00:00:48describe my look as modern day pirate i would say the main points of my look are my tattoos and my
00:00:55ability to mesh a more bougie lifestyle with that of a hippie and combining those two

00:01:10on what you think of my tattoos and my style really yeah you want my honest opinion yeah you know i hate
00:01:16it well what about it though give me some juice because you're such a good looking baby a good
00:01:23looking boy with all those tattoos you know it's just like you look at your face you have this gorgeous
00:01:28fish but look your body's color everywhere all right what about my style i wish you dressed a little
00:01:33more conservative you know like a gentleman like a preppy boy like you know one of those rich boys
00:01:39instead all those cat hats and ripped t-shirts and stuff like that because i feel like i have a
00:01:46beard for a son my mother's never really liked my look and she's definitely always wanted me to be
00:01:50tattoo free and to dress like a gentleman the only thing i ask do not touch your face oh not yet
00:01:56huh you better be kidding me because i i will die i swear i'll die if you put something in your face
00:02:04so the key elements to a cleaner smarter look are well first off no tattoos so we're gonna cover them
00:02:13up and his hair is a little bit on the wild side right now so we're gonna tame it and then for the
00:02:18clothes we're just gonna give him a sharper cleaner look kind of like a businessman but it's his day off
00:02:25he still wants to look good all right scooby i'm ready for you okay so first i'm gonna do your hair

00:02:39what are you most nervous about my tattoos oh okay yeah that'll feel different my style before my
00:02:46tattoos was pretty goth emo i wanted to be a rock star ever since i was like six years old so i went
00:02:52pretty hard with that aesthetic for a while when i was a baby i was born with a cholestomy bag basically
00:02:58my intestine didn't work so i couldn't use the restroom i had a reversal so i don't have a
00:03:03clestomy bag anymore but i am left with a giant scar and that was the reason why i decided to cover
00:03:08my body in tattoos all right take off your nose rings okay i am going to be covering everything that
00:03:19the shirt is not covering so i'm gonna color correct first and then i'm gonna apply a layer of foundation
00:03:25i am a little apprehensive about getting my tattoos covered these are my uh my safety blanket some
00:03:31people online say they're my whole personality so i definitely don't know how i'm gonna feel once
00:03:35they're covered so far i've spent over 97 000 on my tattoos i will say it's been a journey to get here
00:03:42but i feel incredible about the way i look now this is the mud fx palette basically any blue tone it
00:03:50cancels it out with the peach tone which is what i'm using right now this is the graptobian hd glamour
00:03:58cream it covers up honestly anything i definitely do get judged on the way i look and dress specifically
00:04:07on social media people may think you're cringe at first let's say if you start posting on the internet
00:04:11i've been called things like a hypnotic giraffe tapestry in the corner a persian rug recently this little
00:04:17kid looks at me points and goes he looks like a church but i will say that 95 is great judgment
00:04:24the comments regardless if they're negative or positive the fact that you took the time
00:04:28to exert your energy towards me makes me feel special how do you think your mom's gonna react
00:04:35she's probably gonna cry tears of joy my mom's probably wanted to see me without tattoos for so long
00:04:41this is definitely gonna be one mother's day gift that she'll never forget this is a laura mercier

00:08:13i was massive emo kid i've been getting tattooed since i was 18. it's all different parts of my
00:08:18personality money-wise on my tattoos it's probably close to getting between eight to ten grand now
00:08:24easily i feel like a few words that would summarize my look would be obviously tattooed toys
00:08:32i've been told into my dating
00:08:36i just feel dumb now that's fine
00:08:38today i'm removing my tattoos as a tribute for my dad it's something that i know he would have
00:08:43always liked so i'm doing it for him so we're doing a tattoo cover-up and a makeup transformation
00:08:49similar to what i'm wearing on my face today so a bit more of a neutral kind of makeup
00:08:54okay alex i think i'm ready for you now sit down here for me thank you definitely out of my comfort
00:09:01i have no idea what outfit i've got i'm not allowed to see and i'm nervous so this is the
00:09:07garnier it's just a little cleanser for taking off any makeup so we're just going to start removing
00:09:14any of alex's makeup goodbye eyebrows when i was a really small kid it was a lot of color just very
00:09:21casual very normal i used to wear a lot of pink i moved to spain when i was about 10 years old i used to
00:09:27get bullied at school for being blonde and i got a bit fed up with the attention so i ended up actually
00:09:32deciding to dye my hair a bit darker i experimented a lot with different styles so i think that's where
00:09:38it all sort of started so i remember seeing all the really massive brightly colored mohawks and just
00:09:42being like oh my god that's amazing and i was in love and i just knew that that was me so i'm just
00:09:47using this total tattoo coverage little palette so i've just chose this shade to go in with here and
00:09:54i'm just patting this on for now so it's just about building up the layers
00:10:02what's your favorite tattoo so that's a little heart that my mum basically made a load of teddy
00:10:07bears for all of her friends and family and stuff before she passed well it's with you forever now
00:10:11exactly so how come you've chose the transformation today as a reason it's what i think my dad would
00:10:17have really liked to have seen i was close to my dad like we had a good childhood i had a lot of love
00:10:24for my dad i had a good relationship with him my dad's always strongly disliked my tattoos always
00:10:30told me that tattoos are for criminals um but that's never stopped me so much to the point that he's
00:10:35tried to bribe me to not get any more my dad passed away in november 2023 obviously it was sad when it
00:10:44happened and everything i remember being in the hospital with him as well and showing him some of
00:10:50the tattoos i'd had done on the side of my head and he just kept like stroking my head because he just
00:10:54thought it felt really funny and that was quite sweet so i think he was quite proud of me for that
00:10:59one so i'm just going to go in with hmb cosmetics concealer so i like to pop a bit on the back of my hand
00:11:05just to warm the paddock up just creating a base for the eyes so this is my very well loved palette from
00:11:11peel ease it's called wrap it up and i absolutely love this as well because it's perfect for bronzing
00:11:16and you know you've got a nice range of skin tones it's definitely a staple in my kit i do get quite
00:11:22a few strangers saying don't get any more on your face look like a thug there was an instance when
00:11:26i went on holiday and they wouldn't let me into a building because of how i looked they just made me
00:11:31feel more adamant that i was just going to do what i wanted peer pressure doesn't work on me
00:11:36so they just made me more adamant to just do what i wanted and prove people wrong
00:11:45so i'm just going to use this p louise eyebrow pencil and this is in the shade espresso i think
00:11:51so it's like a nice dark kind of shade so we're just going to fill them in ever so slightly
00:11:57so who are you actually revealing the look to today two of my friends uh bam and elise neither
00:12:03of them really remembers what i look like without all the tattoos yeah so it's going to be a big
00:12:08shock for them yeah i think the pink glossy looks complete the look okay alex so your transformation's

00:12:44i do literally feel like a barbie they're just having absolutely no like tattoos whatsoever or
00:12:55anything i'm not a fan of the dress or the shoes yeah i don't hate the hair i think i could even get
00:13:02used to the top half being no tattoos but for some reason the bottom half i'm like nope the tattoos need
00:13:07to come back how do you think your dad would feel seeing you like this i think he'd have absolutely
00:13:11loved it to be fair um i think he'd have cried some happy tears i definitely think he'd have been
00:13:17oh i'm not really pretty so i think he'd have absolutely loved it gonna go meet the girls in a
00:13:24bit and i'm expecting some screams they're not going to be prepared for this i've never seen a
00:13:30dress in a way other than like you you know you're trackies and a hoodie but even then it's black
00:13:34it's always had some form of alternative influence rather than just being very normie so she's
00:13:39had to dress up like you know formal events but even then even then it's a bit god even like if
00:13:44she's doing like a little doll dress it'll be covered in blood we've been talking about what
00:13:48we're expecting all day and we cannot figure it out no
00:13:50what are you what are you what is that that was exactly the reaction i was expecting to be
00:14:05just do it to love island and just came out like this i don't mind the color yeah i don't mind the
00:14:29color that i don't like i like the sleeves i like the sleeves i love the sleeves it's made me realize
00:14:34that maybe i can do slightly i don't have to do the massive eyeliner all the time yeah the hair i'm
00:14:40not the hair really suits you but it's definitely not you i would like to get my tattoos back now

00:15:32a big massive hug so he would have loved this in eighth place is gabby the zombie doll she made her
00:15:53mum's wish come true by stripping the dark style and going hyper feminine because i love anything dark and
00:16:01gory the main things that make my look are definitely the white base my contour because
00:16:09it makes it like more of like that dead look i like to take inspiration from zombies and fairies
00:16:15and like cottagecore if i could summarize my look in a few words it would be gothic mystical and probably
00:16:22vintage i do my style for me not for anybody else i like my look i don't like i'm sorry

00:18:00of gothic things but as i grew up i would be told by my family that that was wrong and that it would look

00:18:11anytime we would like walk past some kind of like alternative person they would point them out and
00:18:15be like they look horrible you should never look like that so i would kind of just like push that
00:18:21side of me away as i grew up i kind of wanted to rebel against my family so i started to like do it
00:18:28anyways and it's my face and i can do what i want with my face uh this is the dior highlighter palette
00:18:37just to highlight her eyes add a little bit of shimmer i love this shimmer because it's a lighter grain
00:18:46and it's not too heavy on the eye these are lily lashes in style milan i use them only on the outer
00:18:54corner of her eyes i love them because they're a bit wispier and it kind of just gives the eye a
00:19:00little more dimension i do definitely get judged on the way that i look and i dress i've heard people
00:19:07snickering and like laughing to each other and like i will turn around and i'll see them pointing at me
00:19:11i've had some girls like fully just scream just see me and just scream at the top of their lungs like
00:19:17just scream bloody murder i've been at the mall before a group of boys would like bark at me
00:19:22families are like mothers with their kids like oh like don't look at that these people can say
00:19:25whatever they want about me i'm still going to look exactly the way i look this is the charlotte

00:19:41so what made you decide to do this what's the occasion so my mom doesn't really like my
00:19:46zombie doll like look um so we're having this family gathering and i'm gonna dress up the way
00:19:54that she wishes i would look this is the one size blush in attention seeker i love it because it's
00:20:04super bright so whenever i want to go for a really girly look this is definitely one of my go-to's

00:23:09i definitely didn't expect my mom to get emotional so that kind of hit my heart a little bit
00:23:13i definitely was very very happy and i was i was very excited to see everyone react to
00:23:18this whole new me actually hearing positive comments from my mom on my appearance was
00:23:24kind of nice genuinely really did enjoy this experience i had a lot of fun channeling what
00:23:29i guess six-year-old me would have liked to see me in the future but i see myself like this
00:23:35now that i'm in the future and i go absolutely not
00:23:41in seventh place is anika her best friend and mom pushed her to ditch the homeless chic style
00:23:47in hopes to help her find the confidence she always desired i would describe my look as athletic
00:23:54modest and simple my look is comfort over everything if i'm not comfortable in a look
00:24:00then i normally don't wear it i kind of just throw on whatever i can and uh get out of bed and go to
00:24:07classes today i'm getting my angus today i'm letting my mom and my best friend transform my style like
00:24:14they've always wanted my mom and my best friend kaylyn are definitely fed up with how i look the words
00:24:22that kaylyn uses is homeless chic so anika's problem right now she's looking around at the girls that
00:24:30have the homeless chic going on yeah she put a little bit of effort on like sunday night
00:24:34she would be able to still wear like athletic clothes to class if she wanted to like no one says you need
00:24:38to put a prom dress on to go to class i know but she just always looks kind of like an unmade
00:24:43fan you know like oh i love her and she's got a cute figure and you know she has cute everything
00:24:50it's just a little tiny bit of a tweak and some effort a little upgrade hey anika hi kaylyn hey mama
00:24:57we are gonna have so much fun transforming you mom it's gonna be i think you need it my mom is not
00:25:07happy with my look and so she's going to be picking out what i wear and how i look for the rest of the
00:25:15day let's go shopping yes i'm so scared drawing attention to myself is scary i don't dress up that
00:25:24often because i don't want people to look at me even if it's in a good way because i'm scared
00:25:31they're gonna see the bad parts too hello hi how are you good for anika we're gonna do a soft look
00:25:43just kind of like grabbing her features um emphasizing her cheekbones for her hair we're
00:25:50giving her um hollywood ways give her some volume we're gonna go and start off with the hydration
00:25:56first um actually using this brand it it this is like for all kinds of skin
00:26:06just having the moisturizer on my face it genuinely feels really nice really soothing really calm
00:26:11and so i'm feeling a lot less nervous than i did before but i guess we'll have to see once the layers
00:26:17start adding up since i was about 13 years old my confidence has been at a really low point and that
00:26:28is often reflected in the way that i look i would like to elevate my look a little bit sometimes um be
00:26:36able to you know feel confident in my own skin sometimes even if you just put a little bit of
00:26:43lipstick and you're just not used to on the daily wearing lipstick it kind of uplifts you a little
00:26:48bit are you nervous excited a little bit of a i i've never done anything like this before and so
00:27:02i'm as nervous as i am i'm i know i'm gonna love it that is assuming that my mom and my best friend and
00:27:09her mom picked out clothes that i actually like all right are you ready let's do this

00:30:38in myself than i ever have been mom caitlin trisha you guys are the greatest people i have in my life
00:30:46and always make me feel so much better about myself and i want to say thank you for giving me the
00:30:51confidence that i didn't know i had i'm so grateful to you guys oh don't be silly bring it in bring it
00:31:00but the beginning of this whole day i was so scared to go out in public and have people look at me the
00:31:07way i am right now but let them stare because i feel good i feel like this this entire experience isn't just
00:31:18transforming me for one day i think it's transforming me for life
00:31:25in sixth place barbie she swept out of her pink comfort zone and into a tomboy look i'm a barbie
00:31:32doll babe my cars are pink my clothes are pink and my room is pink my name is barbie i'm an online
00:31:42content creator but i'm also a real life barbie doll
00:31:48this is my room this is where all the magic happens this is my bed this is where i get all of my beauty
00:31:54rest because you need it duh this is my amazing beautiful vanity it's all pink this is where i sit
00:32:01and get glammed up into my makeup and tell myself how pretty i am i would describe my style as hyper
00:32:08feminine super pink and i really just express myself and my femininity through my clothes
00:32:15i love this dress because it's really hyper feminine it's so cute it's a little baby doll dress
00:32:21with pink fur like such a classic pick for me i really love obviously like the velour jackets and
00:32:28the tracksuits that are a million on here because they're my go-to my bags are here too because i like
00:32:35to have options like you need them obviously everything has to be pink and if it's not pink
00:32:42it should be rhinestone blinged out very very extra if i could describe my look in one word it would be
00:32:48barbilicious and barbie really just doesn't care what anybody thinks she dresses how she wants
00:32:53and she really just makes the most out of life so that's really inspiring to me with my fashion looks
00:32:59so a style that i truly do appreciate and kind of want to dive into but have been nervous
00:33:05is more of the masculine type of style i see a lot of girls rocking it and i get so inspired by it
00:33:12but i just get nervous to try stuff like that because it's so opposite of my look right now
00:33:20what's happening today is i'm being transformed from a real-life barbie doll into more of a tomboy
00:33:26streetwear type look something very new for me i've been excited to see what's in here
00:33:33omg a beanie oh my gosh see we're going with the baggie oh my gosh the t-shirt and the long sleeve

00:56:41to start by removing everything so today i'm transforming from my modified punk look to hyper
00:56:49feminine something that like my mom kind of always wanted me to be so today she's gonna actually get

00:57:01eyes and then i'll be doing the cover-ups on your face the neck and after the chest how much i probably
00:57:09have spent from my mods to my tattoos it's close to 20 000 that started with literally my very first
00:57:16tattoo when i think i was like 16 i think you had to be 16 at that time i have a big chest piece my
00:57:21throat's all done i have all this blacked out so i kept getting more and more i kind of stopped counting

01:12:02cyber goth today and i want to embrace our vietnamese culture that is so amazing and i have something
01:12:13that i think is so perfect for you to wear so today we are going to be doing more of a soft and natural
01:12:21look for her it's very subtle you can barely tell if there's any makeup all the pinks and browns instead
01:12:27of using colors and no shimmers nothing too bold all right girl um if you can uh start taking
01:12:34everything off and then i'll help you remove all your makeup i'm very apprehensive about taking out
01:12:39my piercings i feel like they are my one thing that i can't step out of the house without i gotta use
01:12:46some tools for this this is a embryo elise moisturizer it's actually a multi-function it removes the makeup
01:12:55because it has moisturizer as a primer when did you start um like wearing your type of look for the
01:13:02cyber goth specifically i started back in the like maybe 2021 or 2022 but i've always been like goth
01:13:13it was as young as 12 that i started dressing this way going to school and just blacked out eyeliner
01:13:20i looked a little bit crazy but i would say that kind of kick-started me into this unconventional
01:13:25style i'm going into the primer right now which is estee lauder and then i'll spray to finish up the
01:13:32skin prep do you get judged by the way that you look i definitely get judged a lot people will stare
01:13:38in point take pictures of me at times restaurants will have to seat us in a back corner so that i'm not
01:13:45disrupting any customers people assuming that i'm not a nice person for people to say that to me it
01:13:51does hurt my feelings a bit so i'm using nars foundation and this is a very light to medium
01:13:59coverage i'm just using a bit of a bronzer just around her face i was born and raised here in texas
01:14:08my mother is from vietnam growing up i knew how to speak vietnamese but now i'm at a place where
01:14:15my ability to speak is stunted because of all the prejudice that i faced growing up i think that my
01:14:21vietnamese identity and my inability to connect with it definitely has limited my ability to express
01:14:27myself that way i always felt like i didn't belong with this group even though it's in my blood
01:14:33how do you think your um mom and boyfriend are going to react to the look i think they're going
01:14:39to be very surprised this is going to be their first time seeing me without piercings without the
01:14:47crazy hair we're just going to give her almost like a small blowout all right girl i think we're good

01:16:52i kind of view myself as you know this is not you know where i belong but now i see that i you know
01:16:58belong here and it makes me want to you know immerse myself more in the culture and put forth more
01:17:04effort into learning the language i have something surprise for you another surprise yes in here very tiny
01:17:20oh it's a j buddha there you go and the earring this is more close to uh our culture
01:17:34so i love to to see you more in this outfit too yeah i'll try wow look at that so much color
01:17:47the surprise my mom gave me you know it's very unexpected but uh you know jade it's a it holds a
01:17:54lot of meaning in um vietnamese culture so to have received this from my mother i think it meant a lot to
01:18:02me just as much as it meant a lot to her and i will be treasuring these pieces and maybe trying to
