Christmas kids kick the Christmas dinner because I'm rubbish at it so you're ready
24:09to meet your date I think okay let's go I know it's such a cliche for everyone to say it's not about
24:14looks for me it's really more about who they are here we are hi I'm Becky hey Becky hey the chairs are
24:23really high aren't they I'm hoping for someone who's kind and ambitious and honesty is one of my key
24:30things I'm looking for would you like drink oh can I be difficult so I love elderflower and something
24:34fruity is there something you'd recommend for that yes I can do you look very smart is that Christmas
24:40jumper yeah no but it's like not I was tempted to wear an elf jumper but that might be too much
24:45this is like you've toned it down yeah how big is your family I've got three brothers how about you
24:51where's your I've got a brother older younger he's four years younger but now I'd say he's probably a
24:57little bit more sensible than me he's often the one who's kind of picking up what I've dropped
25:01and things I think I might be similar so maybe if you do the clumsy thing I can you can catch it
25:06there you go yeah on the lookout it might be me accidentally tripping you up I know it'd be like
25:11a rom-com right yeah are you a fan of rom-coms I love rom-coms I don't think you can get better than
25:16that to be fair which is your favorite oh four weddings and a funeral I quite like can I confess
25:21you haven't seen that one I think I know bits of the plot yeah is it the same one as
25:28this is a baby and a four weddings four babies no what's it a funeral a wedding and a
25:37I remember early dates if it went badly I'd text them afterwards says do you want to give me a bit
25:42of feedback and some of them would give me feedback but I realize now that's not probably the best thing to
25:46do a funeral and a baby what's that one no is there like a is there like a sequel to that
25:52what do you call a frenchman wearing sandals philip philop I don't get it
26:15I don't know how does good king wenceslas like his pizzas deep pan crisp and even
26:28that's awful so you where is it wesley wesley yeah w-e-s-l-e-y
26:34why that's good to know the spelling I would have written it on your present before I'm setting
26:38up the loan I was going to I was going to write so random I'm going to write random
26:44I was trying to figure what to put on the date random
26:48what do you think when you walked in and saw him I just saw his cheesy grin for oh god here we go
26:57what are you going to make me literally yeah
26:59it's your girlfriend material I'll probably say wife material to be honest with her I thought she's
27:06unbelievably attractive and she's more than I expected oh fuck it's my taxi
27:13okay that's it don't worry mate it's all right I don't need you now it's all right yeah
27:23you gonna see each other again obviously yeah maybe
27:29what are you saying are you kidding
27:33let's play hard to get down
27:37there's more water yes darling please thanks that's me
27:45I don't think it could have gotten any better to myself you're a good christmas present thank you
27:51cheers babe cheers darling thank you thank you
27:53it's my always the thing that did it to start with personally it was every seven it yeah yeah the bill
28:06thank you
28:10aha very gentlemen thank you
28:23are you still enjoying or you're all finished here i think i think we've done this course haven't we
28:30yeah yeah you know tonight i might have a christmas pudding go bring us some figure pudding

28:47thank you very much i expect it to be blazing with brown
28:51what's it what you're laughing at what you do oh dear what keeps you busy monday to friday so i'm
29:01a doctor i've just finished my gp training oh congratulations thank you i literally start a new
29:06job in um a couple of weeks i'm a maths teacher that's like my main are you okay how long have you been
29:12doing that approaching 10 years okay so what age are you now if you don't mind me i'm 39 how are you
29:18back i'm 31 oh both of us not prior your prime number eight 39 is not 13 times three bad date chat
29:26okay get rid of that i've loved the certainty of numbers because if i look at an equation or a problem
29:33or a sum someone else in another part of the world they'll come to the same answer but dating there's that
29:39je ne sais quoi something that you can't quite predict it's just if it works it works and you
29:43can't quite put your finger on it okay are you ready for your christmas dinner yes oh thank you
29:48of course comes with all the trimmings wow yeah enjoy guys thank you christmas thank you
29:56do you mind if i start of course you can jacket off yeah yeah then we can see the christmas jumper
30:01in all your glory yeah exactly do you still live at home no i live in uh i lived with my parents for
30:07quite a long time actually in indian communities traditionally people used to historically leave
30:13when they got married but my parents like you're not getting married just leave the nicest way
30:19going like oh they think actually if you leave you might actually more likely to meet someone
30:22rather than being at home my parents are very proud of me because they've helped raise me they've helped
30:28give me my knowledge my love for the world my enthusiasm but if they're looking at like they've finished
30:34their job on bobby i think they probably feel that the one missing box is bobby meeting a partner
30:40and settling down that's the one thing i feel as if they feel as if they've messed up on their scorecard
30:45what's your opinion on the spark i personally don't believe in the whole love at first sight thing
30:52it's fine to have like a slow burn i think you can be friends before anything else if you kind of have
30:57to really get on particularly at this age yes you know like be like 18 or 20 it's they're going to
31:03change yeah yeah yeah prefrontal cortex not developed right make very bad decisions yeah you do yeah
31:10i think my intelligence is fun at parties where you've got multiple people having conversations and
31:16you're looking for interesting anecdotes maybe on a date it might be overwhelming if someone is just
31:21spitting out facts and capital cities and things the other things i read is don't work on dates
31:25oh octagon chapel oh here yeah this is what it is it's an octagon chapel it's beautiful yeah although
31:34when i think of octagon i think of um ultimate fighter championship they fight in an octagon
31:43i'm hoping there'll be someone that is willing to give me a chance
31:47there is something i want to talk about yeah do you remember the nativity play of course so i am 29
31:58years old yeah but i am still absolutely raging the fact that i never got to play mary i'm still fuming
32:03maybe we should do like a version here so i can actually fulfill my life but she doesn't actually
32:08have that many lines yeah but she's she's the one she's the it girl i mean i was one of the three
32:13wise men you are a wise man you are this is incredible wish my christmas didn't look like this
32:23i'm trying to remember the line i gave you back which one you had a few lines on the night
32:29i know this sounds so cringe but i can't remember let me get this straight i can't remember the last
32:37naturally beautiful person i saw as much as you i know that sounds cringe but i'm gonna give you the
32:41compliments no you've blown me away a bit like i'm not gonna lie
32:48put my soul's naturally beautiful with gravy dripping down my chin
32:53when a snowman has a temper tantrum what do you call it um temp tempura a meltdown that's good
33:04no it's not don't human me and some of you over there with a fabric christmas hat on i love
33:10stuff like that i do i leave christmas decorations up for uh too long yeah yeah me too christmas cards
33:18yeah i sent out two though this year this year i sent two yeah it's been a bit funny since well
33:25nell died 18 months ago how long have you been married 52 years
33:31it was a type of dementia and uh it was quite a quick decline this thing she had no appetite
33:42and and so she just she just withered away and um i was holding her hand when she died
33:49she was appreciative of everything that i'd done and she just stopped just like that stop
34:14she was appreciative of everything that i did and we still chatted away there you know and in the
34:24last moments she was happy all the time yeah yeah it was okay it was okay looking after her yeah she
34:30was stoical she she was you unless i'd done something wrong she was always in a good mood
34:35but i i do kind of miss being told off yeah probably you do you get used to it don't you
34:42get being told off women usually have higher standards i find yes yeah dare i say cleanliness
34:48yeah and how to behave in public that's another one i think we all need somebody to care for and
34:56do things for and i don't feel that just looking after me is a reason to be i think sharing things
35:03with people is just so much better than being on your own am i doing all right in public how are you
35:15very nice to see you nice to see you too it all started very fast flying stars sparks where is
35:21the same that's fine have you been flirting
35:23have i no no no you haven't flirted flirted you've been just been we've just been talking about the
35:36same things and so what sort of things would you do on a typical first date so it's almost always
35:58been a kind of a dinner something like that yeah one of them i went on went for a walk around a
36:04woodland but we got lost and by like an hour in you know when you get you just get that kind of
36:10thing of actually we're not that similar and i just don't see this working it just got progressively
36:15more awkward um because then we couldn't leave i think i've been the biggest kind of boundary in the
36:22last maybe couple of years in terms of finding a date i find it exhausting that kind of idea of
36:29trying to shuffle through all these different people just recently went holiday and in my head
36:35you'd sit down next to someone on the plane and you'd be reading the same book and you'd have eight
36:39hours to chat and you know and it'd be amazing like every rom-com ever um life isn't like that
36:45but you know i live and hope that that might be the one what are you looking for in a significant other
36:52um so i think you have to like each other like as in chat and get on as it's on a human level yeah
36:59exactly and you know like honesty is a big thing for me now there's been some kind of trials and
37:03tribulations along the way with dating yeah yeah and it was like a very dramatic kind of breakup and
37:10cheating and various other bits not on my heart it took a long time for me to get out of like a rut
37:16i genuinely thought he was going to be the one we talked about marriage and kids
37:24honestly it kind of just ripped me apart so i couldn't couldn't work and i couldn't do anything
37:31and oh my goodness sorry wow i've talked about it a lot and that wasn't what i was expecting
37:41he kind of made me feel like i wasn't worth loving and that's really difficult to get over
37:50you can tell yourself that you know you you are dateable you're lovable you have the attributes
37:56that people are looking for you're a catch um but it's really hard to believe that because of that i
38:02then probably am a little bit more reserved now with dating and things i kind of already mentioned
38:08honesty honestly i think i think it's like apart from kindness i think honesty is maybe the number
38:13one trait that's like the fundamental building block you need uh you need trust sorry to hear
38:20about your experience but you come through the other side now right exactly and you know good for
38:25you i'm definitely looking for love i think i'm ready for that someone who's kind and open and
38:31caring you know you walk in the door and there's just flowers because it was a nice thing to do
38:36i love that what's your worst ever first thing just that getting lost in a word is probably not
38:42great yeah that could be the start of a rom-com like a couple they get lost in the woods and
38:48there always has to be that moment where they're like it's over it's done what's going to be that
38:52in the forest a bear a bear i don't know
38:55can yorkshire blokes flirt i mean probably not no no no it's not a yorkshire band thing is it
39:08flirting i don't know well all right then i will you you do absolutely lovely yes thank you darling
39:14that's very nice and i like all your little mannerisms as well i do i do i could feel the personality
39:22i could feel it and it looked as though she'd been doused in fairy dust so she looked lovely she
39:29sounded lovely and really it all it all went a bit too quickly do you like my face though i do
39:35like your face do you have a pretty face i've got a face that you can usually read on my face
39:40you know what i mean i can tell from your face that we're getting on all right you can yeah we can
39:49hello
39:53hey i've done the flirting
40:01so would you like to see each other again uh yes i'd like to see linda again

40:17yeah yeah yeah gentleman i think you're a delightful person i think you're a gentleman
40:22well i'm not going to look at and we talked very easily didn't we did i haven't worn a tie for this
40:30long since since i don't know when i like to be a bit loud oh i don't need a tie to be loud
40:35i can tell so that was one date out for 16 years yeah so i'm privileged then yes
40:43yes yeah that's a bit scary lovely give me a kiss

41:20my top tip intellectually there was a match i felt like yeah you know a doctor and a master teacher
41:27okay you know caring caring couple i think becky's the kind of girl that my parents would love
41:32although does she see me as something potentially more than a friend i genuinely cannot tell ah staircase
41:39yeah bookcase yeah suitcase pencil case that's a good one okay i wasn't thinking that was too small
41:47like about this size tends to clip briefcase yeah good good this is articulate i think we've got the

42:46like the fact that you are family orientated you're kind you're thoughtful i think that's great i think
