Four vehicles parked near a food court in Jalan Song Ban Kheng in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, caught fire on Monday (Dec 22) afternoon, with two gutted and two others damaged.

00:00Four vehicles parked near a food court on Jalan Songban Keng in Bukit Murtajam were
00:07damaged by fire on Monday afternoon, with two completely gutted and two others partially
00:13affected. Penang Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Operations Director John Sagan Francis
00:19said six firefighters from the Purda Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched after receiving
00:24an emergency call at 2.27 p.m. The blaze involved a multipurpose vehicle and a luxury sports
00:31utility vehicle, both about 95% destroyed, while two sedans sustained 30% and 15% damage,
00:39respectively. The fire was brought under control at 3.04 p.m., and the site was handed over to the
00:46fire investigation team for further examination. The cause of the fire and the total losses are
00:51still under investigation.
